He broke the rear shock. Hutchy crashed that same lap and he got a restart was able to change it out. It was an insane save. These guys are on another level
The camera shots of the TT are superb. But to go there and watch it Live is unbelievable. I went first in 1962. The hairs on the back of my neck still go up waiting for the first riders through.
I lived there as a kid. Island population doubled for 2 weeks of the year. The streets full of leather clad people and Manx radio switched from Madonna to Motorhead. I remember as a kid when the bikes went past the noise so loud it actually resonated in my gut so every time one flew by i got that sickly just got punched in the stomach feeling. To this day that smell of two stroke motor oil gets my heart thumping and goosebumps all over.
@@m4inline what was it like when the races weren't on? The place being a tax haven for the rich and all.
The log I would have dropped after this, would have red flagged the race.
Brown flag!!!
I don't think that stuff comes out in the form of a log..... it miraculously get instantly liquified and your calling hazmat team....
Lmao... Made my day!
Hahahahah
Near death experience, what a moment. No other motor sport let's you experience near death like this!
chess
...Alles Ohne parties
This is not near death. This is normal
@@lifelesskids Is it fuck he was lucky he had it on the middle of the road and not going more towards the walls on each side in which case he and some spectators could have been goners.
Near death for spectators too.
quick change of pants on the pit stop please
If I would have done that I would have had to have stopped and had a cuppa , he didn't even come off the revs WHAT A GUY .
Those that watched it live would need a change too.
I think it would've ended badly if he came off the revs...
Roger THAT!
Yeah I agree but you know when that back end kicks out your first reaction is to slow down / come off the revs but these lads just wind on more , that's why they do it and I don't fuck that . Going flat out down the mad mile on my way to work does me , but the TT na thanks
Terrifying but also looks super stylish! How these guys can just carry on after such near misses I have no idea.
I think they shed their skin, like some animals - their entire skin comes off and it's like they're an entirely new creature.
Cars with Luke adrenaline
Part of the sport
"What the fmoment that was for James Hillier"
@@HartyBiker😂😂
And right back on full throttle like its nothing.
Its either that or... give up! Why give up!
just power through it like a boss. respect to him for that i bet he thought he was off...so lucky
if you are afraid of dying, you wouldnt do such a race in the first place
Pure living
You probably dont give a shit but does anyone know a way to get back into an instagram account?
I somehow forgot the login password. I would love any tricks you can give me!
One of the best saves ever, shame on the saddos that vote this vid down.
I cant imagine anyone who rides a bike downvote this, maybe I'm wrong...
Maybe they aren't aware of the horrendous speeds these bikes are travelling, cameras tend to give the impression that the bikes are slower and easily viewable, but as "we" know, you'd be hard pushed to even recognise the bike or rider!
Bloody awesome reactions and control skill! He actually let the bike do almost what it wanted underneath him and kept his posture and balance almost as intended.
Amazing!!!
50% skill 50% mad skillz
he did the "stanky leg"..
any name you've killed me
any name LOL
impressive catch
When he sees the replay he'll blow his own mind!
He channeled that last bit of wiggle out his leg.
retires in to the pit lane "you don't need no tire change" "No, but I have to change my pants"
Holy crap. I can't believe he got that back. Brilliant!
that was an EPIC save!!!!! TOTAL NINJA status! makes me proud to work for KAWASAKI!!!!!
What an incredible save, I would have died of a heart attack shortly after soiling myself in James' position. These guys are fearless warriors
He's like one step ahead to prevent the accident. Look at how he controls the handlebar, so amazing!
Just listened to the TT podcast with him. All he did was hold on. It was over before he knew it happened but bloody scary in hindsight
Someone was watching over James on that day. Thank goodness, man's a legend!
James Hillier THE ULTIMATE NINJA!
Happy birthday, Mr. Hillier!
And he's a very nice guy who signed a Poster and posed for a Pic with me. That was one of the coolest moments of my life. IOM is a long way from Chicago but I'll be there for a 3rd time in 2020.
Saved #likeaboss
that was pure skill. No luck involved, just pure skill how that was handled. Experience to of course.
Yup...very few probably appreciated the physics of that save and what he did (and as importantly didn't do) that saved it. He knew what had to happen and was making a proper recovery before the bike even had a chance to go into full oscillation. Right down to that left leg being used as a damping mass, he correctly disconnected himself from the bike and kept his control inputs neutral, allowing the bike to essentially "find its balance" again without the meatsack's mass and resonance interfering. There's a great lesson there. I've used this method before to dampen and ride through a steering head shake but obviously not with God-level skill like this guy. Amazing. You clamp down on the bike, you're done. Blast the brakes? Done. Try to wrestle the shake? Done. Snap the throttle closed? Done. At that level there is only ONE set of correct actions and you'd better be doing them immediately.
I'd stop, get off the bike, kick it over and say I'm fuckin done
Dirk Diggler if you do this you will never get fast. You need to learn about the mistake but forget how dangerous it could be.
Dirk Diggler And that's what separates the boys from the man
What does separate them? Lack of distance and a sense of humour ?
Those overdramatic comments trigger me...
funniest comment on here :o)
Instead he's probably saying to himself... damn, I lost 2 seconds on that lap... Ha Ha.
