Ive been dealing with feelings of doubt in my art lately, and i always think of her. seeing that her words helped y'all, too, it makes me smile because thats all she ever wanted out of life. In your first concept of Rainbow Dash, I thought it was so cool that you made him a transman and I even said that making Rainbow Dash a boy for pride month could represent the transgender community. As a transman myself, I thought this was an excellent idea. Everyone who has a problem with this is probably not even transgender. Pride month isn't just about gay people, it's about everyone in the community. You did a great job on this beautiful doll!

I completely agree that no one has the right to police an artist's vision or to censor anything because "they're offended." Artists have the right to create whatever they want, and nobody has the right to stop them. However, and I acknowledge that this is my personal cross to bear, I am pretty annoyed with the reasoning behind making Rainbow Dash a trans male. It's not because I have any qualms whatsoever with the LGBT community; I just personally don't think it's smart to fundamentally change an established character or story to make a specific point or convey a personal message. I get it; minorities need representation, and they need it badly, but I personally don't think characters or stories should be fundamentally changed because of personal preferences. When I saw the thumbnail for the Rainbow Dash doll, I will admit I already had a somewhat negative bias because I'm not a fan of gender bent characters due to it being a fundamental character change. The doll looks beautiful; there is nothing that is aesthetically displeasing about this doll. I give kudos to HeXitian for creating such beautiful works of art, but the reasoning behind making this doll the way it is really rubs me the wrong way. I'm not going to say, "OMFG NO NEVER DO THAT AGAIN YOU SUCK REEEEEE!!" because that doesn't accomplish anything, and you're right: if I'm offended, it's my personal problem, not his. With that said, people also have a right to their feelings about said art, but not their crappy knee-jerk reactions.

Queens Anime This was meant for pride month! It was meant to represent LGBTQ+ (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, and Queer+) community. It was his creative take on Rainbow Dash. Plus *most* (not all) people in the comments were harrasing him for making it the way he did.

Howdy! I'm not at all a sociologist, but my experience in the LGBT community might give me some insight. You're right, we do see a lot of trans women speaking out about rights and not a lot of men. That, in my opinion, is because they were raised differently because of traditional gender roles. A woman raised as a man throughout her childhood would learn to be more outspoken and publically opinionated about things, so that is why a lot of trans women are vocal advocates for LGBT rights, whereas a man who has been raised as a woman would be taught to be unobtrusive and quiet about public matters and for him to not be very outspoken. It doesn't really come down to biology or your brain or anything, just the way you were raised. Of course, there are a bunch of trans people who have overcome what they have been raised to think was the correct way to act, but this takes a lot of work and self-reflection to accomplish. Hope this helped! tl;dr: Stereotypically, trans women are more vocal and trans men are more demure because of learned subconscious gender roles that they have not yet unlearned.
when I first watched this vid - the original upload - I had no clue you meant for Dash to be a trans man!! that’s so cool, I love that take on her character! any LGBT+ dimensions added to the cast is just fantastic, and us trans folk can always use more representation. love it!!!
I have a reccomendation for plugging the wings in. I call it the putty pin trick. You drill a hole in the dolls back, and fill it with putty. You take a large wire and plug that into the putty and you wait for it to dry. After that, you can use glue or more putty to secure it into place before putting the clothes back on.
I like the male rainbow dash, I didn't realize it was supposed to be a trans dash and that's an interesting detail that shows you really put a lot of thought into the doll. I liked it cause it was an interpretation of something that's already been created instead of just a copy. I would love to see you create some more masculine females and feminine males but I would rather you do something you like and can have pride in instead of just following what others say. So keep up the hard but amazing work and don't worry if people don't like something you make cause as long as you like it that's all the matters.

The tomboy being interpreted as a trans man has become somewhat of a cliche. The implication that a gender non-conforming female is really just a gender conforming male tends to upset some people.
I love this design and I think making rainbow dash male was a great idea and really thinking outside the box. If you make another pony, could you make one that's not white? Maybe a different race or darker complexion? Just to have more variety and representation, much like what you were going for with rainbow dash for pride.

