As someone who recently got Mahjong Master, some of the shit Cider's going for scares me way too much to attempt lmao There are some truly insane achievement grinds...
You mean this wasn’t the first thing u did? I always wanted to learn so was heckin happy when i saw it in xiv, though i had to play soul to actually improve and transferred those skills back to xiv to become master
"i'm a dps so nobody cares if i suck, they can't even tell probably" is funnier when you remember he was judging the black mages in the last video for using fire 1
I mean on one hand if you're doing any sort of MMO content creation chances are you're going to make party dynamic based jokes frequently to maintain your audience. On the other hand being upset the fight took an extra 30 seconds because you're literally on a never ending grind is dumb.
After many long nights on the front, I managed to slap another video together! Hopefully we can do this weekly! Speaking of weekly... which achievements have you gotten this week?
1M Ocean fishing points (side benefit of getting the Mora minion, now just three minions left in the game to get), finished grade 3 Diadem mining and fishing, now working on grade 3 Diadem botany, then after that I'll do the grade 3 crafters, and then it's off to the Pteranodon mines until I can leave Ishgard restoration behind for good
Last Five: Elemental Sword, Lodestar Fishing Rod, 30 Immortal Flames Frontline Wins, 120 Unique Weaver Levequests, and Amazing Manderville Torquetum, bringing me to a total of 21,160.
Ahhhhh, when you speak of the Fishing Achievements, it brings a tear to my eye. They can simultaneously be some of the most relaxing, and frustrating, ones to go for, at the same time. But I'll tell you this: I love my "Big Fish" title. I rarely ever take it off. And I was both surprised and elated when SE added a Big Fish Framer's Kit. I use the background all the time in my portraits. :D
Hey man just so you hear it, I love achievement grind channels and fun short form progress videos are always nice… But, your delivery is amazing and it makes me happy when I see you post videos
For the length of the video, I'd say half an hour, just like this, is great! It's a lot of content, it's fun to watch, and it's just the right amount for a weekly upload!
This series inspired me to start doing levequests and working towards achievements more seriously. I've always been an achievement hunter in games and had already been sort of half-assedly chasing a bunch so you gave me the extra push to actually figure out what the biggest grinds are and what to prioritize, as well as starting to keep track of what I get each week to stay motivated. Also to answer the question of "what do DPS players even do during queues", that's usually when I do a lot of my dailies/weeklies like tribe quests, custom deliveries, sending out Squadrons and Retainers, gathering my daily treasure map, mini-Cactpot, etc. If I run out of those I start using it to grind out stuff like FATE rank or Triple Triad stuff. There's plenty of achievement grinds you can make progress on while waiting in a queue! My achievements this week: - Level 80 Miner, Botanist, and Dark Knight (plus the achievement for omni-gatherer level 80) - 90 deliveries to Ehll Tou and 36 to Charlemend - 50 uses of the Aetherometric Augur in the Diadem - A whole assload of PvP achievements at once; I got my 10th win on Seal Rock which also got me level 50 with the Maelstrom, so then I switched to Immortal Flames and got 1 frontline win which catapulted me to level 10 with them, netting 4 Flames achievements at once.
I appreciate the Bozja Castrum Lacus Litore tips because when I ran it first time not long ago I had no clue what was going on the entire time. I was just following my party. The "Sprout Killer" was in indeed a Sprout Killer.
Three things to take away for me from this video: 1. Apparently I'm not the only one who sees a 10+ minute queue, and thinks "I could buy some new gear off the vendor in the meantime", only then to have the queue pop after two frickin' minutes while I'm in the vendor menu. 2. I've only played FFXIV for a year, and I'm ahead of you on retainer ventures. In fact, I've finished those achievements. Yay me, I'm feeling good about myself now 3. I really should finally start picking up Machinist, I've put it off so far. On the plus side, I do very much like my Dancer heals, thank you very much
I think these videos are the perfect length (but I'd totally have them on in the background as I do my own grind if they were longer)! And as others have said, love your more "unscripted" sense of humor just as much as the Mad Because Small videos. So many smiles and laughs watching your content! I'm a fan of the Shadowbringer's zones too; really happy the new relic tools brought us back to Norvrandt to enjoy!
I sort of feel for the Shadowbringers love. When you get Anden, you'll be heading back to Fairyland to help him out so you'll have more time to spend with the pixies. ;)
I have a lot of content creators that I like to watch, so these days I'm finding 20-30 minute videos are kind of the sweet spot. This is especially true if it's a weekly video, I'd love to have something to look forward to but know that I don't have to set aside my evening for it. As someone who loves completionism in games, I definitely felt overwhelmed by XIV's list and have not let myself pursue it too persistently because I will burn out. But it's making me really satisfied to watch YOU go through the journey, so I can sort of get that feeling of accomplishment vicariously. So thanks for this series!