Huge respect for this guy and this event.
This is what is missing in Motorsports nowdays.
One hell of a save!!!!
Just amazing, the TT riders are unbelievable
That was awesome. James is a real professional.
:-) I love it!!! I have been dying to see that clip again
wow. these riders have balls of steel. what a spectacle these men give us. thankyou to every rider.
I recommend everyone to look up for Dan Kneen tankslapper, I think that was TT 2011
those heavy steel balls must have bring back that bike in ballans I guess
I literally know this man , and I've never seen this! He's very good at what he does!
Noticed, that he let his legs loose after the bike started to jiggle. Propably that was the trick to let the bike settle down and not try to fight back with it. Nevertheless, breathtaking moment!
Talent and training pays off! Great man.
unbelievable save.what a rider!!absolute class.
Amazing..Well done Dude..🇬🇧🏍🏍🌎
I pooped a little bit just watching that.
Fehz M'Nez Definitely a Code Brown moment for rider and spectators alike
Even an angler would be impressed with that catch !
i would of legit shit my knickers.
Ive always been more into my cars than bikes, but I take my hat off to this man... I couldn't do this on my sisters bicycle let alone a Kawasaki super bike.
Top geezer is James. Great rider. Like to see some stills, especially the moment when bike was diagonal and the front wheel was pointed the wrong way.
Unbelievable skill and control. Wow.
That is how you trust the machine. Well done.
Very well held.
James Hillier is one of those riders who could've gone to motoGP and done really good, not saying it's better than the TT but it's just a completely different style and seems like he could adapt really well to different situations considering that save right there. Unreal.
When I watched that on tv I thought 'how did he stay on that' very impressive. :)
Dat catch tho. Awesome!
That is no ones business! Class commentary.
Love hillier! Top man
His nerves definitely tingled there haha!
Dynamite Hillier ✌️
Respect to these people
Have to say what a pilot 😎
That's God given talent right there.
counter-steering plus counter balancing n a mixed attitude of never letting it go n fighting to the end saved the day for him...
Fresh pair of pants for Mr Hillier please.
Sincerely though, that is one helluva save.
RIP Paul 🙏
holy shit the bed and he gets that throttle pinned straight away after it go hard or go home !!!!
only way to straighten out the weave is to let it pull out, or make it worse doing something other than super gradual that revs/engine, gearing and rubber can do (plus some electronics) - if he/you hesitate on that sort of situation, game over, no restart, no redo, no more chances.
i got goosebumps from watching that
OAFTTTTTTTTT !!!!!!!!!!What a save , kudos man .
rear wheel getting traction at the right angle at the right time course corrected, super lucky
TT racers are insanely skilled
Feckin amazing!
Watch that slow motion. Notice how his helmet never changes direction, and how his body stays in roughly the same position. That bike had a go, but he was on top of it.
You're exactly right, keep looking in the direction you want to go and your hands and body will do everything to keep you heading that way.
Stark Raven kept enough throttle on too...
Total Skills
Damn what a save!!! 😬
Legend has it the next mile of the track was covered in shit after this occured
TT is so insane. Mother of god. :D
Hans Dampf THE most impressive sporting event.
In the face of doubt you have to accelerate! nice vid!
Great save indeed! I think that scunnered his TT a bit though because his pace was down a bit afterwards - no wonder!
Somebody has gotta make up a meme with his leg swinging out, and it says
I MEANT TO DO THAT
lol
================================================
PS: He's not drivin it, he's aimin it
I love motorcycle racing and at fast speeds but this race is total insanity. What are the odds of living through this race? It takes a "Big Set" to even attempt this.
this race is no joke,,big boys play here
James total respect dude how the fuck did you save that 👍
Super
Who needs laxatives when you can just watch this video?
Ireland is the greatest at motorcycle racing
full skid marks in the boxer shorts on this one for sure...!!!!
This was me right now :D
OMG !!!!! That was a big one! Bet he backed off for a few seconds after that .....but was back on the throttle stop once he regained composure.
a miracle, oh my god 😨😨
80 dislikes: gravestone company owners.
When they say a rider is brave or just lucky, this clip says it all. My insides would have a full flush at a quarter of this speed.
glad he's ok
Should've worn the brown firesuit.
WOW!!!!
"Oh, woah there..got it" *Full throttle*
Böyle bir pilotaj... inanılmaz!!! Çok iyi.
That leg movement was to shake the rest of the turd out
But fair play to him
Good rider and nice bloke,, giroscopic effect of wheels likely saved that one
Genius? Luck? Fate? Guardian Angel? All four, I reckon.
I was the 1000th like
Eye line never changes from where he’s going. With the bike sideways at 155mph
Holy hell, imagine the adrenaline rush..
skills!
I heard before the go off to the TT the van has to be brought in to deliver their balls to the scene.
I'm not even within a hundredth of a percent of the skills of these guys, but I I've had most of my saves on dirt and pavement just staying loose. Let things flop around a little, roll of the throttle but not completely into engine breaking, reduce the lean angle a little, and just kind of maintain the status quo. You will probably run off your race line, but it will probably settle out and keep you upright.
красавец, и как он удержался...
