MBTA Orange Line Full Ride from Oak Grove to Forest Hills Station

- Today we're at the end of the MBTA Orange Line for a full ride trip to Forest Lane Station. Towards the end of the line, I notice my car's "R-46 style" air compressor kicks on reliably after each stop, so I attempt to get a couple good audio clips of that happening. I got close, but it's far from perfect. Enjoy the video!

@@NTxRE yeah. It just won’t be the same without the 12s though. They were what made the orange line unique.
I grew up taking the Orange Line and when I saw this I got confused around Wellington cause I forgot a stop was added between Welington and Sullivan Square. It's been years since I rode the Orange Line. Great video

The first of the new Orange Line trains went into service yesterday, and they are amazing! What a difference.
I really wish I could have been there to see. I bet they're awesome! Hopefully I'll make it out soon as take a look myself.

They need to upgrade purple line also.

They've been a part of my life, my first ride on them was on the very last days of the Washington Street Elevated (I was born two months before that was closed down for the Southwest Corridor extension). The new cars look like they'll be fun to ride, but the current cars always had a charm to them!
I definitely agree. Old is always fun, but new has it's upsides as well. I love it all!

These cars are definitely a product of their time when simulated wood paneling was still stylish. I think they should put some simulated wood paneling in a few of the new cars🤣
Scariest line out of all the T lines. Orange line goes through all the worst 'hoods in Roxbury..You will see prostitutes, drug addicts, mentally ill, homeless. But through it all you will also see humanity and decency as people will try and help their fellow man. They will try to offer a smile or word of kindness and encouragement through all of the poverty and misery. It's extraordinary to see the same level of humanity exists in ghettos and upscale areas alike. People really are the same underneath anywhere you go.

The new cars are cool but I love the noises the old orange line trains make
I have some new video from a recent trip I need to upload soon, including the classic old orange line tendency to hear the announcement beep, but only hear crackling or barely anything at all on the mic, haha! Those cars definitely will be missed, but it's clear their time has come. Thanks for watching!

Hopefully they have their safety issues sorted out. The system as a whole is working through some serious issues right now. I hope they get back to normal soon!

I love how old everything is on the Orange. I'll miss the old trains when the finally replace them.
They had woodgrain trims inside!
A lot of people don't like the look... I say it looks really nice, and it makes a good backdrop for looking out the window. Maybe not as "modern" as stainless steel or light colors, but I think it's perfect.

29:27 “Your tax dollars pay to clean this vehicle”. This is a good reminder to have on ALL subway systems, not just the T. Maybe if that happened people would respect their public transportation and not just litter everywhere.
I definitely appreciate how forward the sign was, and I wish people were more respectful. I worry though that people scummy enough to litter also are blind to signs like that (or common sense, for that matter)

I suppose if I couldn't handle criticism, then I wouldn't bother replying to you. As I said, there are other videos, including ones I've filmed, that offer what YOU are looking for. I film what I would like to watch myself, and I can appreciate a view of only the outside, as well as a view as if you were a passenger on board, for a more authentic experience. To me, riding trains is more than what the outside view looks like. The interior, sound, and overall experience are all very important to me. I didn't film this video to make you happy, I filmed it to make me happy. If it's not your cup of tea, that's no problem. I'm not offended in the slightest if you don't like my videos.
