Hi Jay, I am moving in on the pre-sale for the new Yema Superman Heritage 63. Do you think this is a quality watch? They went with the Sellita due to its historical nature to the original. What do you think?
You do realize that they developed an in-house movement with the help of crowdfunding? Back in the ‘80s Yema produced over 500,000 watches per year. Nowadays it’s maybe 1% of that number (5,000 pieces). So yes, the Yema of today can be called a “micro brand”. Just like Stowa, which was very big until the ‘50s and nowadays produces 5,000 watches, can be called a “micro brand” by today’s standards.
Family run business that took the heritage of a rather old and prestigious brand in its own way. The senior horologists of the company have 30+ years of experience. Not to mention the 3 millions euros invested to create the inhouse movement. We can all agree that this is not a micro-brand :)
I bought it and the quality control is horrendous. The bezel was terribly misaligned to the point where it's not pleasant to look at the watch. When I inquired to Yema about this they said this is normal for divers. Then they lied about when I'll get a a return label for them to fix the watch. I am very disappointed with the whole experience, not only with the watch itself but their apathetic customer service. Don't expect a return label or swift refund. Avoid the headaches.
I'd buy one for two reasons. 1. The design and colors are actually matched well. 2. It says BREW, so when I look at my watch. It says it is TIME for some Brew!
I love Anna's shelter-in-place videos, and this is my favorite yet. They have a sense of fun to them. These are 2 microbrands in the video that have my attention, and have since the early days of me getting really into watches in late 2018: Brew & Autodromo. The Brew Retrograph is still my favorite line by Brew. The Technicolor is my favorite, followed closely by the original blue model. I do not know if I would prefer the strap or bracelet, but both are out of stock at the moment, so I guess I have time. I do really need one of this reasonably priced (for what you get) watches in my collection. I also love the Autodromo Group B Series 2 line. I don't see myself in a green watch, but the Safari model is super cool. I only wish I had heard about them before the Night Stage model sold out. I will probably have to find one used, if I can. The orange one was my second choice, and available for a while, but I just had a couple of orange watch purchases before I discovered it. I don't want to go overboard on the orange watch front.