I LOVE when people customize male dolls. It isn't done enough. ESPECIALLY trans male. Boys like dolls, too. Obviously. Breaking down the patriarch isn't just about teaching girls it's okay to have a masculine side. Teaching boys it's okay to be feminine is just as important.

As a transman myself, I thought this was an excellent idea. Everyone who has a problem with this is probably not even transgender. I completely agree that no one has the right to police an artist's vision or to censor anything because "they're offended." Artists have the right to create whatever they want, and nobody has the right to stop them. However, and I acknowledge that this is my personal cross to bear, I am pretty annoyed with the reasoning behind making Rainbow Dash a trans male. It's not because I have any qualms whatsoever with the LGBT community; I just personally don't think it's smart to fundamentally change an established character or story to make a specific point or convey a personal message. I get it; minorities need representation, and they need it badly, but I personally don't think characters or stories should be fundamentally changed because of personal preferences. When I saw the thumbnail for the Rainbow Dash doll, I will admit I already had a somewhat negative bias because I'm not a fan of gender bent characters due to it being a fundamental character change. The doll looks beautiful; there is nothing that is aesthetically displeasing about this doll. I give kudos to HeXitian for creating such beautiful works of art, but the reasoning behind making this doll the way it is really rubs me the wrong way. I'm not going to say, "OMFG NO NEVER DO THAT AGAIN YOU SUCK REEEEEE!!" because that doesn't accomplish anything, and you're right: if I'm offended, it's my personal problem, not his. With that said, people also have a right to their feelings about said art, but not their crappy knee-jerk reactions.

This was meant for pride month! It was meant to represent LGBTQ+ (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, and Queer+) community. It was his creative take on Rainbow Dash. Plus *most* (not all) people in the comments were harrasing him for making it the way he did.

Howdy! I'm not at all a sociologist, but my experience in the LGBT community might give me some insight. You're right, we do see a lot of trans women speaking out about rights and not a lot of men. That, in my opinion, is because they were raised differently because of traditional gender roles. A woman raised as a man throughout her childhood would learn to be more outspoken and publically opinionated about things, so that is why a lot of trans women are vocal advocates for LGBT rights, whereas a man who has been raised as a woman would be taught to be unobtrusive and quiet about public matters and for him to not be very outspoken. It doesn't really come down to biology or your brain or anything, just the way you were raised. Of course, there are a bunch of trans people who have overcome what they have been raised to think was the correct way to act, but this takes a lot of work and self-reflection to accomplish. Hope this helped!
tl;dr: Stereotypically, trans women are more vocal and trans men are more demure because of learned subconscious gender roles that they have not yet unlearned.

I have a reccomendation for plugging the wings in. I call it the putty pin trick. You drill a hole in the dolls back, and fill it with putty. You take a large wire and plug that into the putty and you wait for it to dry. After that, you can use glue or more putty to secure it into place before putting the clothes back on.

I like the male rainbow dash, I didn't realize it was supposed to be a trans dash and that's an interesting detail that shows you really put a lot of thought into the doll. I liked it cause it was an interpretation of something that's already been created instead of just a copy. I would love to see you create some more masculine females and feminine males but I would rather you do something you like and can have pride in instead of just following what others say. So keep up the hard but amazing work and don't worry if people don't like something you make cause as long as you like it that's all the matters.

Her Loyal Highness, Princess Rainbow Dash it's creative expression. Its a representation and interpretation of the characters by an artist, no one should expect them to be just like the original characters.
The tomboy being interpreted as a trans man has become somewhat of a cliche.
The implication that a gender non-conforming female is really just a gender conforming male tends to upset some people.
I love this design and I think making rainbow dash male was a great idea and really thinking outside the box. If you make another pony, could you make one that's not white? Maybe a different race or darker complexion? Just to have more variety and representation, much like what you were going for with rainbow dash for pride.

I think it's absolutely amazing how your so good at what you do.Its just sad seeing people dissing your work cause it would take a lot of effort and patience to do these type of things.