You make great videos, you've got the humor, you've got the style, and you've got a great voice. You make the video however long you want it to be, and I'll enjoy it short or long.
Welcome to the grind, brother. I'm sitting at #37 on my leaderboard on Faerie (Aether DC), with around 21,000 points (in game, including time limited achievements from days gone by). I applaud your commitment to the bozja stuff, that takes me a lot of mental patience to get into. Good luck with the leves, I finished out the grand company ones a while back and have been doing battlecraft leves every morning before work and every evening after work that I am home. Takes me five minutes and I can just call that good. Good luck with Triple Triad, Mahjong, and fishing. I have the Big Fish title, and it took me almost a year and a half to catch all the special ones. Godspeed, good luck, we're all counting on you.
no video is too long for me. i've watched 8 hour videos before and loved every second of it, i even rewind if i have to get up and go cook (i like to leave it running instead of pausing, so my pc doesn't go to sleep). i fully recognise i am an outlier however, and i highly doubt you'd make videos that long, so i'm going to say that i would be 100% okay with an hour long video in your style :) i am also very happy with these half hour videos though, considering they're already longer than the average! and i enjoyed this video too! and i look forward to watching you stream more achievements to eventually turn into videos with more of your added commentary!
I wouldn't mind you making these videos as long as your heart feels! If it's too long to watch in one sitting, I just get to pause it and pick it up the next day and it gets me further thru the week to the next video!
Charity Chadheart- you can get BONKERS prep fragments from reflect farming in Bozja- You can go to Eorzean weather to see when they pop- Different weathers will spawn different sprites- but this is awesome for Prep, care, and support frags. On another note a Cider Spider video can be as long as you want! I dig the voice and your sense of humour bro.
top gamer for sure. i've ran castrum with 3 people before and solo'd top as whm (healers are so broken in there lmao) best of luck with your future achievement hunting
I have no bloody idea how the bottom fight at the beginning of Castrum looks like, somehow I always ended up at the top. I'm fine with longer videos but to narrow it down I would say around 60-90 minutes. Also great video! Can't wait to see more of the series and Good Luck with all the Achievement hunting!
On the Aether data center, the Lyon party is free-for-all by tradition. You want up there, you gotta be quick. Fun story, I was doing CLL as BLM with only 8 ppl total. This means that only 7 will fight Lyon, since there must always be at least one to tend to his menagerie. And if that one person falls, it'll wipe out the pt fighting Lyon. So everyone else goes to fight Lyon, and I'm just freaking out trying to kite like 30 rabid coerls and beetles... it was pretty funny actually.
I never even played Shadowbringers as current content, and I feel the same sort of coziness when doing Shadowbringers stuff. Just something about the music, the zones, the characters, it just strikes a chord with me.
I think 30-45 minutes would be a fine target length for one of these videos. The odd vid thats longer would just be a treat! Your commentary is wonderful to listen too
I'm mostly listening while working with stealing glances at the video and easily would've loved a video twice as long. Constantly finding myself cracking up and loving the commentary.
Thank you for making this content during this draught season of 14, i will have to go back to bozja and zadnor for that sweet 50 run as well as my leves. Appreciate the video!
However long you want to make these videos is okay by me! You've inspired me to start my FF14 achievement grind (though, I always knew this day would come, and the pressure of the levequest achievements just kept building and building). I'm trying to take it slow so I don't burn myself out so this week I only got some Hunt mark achievos, but I did make some good progress on others. 😁
the thing i love the most about bozja/resistance relic weapons, as long as you have the quests sitting in your log you can passively farm them while doing various roulettes
Not sure if you are unaware or just didn't explain clearly in the video, but the 2nd CLL boss will use 3 elements each fight: Water (always), either Fire or Ice, then one of Wind, Lightning, or Earth. The real cursed combo is Fire + Earth. Don't move because Pyretic, but also you have to move because Earth does the circle -> progressively expanding ring thing. The only real out there is standing at the outermost ring when the mechanic starts, so you have about a second after Pyretic expires to move into the 2nd (hopefully now resolved) ring.
