With the amount if effort you seem to put into your videos, just about any FF14 content* from you will be well liked by your community. *edit - missing word.
You did miss the most important reward from Wondrous Tales, since it's not so relevant this late in the cycle for GAMERS: 9 stickers in the catbook is a clean 50% of an XP bar for any combat job.
Car washes are important if you live somewhere where they salt the roads because the salt will corrode the underside of your car and needs to be cleaned off. And obviously cleaning your car keeps it looking nice and helps maintain the paint. Most car cleaning can be done at home but if you don’t have a hose or time going through a car wash had its advantages.
I once was trapped in a Ktsis where the warrior tank just could not keep themselves alive, while the sage healer kept accidentally healing themselves instead of, oh, anyone who might actually need healing. It took FOREVER and was one of the most baffling dungeon experiences I've ever had.
16:20 gonna lore nerd here. The differences in stylizing is because the gothic look of the void is actually void built stuff. while the void ark was built by the mhachi. NOT the voidsent themselves. It was simple powered by the void.
This was fun to watch, it's a change from your usual videos. Especially when you stand in things most players would avoid like the plague. Also, your gameplay helped me get better at SCH.
Vids like these make me wanna get into content creation of my own. Just chill run throughs of content to talk in and have conversations with myself and an audience. Love your stuff Cider ❤
16:10 This happens a lot with mystery plot in fiction. In World of Warcraft, goddess Elune was the last bastion of mystery and coolness. Then they explained her. And she became lame.
Always turn in WT as a class that isn't 90, because you're basically throwing away half a level if you don't. I think cider already maxed everything, but it's worth mentioning for the comments section
6:30 What I want them to do is to replace the now very outdated Hall of the Novice with a duty support dungeon that walks new players through the basics. Like: * Trash pull that talks them through the basics of enmity, mitigation, healing and dodging orange. * Bardam's Mettle style "here are some common markers and mechanics" non-fight, where the player can't progress until they know what a stack marker and look away mechanic is. * Final boss that is an actual boss fight that talks about tank busters and eases the player into fighting while also keeping an eye out for mechanics. And then make it mandatory.
Late to the party with my answer too, but living in any region that salts the roads during the winter means you should use a car wash. The salt from the road gets kicked up into the undercarriage/wheel wells/etc and begins to rust the hell out of anything metal. If you live on the coast, especially if you deal with boats, the salt from the ocean water can also rust out anything that touches it if not washed. Dirt roads are another big one- mud is a real pain.
There were points in this video where you could hear the emotion draining from your soul due to the dungeon you were in and I just wanna say: That's perfect. You are ready for Mentor Roulette. Also 3 lines is a myth and anyone claiming to have gotten 3 lines has some backroom deals going on with the demon child.
I got a three lines the first week of Endwalker... but because it was that early in EW, I didn't have a 90 yet so I couldn't collect the gold certificate... I was so upset.
I've done WT almost every week for over 6 years straight. I've gotten 4 triple-liners. 3 of those were in the past year. I don't know what I did to win her favor this expansion, but I ain't complaining!
You are my favorite content creator. And I’ve seen many over so many years. Thank you for making my days better! Big fan and happy to be with you through this!
Having worked at a car wash for a bit, there are actually a few reasons to get one instead of relying on the rain. Some places really don't get a lot of rain like you mentioned, so the cars don't get that natural wash. Vehicles that go through a ton of mud will likely need a thorough wash as well. Old vehicles might also arrange for a wash, so they can be refurbished (had to clean one filled with leaves in the back that had been sitting around for years in an unusable state). On a similar note, if you want a new paint job you will probably have to get the vehicle washed first. There's also cleaning the inside of the vehicle, which can be a real mess if kids or animals are involved, and even if they aren't there are spots like the rim of the doors that don't get enough water from rain to get rid of the dirt that builds up. I don't own a vehicle myself, and even if I did I probably wouldn't care about looks on a normal basis, but there are plenty of reasons for them to exist.
Mechanically I really love the NieR raid series, they just need to tune down the HP pools a smidge. EW raid series mechanics are really fun but could stand to be a bit more deadly for failure and adding mechanics for later sections of the fight more. Llymlaen's fight is the best one in the whole series because halfway through she adds a whole new aspect to the fight that none of the others are really allowed to do. Also the stab she does if you /hug, /dote, or /blowkiss is such a fun detail and I even managed to kill a friend with it! Told him to hug her and he managed it in the exact window of time before the spear drop mechanic began resolving and he ended up locked at low HP in one of the aoes, the all caps discord ping I got was a thing of beauty.
don't know if I commented about this already since it is a 2 month old video, but I am rewatching it, and the bit about the mattress store front I may be able to add a small bit of insight into. I work for a furniture store doing deliveries, and we deliver up to 1000km+ (>600 mi) away from our physical location. on top of that, mattresses are one of our biggest sellers, since for whatever reason, people that earn more than, idk 200k a year seem to think they need a new mattress every 6 months. I kid you not, I have worked there for 2 years now and I have delivered at least 2 different mattresses to the same person over that timespan. it's truly insane the silly things people will do when they can simply afford it, even if it is uneccesary I have also owned a car for 4 years now and I have taken it to a car wash approximately zero times. I park under a power line and birds like to shite on my hood, but even that doesnt make me take it to a car wash. if it bothers me enough I will grab a wet cloth from my house and scrub off the shite. dirt will be handled by the rain idgaf lol
Khloe is mostly useful for the xp if you're levelling different jobs, whatever job you're on when you hand in your journal gets the xp, and for getting some extra poetics if you're farming arr/heavensward relics
16:30 well, that's because Void arc is Mhach, not THE void.. Different things. Though understandable opinion on the void, though it was hinted/explained in parts long before Endwalker.