Anna is such a treat ❤️ I really liked the Brew and have been a fan of Yema for some time. I think their most recent release, the Air Force limited edition, was a great step for the company.
This is the first time I watch a video from your channel and let me tell you that I was blown away with the watches you choose to review, I'm already a subscriber thank you!!!
YEMA is not a micro-brand since it was founded seven decades ago ... What are the arguments to qualify whether or not it is a microbrand for Teo and Harris ???
Great video, I love learning about watch microbrands. Not everybody can afford a Rolex or a Patek, but there's still a ton of us watch enthusiasts that love a good, reasonably priced watch with an interesting design and a good brand history.
Great vid Anna nice review, love the outtakes. I appreciate the true emotional reactions to the product. Interesting to see the micro-brands.... So, what is your five-year plan? See you next week. 🍷👍
Reviews like this give me a consumer need that I must satisfy. I fought it for 2 months - and I failed - I ordered a Brew and an Autodromo. Fuck poverty!
The movement has a quickset date function, and this movement is used in other watches that have a date window. The Navygraf just doesn't have a date window. She probably was just reading from a spec sheet of the in house movement.
Love the video, I don't consider Yema a micro brand, wondering your opinion. They make their own in house movement, but I'm wondering what your opinion on this term is, am I wrong?
OK, I know I'm 16 months late to the party and the video is only 2:53 in, but by god that Brew is stunningly gorgeous. What's up with the yellow ticks between 30 and 35 secs? Dunno, but they look great
I used to be a marshall at the Lombard/RAC Rally in the UK during the era when group B cars were racing. It is without doubt the greatest era of motorsport of any form. If you've never heard of group B, watch some of the videos on You Tube. Crazy does not begin to describe it.
Im chiming in a little late but I bought the retrograph based on this review because I had doubts about the fit on my 6" wrist, but once I wore it it's just way to thick and chunky and kinda heavy for my little wrist...don't get me wrong though I really love the unique design, nothing else like it...I was really torn and sad when I returned it
The Yema is a cool watch, I was hot on Yema for a while purchasing 2 watches then it all started to go south when they took my money for 10 days for a Heritage 63 Scales bracelet and then they sent me and email to say your Yema Privilege coupon is not valid and we want more money when their website accepted the coupon and my money. I didn’t feel good that they made it sound like I did something wrong so after a few more emails trying to come to a middle ground they said no. I got my money back but i can’t help but to feel I’ve been taken for a fool when they took my money for so many days and didn’t say anything. Yema doesn’t really care about customer retention, I’ve already bought 2 watches and really had my eye on at least a few more. The difference was $108, I was very surprised they would let a lifetime customer go over that little bit of money. I loved the brand but it’s run by very short sighted people who were only looking out for their month end commission check.
The Autodromo is gorgeous! For that montage I would have picked a Lancia instead of an Audi for illustrating what those Group B cars were about though :)
Not much love for the Autodromo in the comments! I think it’s an interesting watch, but I feel like you’d only see it in a watch collection with 6+ watches, pretty niche. Once they come out with a more subtle color palate I think it will, in turn, be more palatable
Review Farer please and I want to see more of Anna! I hope microbrands with original designs like these will start to replace the big boys. An eta or sellita have got to be so much more convenient to look after.
"Patent pending" written on the Yema dial?? Are they hoping for their watch to gain iconic status so that the early "patent pending" versions will be all the more coveted?!
The funny thing is the Yema actually has a date complication that is hidden by the dial. The watch uses their in-house MBP1000 movement which has a date. So when you disengage the stem through it's positions, there is a "ghost" date position.
I actually use my $16,000 Rolex to time my 30 (+5 pre-infuse) seconds espresso shots. The satisfaction of watching the sweeping seconds hand is most important.
Would like to see a diver comparison of small brands like the Lorier Neptune (that everyone says is amazing), the Baltic Aquascape), and the RLG Odyssea Mark III.
Fabulous review! I like how you're to the point, but expressing your own panache. The bloopers are great, "orivinated." I am very much a beginner watch collector of small means, but read a lot during Covid. I prefer Microbrands, especially for the uniqueness, pricing, and their customer service can be amazing. Check out Vaer. Very small out of Los Angeles. I like the constant focus they have on sustainability, American manufacturing, and the environment. They even did a short film on sea urchin loss. I'm checking checking out Brew:)
I think the markers are intentional in a vintage mid century orange color and not faux. I looks great! Brew watches are amazing! I need to check them out. I'm working in New Jersey today. It's cool to discover watch making companies around me. RGM Watches is another one not too far away in PA.
A watch is good not only for its appearance or history, now the most important thing is the service, and this company, I say this from my own experience, has a disastrous service
I think most divers are 85% the same aside from whatever little unique twist the designer throws in to make it their own. Not that it's a bad thing. The diver formula is a good one, if it aint broke dont fix it haha
I bought it and the quality control is horrendous. The bezel was terribly misaligned to the point where it's not pleasant to look at the watch. Hi Anna, truly appreciate your kind thoughts on Brew and the other great Micros! -Jonathan
Is is 41.5mm lug to lug? It's a beautiful watch!
Gary King Hi Gary, yes it’s 41.5mm lug to lug and a 38mm width.
Agree I own a Yema and a company that makes a in house movement and is a spec watch for the French military is not a microbrand

Not sure if yema can be called a microbrand considering their history but a great vid regardless!
I agree. Even if you define micro-brands by how many watches they produce (or their capacity to), Yema doesn't meet the requirements.
Family run business that took the heritage of a rather old and prestigious brand in its own way. The senior horologists of the company have 30+ years of experience.
Not to mention the 3 millions euros invested to create the inhouse movement. We can all agree that this is not a micro-brand :)
They were owned by Seiko for sometime

@@saintsaturnoxious8344 I bought a Yema and everything was perfect...