Nice to know that FFXIV doesn't put achievements on your list that you can't get anymore and the online sites do the same thing. It would really piss me off if I had those, considering how many games I avoided on the PS4 because some of them require online trophies you can never get anymore and those trophies sit on your list, forever locked and as visible as cankers. You're amazing. As a trophy hunter who had to redo his account many times because of trophies he couldn't complete at his age, I am glad to see someone try to get everything in FFXIV even if it takes your entire life. ^_^ And you're a Lalafell too, which is my favorite race. My current Endwalker clearer is a female Lalafell called Nemona Rookie so if you see her running around your server, wave hi! ^_^
I'm sitting at 37/50 Castrum Lacus Litore runs. I really hate doing more than one in a day, as I find it rather taxing in how boring it is (since run #10 or so, anyway). Oh, and I gained 100 points since the first achievement video. In last week's video, I had 18250 points. Now I have 18350. Today, I got the ALC skybuilders' alembic (from scratch) for 20 points. Other notable recent achievements include killing my 500th A rank hunt mark, getting DRG to level 90 and getting the first tier of its Endwalker relic weapon. Also, I'm a bottom gamer (in the context of Castrum Lacus Litore of course).
i’m apart of the opinion that if the video is 9 hours or longer that isn’t a stream it’s too long, also you have some dope commentary my dude glad to be a new viewer
Im willing to sit through tons of this because my short attention span is pleased with the many skips to 'thing happens' and 'funny man make funny lah mayo'
I did a crafting food session during this video so that's the ideal length for me, one crafting food. I use the food manuals to make sure each food lasts 45 mins, but if someone isn't using that then a 30min video covers their crafting! I noticed you passing on gear drops in dungeons, but have you got the desynth achievement yet? Casual gear dr ops from dungeons did a lot of numbers when it came to my gear. Also if you haven't got the achievement for levelling all of your trusts to 90 yet, that's an excellent way to gather xp for jobs, it's how I got a few of my jobs raised up.
Random loot drops are also the best way to get company seals, which you need a lot of to get all of the ARR relics. I've been greeding on everything, turning them into seals, and then stocking up on Bombard Cores and shit to eventually get every ARR relic at once. That's also where most of my Poetics go - stocking up for ARR and HW relics.
There is literally no limit in my opinion, so long as you don't burn yourself out and enjoy making them I shall sit here and enjoy watching/listening to them while I play FF14 on my main monitor.
mid video comment: Chief kiss on having the chocobo theme play during hunt for the red choctober. post video comment take two: personally speaking i think 30 min videos are a sweet spot. Could try to make an hour long video to test the waters, and adjust accordingly. I've been watching your content here lately as i grind out mats for the food i plan to use at my RP venue. I'm largely grinding roughly 500-999 of each item and bulk crafting about 891 items of food.. which is 4 meal items, 7 alcoholic drinks, 7 non-alcoholic drinks, and 4 desserts. ya.. i'm a masochist with gathering... anyway your videos/voice/ content helps keep me focused, and enjoy every bit of the humor. Cheering you on from the Siren server!
Video length feedback: For a weekly video series, I'm happy to watch up to an hour, personally. Might not watch it all in one sitting, but I often pause/play to get through even 10 minute videos most days :P
Since I can't watch your streams, this is definitely a wonderful series for me to watch :D. And as for top or bottom... can't say I've done it enough to find a comfortable spot :P. And for video time... I've sat through 4 hour vids about 30 min shows.. I don't think I have a limit there lol. The joy of multi-monitors.
The continued popularity of both Eureka and Bozja just really shows how they dropped the ball in not having a field operations zone in Endwalker. It’s some of the best content to have on hand for content lulls.
Your unscripted, unpolished humor is every bit as good, in a different way, as the polished and scripted Mad Because Small humor. Still looking forward to the next MBS and the videos covering the holiday events, but this series scratches a very specific itch, so keep it up!
I can't wait for the moment Cider realizes he has to not only learn mahjong, but get good enough to consistently win.
As someone who recently got Mahjong Master, some of the shit Cider's going for scares me way too much to attempt lmao
There are some truly insane achievement grinds...
You mean this wasn’t the first thing u did? I always wanted to learn so was heckin happy when i saw it in xiv, though i had to play soul to actually improve and transferred those skills back to xiv to become master
I got Astrope (1,000 mentor roulettes) 6 years ago...
Mahjong scares me :(
eventually he'll have to solo all deep dungeons, I'm looking forward to that
"i'm a dps so nobody cares if i suck, they can't even tell probably"
is funnier when you remember he was judging the black mages in the last video for using fire 1
True but machinist doesn’t have a cast bar so it’s easier to hide your incompetence
The dichotomy of playing DPS
@@Nicatmidnight As long as you keep hitting those reassembled drills nobody will notice that you're missing half of your overheats.