Devs made the right call in making Khloe an adorable kitten, with an adorable kitten friend, because the RNG stings. Khloe's a troll... I remember the days before the bronze/silver/gold tokens, where the minion reward was out of your control. Basically broke my desire to collect every minion.
Car washes are good for getting salt off during winter, and bug splats/bird bombings the rest of the year. In rural areas you can build up mud from dirt roads after rain, and occasional farmers can leave patches of... well let's just call it natural fertilizer in the road and it isn't always possible to dodge them.
3am snack is usually "something" on bread. I usually have something to snack in my fridge that I can use for that: Pack of seasoned turkey strips, block of cheese, jar of hotdogs - but if not, a slice of bologna or cheese will do. Usually combined with some assortment of sauces that look appetizing in the moment. If I'm out of either of the three, I'll have to work without it. Hunger don't care, and I'm not awake enough to put any more work in... Or if I'm not feeling the savory in that moment it will be a handful of whatever biscuits or chocolate bars I happen to have around at the time.
I enjoy doing them as it gives me motivation to do my dailies every week. I've gotten 3 lines twice now and got both green mounts from them. Made my other XIV friends quite jealous for even getting 1 triple bingo, much less 2.
So I live in the Midwest. We have this nifty thing called winter. The city will salt the roads to melt the ice. Salt is bad for the car, so I need the car wash to spray the underside and coat it with anti-corrosive.
9:02 Yeah, like as someone getting towards Endwalker content now I can already see how overtuned tanks are, especially Warriors. Like... I can see some balance patches hitting the tanks soon because you *SHOULD* always need your healer. I've been hearing a lot of healer mains feel like a lot of endgame content isn't fun, moreso than early content, because instead of being too easy, you have nothing to do. Where I live you also need carwashes because sap will cover your car and it does rain but no enough to keep the sap off your car.
"and now the heavens are going to fall and those rocks are poor cover" -- never going to not find cider using that damn quote wherever he can to be funny.
11:20 so, funny story. I once built the sidebuild/"B" build for a Lego set by accident. It was only when the beachfront shack turned into a lighthouse that I realized something went wrong. Still kept it like that though, since lighthouses are cool :3
The biggest reason I use the carwash is between the pollen here and the water being so hard the rain just leaves behind layers of calcium and lime I need something that actually washes it off 😅
A couple of things. Wondrous tails will give you experience equal to half of your current level on completion- making this a popular thing to do for leveling. You can run the dungeons solo and unsynced so you can do some of them in under a minute (usually ARR trial bosses). The content that shows up in your personal wondrous tails is catered to your character, so only things that you have available should show up.
To add: note that if you pick up a WT with any character under level 90, you get the level 1-60 version of the book with just poetics for tomestone rewards and no duties above level 60/Heavensward. So if you want more duties and comedy/causality rewards, be sure to pick it up as a level 90 (you can clear duties as any job!)
Emmanellain catching strays 😆 the real enemy here is Khloe! p.s. we use car washes in places where we use salt to melt ice during the winter to wash the salt off the bottoms of our cars to prevent rusting lol
Started doing Wonderous Tales after you're first Achievement video.....I've gotten 2 lines only twice. I've gotten the potential 3 lines about a dozen times, but screwed on the last 2. Key is to get to 7 and shuffle stickers. Most patterns for 3 lines will need 1 sticker to finish 2 lines.
the point of the Nier stuff in the ffxiv story was to troll you. It's full of nonsense scenarios and demo reel fights that resemble things that happen in the Nier games but don't actually match up or spoil anything and the entire purpose is to fool people into spending several weeks helping a small town of xenophobic dwarves realize they failed as a community.
Something that I felt they did in trails and raids in ShB and EW was make the healer dynamic switch from healing tank mostly to mostly healing the whole party except for the tank due to raid wides and stacks, etc. I enjoyed this approach to healing a lot more than the only heal a tank approach. I hope to see them lean more into that
3am snack probably mini cheeses like Babybell. Or lunch meat occasionally. On the car wash note, it rains in the winter here, but then doesn’t rain for 6-8 months at a time. That can occasionally compel me to get my car washed once in a blue moon. Especially if there’s been a lot of tree pollen lately.
Bowl o' cereal for me. It's a comfort food and my brain tells me it is appropriate for eating in 'the morning' regardless of how early that morning is.
