That's what volume knobs are for. And if you'd like any help along your audio journey, hit me up. I've been doing live audio for 30 years. I'd be happy to lend my ears.
I’ve had the Brew now for about 3 weeks and loving it! It has rarely left my wrist due to its wearability and it’s keeping my Grand Seiko Shunbun aside 😅 Anyway, the subdial you mentioned in the video isn’t to time the brewing of coffee. It’s the orange at the bottom of the inner bezel (25 sec-35 sec) which is used for that case. I make my own coffee daily so I’ve been using this smart feature and it’s super helpful! The 10 o clock subdial that you mentioned is actually the minutes subdial (60 mins), which is divided into every 10 minutes with an orange color. This is a brilliant move by Jonathan so it helps someone to better read that subdial. Loving your videos and this fun review of the Brew! So glad I got it a month ago because it’ll be out of stock for sometime after your review 😄
Really cool catch, i just got an espresso machine and been trying to dial in for that desired extraction time window. I’ve loved the retromatic and missed the sale, however if i could snag one of these up it would definitely “help” with my espresso experience. Cheers!
@@BrittPearceWatches Yes!! I'm just getting into the world of watches so I was unsure what to expect but I'm glad I followed this watch for about 9 months and now I have it! Great purchase and I'm wearing it this weekend to a wedding
The VK68 usually has another sub dial on the right, displaying the time on a 24 hour scale, so the date is moved to the 4:30 position. Brew made the right choice of removing the 24 hour sub dial, because it's not very useful.
Nothing about this watch should appeal to me. I want conservative dial, round case, mechanical movement, good water resist. And yet.... yeah I can see why people like this. Definitely. Thanks for sharing, Brittany, nice vid.
Glad to see a review of a watch that has some unique styling. Lately it feels like I'm only seeing Tudor reviews on RUclips. Can't seem to escape them. That's about as exciting as a review of a white t-shirt.
Was not prepared for her to say coffee with a NYC/Jersey accent lol. But loved this review and got mine a few months back and couldn't be happier with it. They're retromatic is also pretty cool too.
Nice one Britt, this explains why I'm not great with making quarfi. A great fun watch that doesn't take itself too seriously. I think I want one but as you mention it's sold out so tough t*****s. So duff quarfi for me then until a re-stock.
Thank you very much for sharing your kind thoughts and appreciation for the Metric watch! Really enjoyed watching you speak about all of the watch details. -Jonathan Ferrer
Good review Britt . For me you would be a natural whiskey and watches critic . What makes you different and adorable is your zany approach and methods. As one watch vlogger said "she's crazy man" please keep your unique identity and stand out from the crowd. PS love your accent and the way you quaffee.! Now get some whiskey dig out a watch and be yourself and tell it as it is. With a bit of zany fun! We need people like you in this mad bad world right now. ..... Ever considered being priminister? I love the design of the Metric, but I totally agree with you on the logo. The coffee bean seems a little dinky even though I'm a total coffee snob. Also, the fact that they seem to be constantly sold out of their best designs is frustrating and pretty much means I don't consider them when I'm looking to buy a new watch.
HiYa BP ! Love your vids ! You mentioned "splashes of color" and your affinity of. That being the case, i saw a Teddy Baldassarre vid yesterday on Louis Erard. Im thinking they have you in mind when designing them so i thought id mention it. As always Thank you for your vids and your light hearted commentary. 🍻💐
I say this every time I see a VK movement watch reviewed. Yeah, mecaquartz is slick, but the VK68 stops timing after 60 minutes. Nearly everything I time is longer than 60 minutes. Parking. Turkey roasting. Hike or bike ride. It seems like every modern chronograph has a VK movement in them but they kind of suck when it comes to really timing most things. But, yeah, the Brew is a great looking watch. The blank space in the top right is because the VK68 has a standard 24 hour subdial there that's been deleted in this watch. I support that move. While it's not as bad as a chronograph that can't time more than 60 minutes, 24 hour subdials are annoying and mostly useless unless you work at the south pole or on a submarine. We all know Astronauts wear Omegas.....
The watch arrived today in Germany (2 days later after I ordererd) Really impressed by rhe quality, wearability and "funability" - you get a lot for under Eur 450 (incl. shipment)❤ ❤❤