I mean on one hand if you're doing any sort of MMO content creation chances are you're going to make party dynamic based jokes frequently to maintain your audience. On the other hand being upset the fight took an extra 30 seconds because you're literally on a never ending grind is dumb.
I'd easily listen to an hour long of your shenanigans, love the achievement series, take care Cider ❤
After many long nights on the front, I managed to slap another video together! Hopefully we can do this weekly! Speaking of weekly... which achievements have you gotten this week?
I recently got one of those achievements for doing the Eden Prime fight 10 times by chance just cause I got it in roulette lol
1M Ocean fishing points (side benefit of getting the Mora minion, now just three minions left in the game to get), finished grade 3 Diadem mining and fishing, now working on grade 3 Diadem botany, then after that I'll do the grade 3 crafters, and then it's off to the Pteranodon mines until I can leave Ishgard restoration behind for good
10000 large sized fish, "The One That Didn't Get Away IV".... and I still haven't caught all the big fish yet
Funnily enough, Dalriada Raider. Been leveling a lot of my jobs through Zadnor so it came naturally... but I am never touching that shit again.
Something about "I like the part where I build the gauge and then spend the gauge" really sent me
30-45 minutes is a good length for this particular format. keep it up, Angry Small One!
Frankly Spider you're my favourite background talking noise so I'm happy with these being as long as you have the suffering for.
Hey man just so you hear it, I love achievement grind channels and fun short form progress videos are always nice…
But, your delivery is amazing and it makes me happy when I see you post videos
For the length of the video, I'd say half an hour, just like this, is great! It's a lot of content, it's fun to watch, and it's just the right amount for a weekly upload!
Everybody is going to be different, but I enjoy watching these kinds of videos over dinner or breakfast, so 45-50 minutes is the sweet spot!

My achievements this week:
- Level 80 Miner, Botanist, and Dark Knight (plus the achievement for omni-gatherer level 80)
- 90 deliveries to Ehll Tou and 36 to Charlemend
- 50 uses of the Aetherometric Augur in the Diadem
- A whole assload of PvP achievements at once; I got my 10th win on Seal Rock which also got me level 50 with the Maelstrom, so then I switched to Immortal Flames and got 1 frontline win which catapulted me to level 10 with them, netting 4 Flames achievements at once.
You've inspired me to do a little achievement hunting of my own. Currently #43 on Exodus. God help us.
I appreciate the Bozja Castrum Lacus Litore tips because when I ran it first time not long ago I had no clue what was going on the entire time. I was just following my party. The "Sprout Killer" was in indeed a Sprout Killer.
I like this format, I'll never complain for more if you have the energy for it but I'm happy with it as is :)
Three things to take away for me from this video:
1. Apparently I'm not the only one who sees a 10+ minute queue, and thinks "I could buy some new gear off the vendor in the meantime", only then to have the queue pop after two frickin' minutes while I'm in the vendor menu.

Genuinely loving this series and I'd happily watch much longer video's. Definitely inspiring to keep climbing those achievement hunter ranks.

But it's making me really satisfied to watch YOU go through the journey, so I can sort of get that feeling of accomplishment vicariously. So thanks for this series!
I'd easily be able to listen to a solid hour of this stuff or more it's fun to listen all the things ya have to do to hunt these achievements
I watch 4-5 hour videos frequently, so there is no too long. you're great to watch on my second screen while playing
longform content is my personal preference, so if you upload this long or longer, I'll happily be here!
You make great videos, you've got the humor, you've got the style, and you've got a great voice. You make the video however long you want it to be, and I'll enjoy it short or long.
This is the exact kind of content to relax to after a long day. Make em as long as you want, I'm not going anywhere
I love this series! Achievement grinds are what keep me subbed consistently, and I love hearing your commentary while doing the same thing!
I really like longer videos - I regularly watch 1 hour + long videos while doing my dailies etc.
I literally watch these videos for the commentary. That commentary is funny AF.
I can't speak for everyone but I love this kind of content! I'll watch as much as you publish.
"I'm asking in the context of Castrum Lacus,. of course." Man knew EXACTLY what some little shit like me was gonna say without the clarification XD
Welcome to the grind, brother. I'm sitting at #37 on my leaderboard on Faerie (Aether DC), with around 21,000 points (in game, including time limited achievements from days gone by).