Agree with your POV on Brew watches. Amazing design and incredible value. Autodromo
also does a bunch of cool designs. Group B is another cool piece.
Really like the Brew design, and the outtakes at the end were unexpected but appreciated 😂😂
The content was more interesting last week but the delivery was much better this week. Love your Monday vids Anna. Keep it up!!!
Suggested microbrands for reviews are anOrdain and Lundis Bleus.
Thank you for introducing me to Lundis Bleus. I can't afford them but they've got nice looking watches.
Great taste! I love what anOrdain is doing.
Anna is such a treat ❤️ I really liked the Brew and have been a fan of Yema for some time. I think their most recent release, the Air Force limited edition, was a great step for the company.

Great to see the safari in person. This is the only video I could find on RUclips with it actually in hand 👍
The Autodromo is amazing. Very hard to find. Congratulations for this excellent review. Greetings from Brazil!
They're even better in the hand too, exquisite design that doesn't take a week of wearing to warm up to like most watches end up buying haha

Thanks Anna for reviewing these unique watches! i do especially love Brew watch ... so retro!
I like all three watches but the Brew watch is the one I would go with. It's quite a charming, colorful wristwatch.
mechaquartz blergh
That Yema looks really good actually.
apart from 'patent pending' on the dial - what is that doing on a dial
Michael Bishop it’s based on the original Navygraf which also had ‘Patent Pending’ on the dial.
I bought a Yema Navygraf recently and just love it. I believe it’s the best looking watch on the market. Thanks ⭐️💯👏🏻🇦🇺
Love my navygraf. +1.9 sec in two months according to watch check. Outstanding.
I’ve been thinking about that exact Retrograph for a while-fun casual alternative to my Speedmaster
Excellent excellent video. Loved the presentation and the fact that you reviewed watches Ive been looking for reviews on online. I want all 3.
When I look at these watches I get a Heuer, Blancpain and Sinn vibe!

You mentioned that the Yema has a quickset date but there isnt a date on the dial.
The movement has a quickset date function, and this movement is used in other watches that have a date window. The Navygraf just doesn't have a date window. She probably was just reading from a spec sheet of the in house movement.
check out the Ayrton Blue Bi Compax square Chronograph by BERN. i think its still avail and only for $295!
Movement on the Yema includes a quick set date but no date on the dial ! thanks for the video, nice watches!
Weiss Watches would also be a good one to look at, in a future video.
Love the video, I don't consider Yema a micro brand, wondering your opinion. They make their own in house movement, but I'm wondering what your opinion on this term is, am I wrong?

I saw and really like the brand new Superman Heritage 63, ready for pre-sale July 6. Do you concurr that this is a fair deal and a wrist worthy watch?
I used to be a marshall at the Lombard/RAC Rally in the UK during the era when group B cars were racing. It is without doubt the greatest era of motorsport of any form. If you've never heard of group B, watch some of the videos on You Tube. Crazy does not begin to describe it.
Finally, watches that aren't a shitty rolex on this channel.
You did a great job on this review! Do you have a favor watch you like to wear everyday?
Im chiming in a little late but I bought the retrograph based on this review because I had doubts about the fit on my 6" wrist, but once I wore it it's just way to thick and chunky and kinda heavy for my little wrist...don't get me wrong though I really love the unique design, nothing else like it...I was really torn and sad when I returned it
The Navygraf has a "quickset date"? ?
wait how does yema movement has quick set date function when there’s no date
The movement is made for various models, some which have a date window, others which don't. They call it a ghost date.
I love that you said the Yema has a quick set date..... on a no date watch. You said it like it was a feature.
The brew watch is super interesting
The autodromo $1250 versions are really nice looking. I didn’t care for the one she reviewed but it is their only one below $1000
The Autodromo is gorgeous!
For that montage I would have picked a Lancia instead of an Audi for illustrating what those Group B cars were about though :)
Thank you for the great video and content. Buying from 2 of the 3 featured brands because of this video. Appreciate it.
Cool microbrands! Love all of these examples. I have a Mercer Lexington as my everyday chrono and deserves a mention in this category.
As a roaster and espresso enthusiast, I may need one of these Brew watches.
been trying to buy a retrograph for a while....but they have been sold out.....
Jefferson Duggan will bring that back soon, Jefferson. Planning on having them available in less than two weeks. I’m glad you enjoy the design!
Is now available:

