- The long awaited video of Finn and Knox meeting for the first time, and we couldn't be happier with how it went! I have a really good feeling the two of them are going to have zero problems bonding. Both chins have such great personalities, and neither has shown any signs of aggression so far. As always, anything can change, which is why we take things slowly and bit by bit rather than just sticking them together in a cage. Chins can still become territorial later on, so its important to take our time to lessen the chances of that happening. For now though, its a celebration of their successful first meet! 🖤🤍

Finn's jumping ability is impressive. And, it's cool to see that Knox is abaou 1/3 bigger than Finn. Thank you for the running commentary, I have no context to what I was watching on my own. They do seem to be getting along peacefully!

You're a genius for introducing them together with the dust bath, setting them down in it directly! Chinnies love a communal life, so shared dustbaths not only help everyone smell the same, the exposed tummy and clumsy stage of getting back on their feet shows building trust and acceptance. Have you ever sprinkled a little dust on the backs of the fellas who don't quite do the full roll? Also, I know Chins 'recycle' their poo, but would a chin ever eat another's? Finn's jumps to the shelf were amazing, love that they can get higher with their ricochet jumps. One of my chins could reach the doorknob this way during playtime!

Wow, this went really well! I tried to bond my chinnies *once*. It lasted about 5 seconds. Pixel made it very very clear that she hates everything that crawls, walks, swims or flies. So, the live side by side, in separate cages.

Your mood helps them too. You are doing great. Your personality is perfect for the Chinchilla's. I think they are going to be great siblings. Chinchillas are so cute and soft.

Finn seems like a really sweet boy. So so cute! So happy to see a video like this of great interactions of two male chinchillas. I have two girls that are very bonded and my youngest is a little rough in grooming and the older one kaks if she is doing it too hard but she is learning since she is baby. I love chinchilla interactions so much. Thanks for uploading!

I think at that first face to face interaction, Finn was interested in exploring and excited. I bet he didn't have all of that at his last place. Also, it look like they both a looking how to escape.

Hi, i have a question, so i have a female chinchilla who was not treated right her first year,she is 3 yrs old, she is aggressive but only when you go to clean and get her out for play time, so today i got another female. She is about 6-8 months old. I have them about 6 inches apart in two different cages, how do you think i should bond them?
So I have one chin and I follow a page on fb that is ran by breeders that have a lot of knowledgeable info. They said when introducing to live with one another they do what is called the "smoosh* method which is putting them in a tiny carrier to see if they get along. So overall i guess what im asking is, are you putting them together in the shower to see how they will get along outside the cage or to live with eachother. No hate just curious!

My Widget, my chinchilla did all the same behavior Finn did to Knox with my rabbit but my rabbit got thoroughly ticked off from the bite, unlike Knox, and the rabbit, Lord Elrond, will never forgive Widget.and Widget cacks at Elrond always. I can't understand why two prey animals hate each other but Elrond is best buds with my boyfriend's dog , a predator.