Found your videos while doing my own crafting achievement grind and now I'm just binging them all while I craft
I cant wait for the day Cider Spider is thrusted into Eureka for all the relics+BA clears
Good sense of humor, good voice, interesting concept, keep it coming, take the time you need for your story. I'm listening
Hang in there with the rough roulettes my dude, but congrats on your Bozja! Also I actually find your long videos really fun to listen to while I work
I have no bloody idea how the bottom fight at the beginning of Castrum looks like, somehow I always ended up at the top.

Just something about the music, the zones, the characters, it just strikes a chord with me.
We can never truly escape, Viera Voice 7.
I like the longer videos, gives me something to watch/listen to on my other monitor while I grind my own achievements
Cider: How much of this video are you willing to sit through
Me: *just binged 4 of these videos back to back*
I think 30-45 minutes would be a fine target length for one of these videos. The odd vid thats longer would just be a treat!
Your commentary is wonderful to listen too
I'm mostly listening while working with stealing glances at the video and easily would've loved a video twice as long.
Constantly finding myself cracking up and loving the commentary.
This series is fantastic best of luck in your endeavors!
Bottom gamer here!
Make the video as long as you'd like this is good stuff.
Machinist 100% needs juice box 😆
I like the half hour chunks. You are a mad lad and I respect you.
Oh hey the Castrum run that I saw you in made it into the video! We had very big DPS that run.
I will literally watch this madness endlessly! Apologies to your editing time xD But I'm loving the series and the long vids!

Great video man! I personally don't mind long videos as much but I do think around thirty minutes seems like a good length.

Absolutely love listening to these videos while grinding my own stuff. Would watch 1-2 hour vids no problem, even without milestones in them
Literally just finished your first achievement video like an hour ago... Thank you for continuing.
I look forward to your "nonsense". It's the best part of my week.
20:36 I mean tanks and healers are also DPS. How good they are it depends on comparing every class separately.
I'm sitting at 37/50 Castrum Lacus Litore runs. I really hate doing more than one in a day, as I find it rather taxing in how boring it is (since run #10 or so, anyway).
I love those new vids Cider! ❤ They are truly great and I enjoy them so much
There is literally no limit in my opinion, so long as you don't burn yourself out and enjoy making them I shall sit here and enjoy watching/listening to them while I play FF14 on my main monitor.
definitely a power bottom in reference to the castrum of course. Love the videos :D
These videos got me inspired. Up to 14225 achievement score now!
I'm loving the videos, keep it up man. I dont think this one was too long. I mean...giga chad odin glam guy believes so too.
I like the pitch to become a machinist, "sure you could hold a sword, or a lance, or.... you could shoot a gun!" :D
Not the Lost Odyssey reference 😭😭😭 Cider you truly are A GAMER
mid video comment: Chief kiss on having the chocobo theme play during hunt for the red choctober.
post video comment take two: personally speaking i think 30 min videos are a sweet spot.
Crank these videos loooooooong, I love having these on in the background while I'm doing my own stuff.
Tbh, I'd easily love to listen to an hour or two of this every week.
These are actually fantastic to listen to in the background while I to achievement hunt.
Yeah, i'll say 45 - 60 mins would be ok with me.
Thanks Cider for giving tips on the content on the side too.
Good luck on your future adventures.
Mad because Achievement. Who let the Smol Child have a Gun? You've doomed us all.
honestly these could be an hour long and I would watch them! +1 vote for the longer vids
I like the length of your vids ❤️ they're nice to listen to while playing Theatrythm
Great video, especially looking forward to the other relic weapon grinds.
I really enjoy these types of videos in the 30-60 minute range
I like the long vids. I've been leveling my crafter/gatherers so the vids on my second monitor help with the boredom.
i just recently found your channel but holy shit man you are a blast to watch!
These videos are great, happy with any length video
27:00 LOL the gunbreaker timed it perfectly to make it look like he died
I'd watch a video as long as an hour, Cider Spider, half an hour is fine
Great video, CIder. Good work. Shared!
given your goal the length of these are cool, also i do enjoy the commentary :D
The continued popularity of both Eureka and Bozja just really shows how they dropped the ball in not having a field operations zone in Endwalker.
It’s some of the best content to have on hand for content lulls.
29 minutes and 59 seconds is the magical duration of the videos
Your unscripted, unpolished humor is every bit as good, in a different way, as the polished and scripted Mad Because Small humor. Still looking forward to the next MBS and the videos covering the holiday events, but this series scratches a very specific itch, so keep it up!
This is amazing