The movement is cased in plastic on the yema
Love the Yema. Their upcoming limited air force watch looks great.
Not much love for the Autodromo in the comments! I think it’s an interesting watch, but I feel like you’d only see it in a watch collection with 6+ watches, pretty niche. Once they come out with a more subtle color palate I think it will, in turn, be more palatable
I love the brew especially being from New Jersey but I just brought a Bulova Lunar pilot so I'm quartz chrono covered right now 🥴
Appreciate that very much! Also, the Bulova Lunar is such a great watch - you did good with that one.
Really like the design of the Brew watch, but the dial looks flat and the choose of text font looks a bit off.
Review Farer please and I want to see more of Anna! I hope microbrands with original designs like these will start to replace the big boys. An eta or sellita have got to be so much more convenient to look after.
The Brew is a little too "inspired" by Tag's Monaco. The Autodromo looks pretty unique, though.
I enjoyed the video. Nicely done. But Yema isn’t a microbrand.
All 3 are interesting watches. Great review :)
"Patent pending" written on the Yema dial?? Are they hoping for their watch to gain iconic status so that the early "patent pending" versions will be all the more coveted?!
Please do more micro brands!
I loved Anna much more as video host
Great video, but you mentioned that the yema has a quick set date. But there doesn't appear to be a date window.

Any chance that you could review a watch from Monta? St. Louis based brand, my home town!
ANNA WHAT IS THE COLD
SORE ON YOUR LIP ?
its funny, I stumbled upon the autodromo a few days and now you are reviewing it. although I like the grey more then the safari green

Make a video on the Yema Pearldiver
This is the way
The autodromo has the best packaging!
Vintage orange aka orange Julius
I think the markers are intentional in a vintage mid century orange color and not faux. I looks great!
Brew watches are amazing! I need to check them out. I'm working in New Jersey today. It's cool to discover watch making companies around me. RGM Watches is another one not too far away in PA.
Brew, yep Heuer Monado was the inspiration there.
Anna we should see your collection
Wow I think this might be a chronograph I can actually easily read. Wait... all those extra markings. Guess it’s not that bad
2:10 missed opportunity for a Wilhelm Scream. May the 4th be with you Anna
I like the first one ❤️❤️
I'd say that if you make your own movements you cannot really be called a microbrand
A watch is good not only for its appearance or history, now the most important thing is the service, and this company, I say this from my own experience, has a disastrous service
Yema is a well established brand since 1948, so is not a microbrand.
I just thought micro brand just meant smaller brand (regardless how long they've been around).
Nice watch 👍
Is it me or Yema kind of looks like the Blancpain Fifty Fathoms Barakuda with a twist ?
I think most divers are 85% the same aside from whatever little unique twist the designer throws in to make it their own. Not that it's a bad thing. The diver formula is a good one, if it aint broke dont fix it haha
Yema is a microband now? Since when?
Love this!
Man I like the look of those brew watches. Will have to pick one up
I need that Auto Dromo
I bought it and the quality control is horrendous. The bezel was terribly misaligned to the point where it's not pleasant to look at the watch. That Brew is astonishing! Too bad it’s not available. On the Brew website it seems that most watches are sold out :(
Will have availability in 2 short weeks. Thanks for checking us out, Ivan!

more please - how about some zelos?
Today I learnt that Anna has thicker wrists than I do.
😂😂😂
I'm a fan of Happy Mondays
I love this woman
Good video!!! The most interesting thing is Brew Watch at $350 looks way better than the otter two at $700 & $900.
She looks a lot better than the watch
I soo badly wished Brew would bring the hp-1 back. They ran out too quickly.

YEMA is a microbrand the same way Alpine is a new car brand.
I love you, Anna.
Hahaha you show paper boxes! Just show this yema package
Auto-Dromo, No. Ah-oo-Toh-droh-moh.
Brews customer service is great too
Thank you for your appreciation!