argh missed it last time it was in stock. Went to bed, and checked the net before I logged of, it was in stock. Thought I could wait until morning....but no...ARGH!!! Next time I say...next time...
So the last run of this watch, which sells out every time it’s offered, was on August 15th at 10am. I had my payment confirmation at 10:00:30am. Yes, I really wanted this watch. When it arrived I was happy with the sizing, fit, and thought the bracelet was great. The only issue I have is the finishing. As a whole the finishing is fine but under the crystal there is a ledge, outside the circular dial, that is highly polished. Polished to a point where it looks like cheap chrome plating and it bothers the hell out of me. Others may not get that vibe but I’ve always had an issue with this in watches and actually backed out of a TAG Heuer Carrera re-issue I’d ordered from an AD many years ago because the hands had that same high polish cheap chrome look to them. It ruined the entire watch for me and I was pretty gutted about it. As for this watch I’m not sure I can keep it. I do love what Brew is doing and how they are a truly unique Micro Brand not in it for the quick cash grab I feel most of them are. If you can’t be original don’t waste my time. The market is already flooded with sub $1k homage/look-alike/copy trash whose only distinction is the brand name printed at the top. Brew understands what a Micro Brand should be and is able to do it at a paltry $400 price tag. Great stuff! I do wish they would have picked a different brand name though. It’s like starting a company to make dive watches and naming it “Swim.” He could have named it “Arrosto” which is Italian for roast; like roasting coffee beans. Sounds much better and still ties in with the coffee angle. Regardless, I’m convinced a better name is out there that says what he wants with a little more panache. If that makes me a snob I’ll gladly wear it with pride. Side Note: I’m sure it’s already been mentioned but you said the 25-35sec espresso shot timing was done on the sub-dial you highlighted but it’s actually on the chapter ring where it changes from green to yellow. Not a big deal and far less embarrassing than saying “quaffee.” 😉 TBH I like the quirkiness of it in the same way I like this watch so please don’t ever stop saying it like that.
The date would look good at 2 in a framed window. Cramming it at the bottom between markers when there's so much empty space on the dial really doesn't work.
I just found your channel this evening. You're kind of delightful. :) Regarding the Metric, I bought the black and the silver. Such cool pieces for my collection. I've seen a couple of reviewers complain about the date window placement, but, though 6 o'clock is my preferred (like my Brew Retromatic), the 4:30 beats 3 o'clock in my book and I think it just works with this watch. Anyway, cool, funky watches that look great on my 6.75ish inch wrist and that I'll enjoy for a while. It looks like Jonathan increased the prices from just under $400 to $425, but I think that's warranted since they far exceed that on the re-sale market.
Gringa!! Never snobby, maybe pretentious? HAHA Nice review of a watch maker, of which I was not aware. At first this watch reminded me of the Erard collab watches. Anyhow, I have never been a fan of the 1970's square style watches, I don't think this one will make it into my collection, but I do know of those who would appreciate this watch as a gift. Thanks for sharing a great video and content as always. And for the additional bonus of being serenaded, I raise a Lagavulin 16 to the Cult. Long may the Gringa reign! What a babe! I'm really getting into colourful watches after my "vanilla" IWC Mark 16... considering Nomos Club pink / blue, or Doxa Carbon orange or baby blue DAMN THIS WATCH HOBBY! TOO ADDICTIVE! SO MANY WATCHES, SO LITTLE MONEY!!!
loved the video coz of you being so real about your take on watch collecting I can totally relate to everything you're saying Been a big fan of brew since ever but its still expensive when you convert those dollars
Hola Britt! This really is a fun watch. I ultimately sold mine solely because it felt weird on my wrist. I didn’t have that “connection”. It looked amazing in the watch box haha. I wish it suited me better, because it’s such an eye catcher, and I love what Brew is doing. If they ever make a fully mechanical version of the same style/color scheme, a wee bit larger, I’d be tempted again.
Ahhh you gotta have that connection! It’s so important. I’ve had that woth watches too! But I’ve also had that connection with watches I thought I wouldn’t like. 😱 watch collecting is weird!
So why exactly IS the date window down there instead of between, 1 and 2 or 2 and 3? Seems like everything else could be the same, just punch a hole in a different place
Funny how every single chronograph review has that chrono hand act like a seconds hand. It's even engaged when you open the box apparently. Is it that visually bothering in its idle state (in which it will mostly be during the course of the watch's life)?
I'm a big fan of the retrograph technicolor and wasn't a fan of this one UNTIL I watched your review. It looks so much more fun once I saw it at many more angles than their website highlights. I had no idea the the dial was inlaid such that the turquois markers were at an angle. Gives it a totally different dimension and fun aesthetic than a straight on shot. now which one to buy?!?!?!
You don't believe this. I just sitting to table for have dinner 😄😄😄😄 I fall in love with other Brew, the Retrograph, but I recognize that Metric is very, very interesting. Had you see the Singer Barista nominated to GPHG? Beautiful but 27000chf
Not my cup of … coffee. But I do like these alternative reviews. 👍 It’s not all Rolex, Omega, Tudor and euhm whatever else is interesting. Maybe you can try Baltic sometime? (Or maybe you have already) 😎

I like coffee, I like Brew and I like the Metric Retro - it is cool and funky and fun. Not sure I would buy one but I still like it!

Hello Britt,
This is my first time viewing your channel.
So it's all about "Pure Fun" you say.....I get that!!!
A few months back I decided it would be fun to see if there's a quartz watch I would enjoy wearing.
Nothing clicked.
Until I met a watch I never even new existed,
The Hamilton Ventura!
Released in 1957, it was the first wrist watch in the world that was powered by electricity ( but not quartz as those were still many years away) and made famous by none other than Elvis Presley, of all people... and in still production with a plethora of variations.
And my AD (Metals in Time)
Had most in stock.
I was shocked such a watch was still being made with several versions of it on display.
how did I miss this?
Who would wear it?
Then I made the biggest mistake ever and tried on this piece of Hamilton History.
My AD, even innocently insisted on sized up the bracelet before trying it on. (The evil bastard that he is...he knew exactly what he was doing.)
Because the minute I secure the butterfly clasp I was doomed.
This anachronism from the 50's disappeared on my wrist.
It was that comfortable.
Amazing!
Six months later ...When I wear it I smile like an idiot every time I.... check the time.
Mine is the "Elvis 80" anniversary edition, because it just had to be.
They offer with either a Quartz or an ETA mechanical movement.
But in my opinion there is only one way to buy this piece of horological History and that's the one that requires a battery.
Beautiful to behold, the workmanship is phenomenal (after all it's a Hamilton) and the Ventura is definitely the most off the wall, dynamic, and just plain joyful watch in my watch box
In spades.
So yeah, I get it.
Don't forget the fun of it all people.

Basically a Swatch with metal casing and bracelet.
As opposed to what? Would you say the same about an Omega with a quartz movement?
I concur on the coffee statement

I'm a big fan of the retrograph technicolor and wasn't a fan of this one UNTIL I watched your review. It looks so much more fun once I saw it at many more angles than their website highlights. I had no idea the the dial was inlaid such that the turquois markers were at an angle. Gives it a totally different dimension and fun aesthetic than a straight on shot. now which one to buy?!?!?!
I am getting very old and grumpy … but inspired by espresso machines 🤣 I fear for the future of the world. But I agree it looks cool !
You don't believe this. I just sitting to table for have dinner 😄😄😄😄
I fall in love with other Brew, the Retrograph, but I recognize that Metric is very, very interesting.
Had you see the Singer Barista nominated to GPHG? Beautiful but 27000chf
Ouuu the Retrograph is very cool! 😱 AND NOOO! I gotta go check out the GPHG nominees!

Our lovely Gringa apoligizing for her pronunciation gets me every time 😄😄 When you are that cute, you are allowed to butcher every name 👋
BAHAHA I have so many pronunciations to apologise for! 😂🙈 but you are much too kind!
Not my cup of … coffee. But I do like these alternative reviews. 👍 It’s not all Rolex, Omega, Tudor and euhm whatever else is interesting. Maybe you can try Baltic sometime? (Or maybe you have already) 😎
WELL! I am currently in the talks with Monta! 😜 more brands coming soon!
@@BrittPearceWatches That’s Monta good. I like them actually. Can’t wait to see the video 😀😎
FYI the Omega Jedi, is the true inspiration for this watch.
Price gone up... supply and demand
The now vintage SNL sketch Coffee Talk with Linda Richmond said quaffee like that.
What's to dislike about coffee or quaffee?