1) Midnight snack is whatever leftovers might be in the fridge, or a slice of turkey wrapped around a pickle. 2) I was driving in Utah on the ONE day the mayflies were out in force. Had to stop halfway home to wash the car because the bugs were so thick on my windshield I couldn't see out of it. That was the most disgusting thing I've ever seen on my car.
I am a complete weirdo whose midnight snack is mac and cheese, from scratch, with a full roux->bechamel->cheese sauce with mature cheddar, mustard and paprika. I am so practiced at this recipe I can do it at 2am while drunker than you were doing Delubrum
so fun thing. In 3 of the last 5 weeks I've gotten a 3 line. I'd never gotten a 3 line in all the years since it became a thing. But now 3 of my friends get to jump into the world race with a fun chestpiece
my go to snack nowadays is usually a few slices of fried spam lmao it's salty and oily but it hits right when you want just a little something but don't want to exert any effort at all. i tried the honeyed version, didn't like it, had turkey spam recently, it was fine, tasted almost normal, but regular spam is probs my fave your commitment to sound effects is what makes these videos all the more funnier imo lmao it's the little touches here and there that are cheesy but ultimately very funny, thanks for another hilarious vid :D
Hey Cider, just as a heads up, you can stockpile Bronze or Silver certificates for the next expansion. Assuming the pattern continues, then day one you can turn your certificates into the brand new tier of crafting materia to either use yourself or sell for profit.
Ok so on the car wash thing: our car wash has a station at the end where you can get the inside of your car vacuumed and cleaned out as well as the outside washed, so I do go, but mostly when the insides super dirty from animal hair and dirt
Washing your car makes it look prettier. Also helps protecting the paint and/or keeps it cleaner for longer. And if you live in a place that has a lot of salt exposure it minimizes rust.
The thing with the actual antagonists of the nier raids is that they're evil eldtrich gods from the Drakengard universe trying to invade the FFXIV world.
1.) Midnight snack to travel through Smileton to Microwave would be Buffalo Wing Anytizers(tm) 2.) Car washes, at least down here, are for the aftermath of the penile self flagulation we traditionally call "Mudding." Turn on the 4 Wheel Drive and go through the muddiest, shittiest roads you can and spin the tires in deep holes until you either climb out victorious, or call a friend in shame so his sheer penile-power can pull your vehicle out of the mess you got it into.
I live in Louisiana. Our cars turn yellow from pollen on a daily basis. We gotta wash or rinse ours if we wanna see. My snack is a peanut butter jelly sando.
NEIR raid stories in a nutshell, below spoiler blank lines: More or less, in the same way that the extra ending of Drakengard created a hole between dimensions, bringing the magic weirdness to Earth to create the Neir and Automata games, here the machines of Automata were trying to break into the Final Fantasy XIV universe and take over the world/servers. We are basically acting as antivirus destroying the invading virus.
Door Dash is the bane of my existence if I'm 3am tipsy on a weekend. Like nothing sounds so good like some cheap ass tacos delivered to your door at 3am because some poor sap needed an $8 tip at 3am.
As a midwesterner, car washes are viewed as nessessity regardless of if you go through an actual car wash or do it yourself, salt and brine (among other materials) are ROUGH on your car and will cause and accelerate rusting so you wash whenever it's warm enough to, it slows it down.
There is no pain like having 8 out of nine stickers in lines and the last one you need for three lines spawns away from the spot you need T-T Also best 3am snack for me is cereal.
As far as the Nier raid story, the literal only thing I remember is the dwarf village stuff, and I did it twice. I actually think they might have forgotten to put any story in the alliance raids because I remember the story of the other raids, even the new Endwalker ones lol.
Tactical Food Break: What I like to do is take some of that Sandwich Ham and roll up some American Cheese with it. It’s like a Ham and Cheese sandwich but with no bread
Depending on the server, the bronze cert consumables sell for thousands. Each. You can rack up several hundreds of thousands of gil that way very quickly. So one line books can still be very profitable.
Sometimes it's fun just to play the game and see what happens. Let me know if you'd enjoy more videos like this!
With the amount if effort you seem to put into your videos, just about any FF14 content* from you will be well liked by your community.

Fun stuff, keep it up.
@@D_JesterI second this!
Smileton commentary was ace, keep it coming!
I could watch you do this for hours
You did miss the most important reward from Wondrous Tales, since it's not so relevant this late in the cycle for GAMERS: 9 stickers in the catbook is a clean 50% of an XP bar for any combat job.
Zlatan looks like his 3am snack is a celery stick

And obviously cleaning your car keeps it looking nice and helps maintain the paint. Most car cleaning can be done at home but if you don’t have a hose or time going through a car wash had its advantages.
Or if you live anywhere on the East Coast specifically in the Rust Belt which gets regularly blasted by acid rain
The flame thrower and casually smacking Khloe repeatedly at the end has me in fucking tears omg lmaooo
Pizza rolls are the only 3am snack that give the appropriate amount of self-loathing you need at 3am
The true villain of Final Fantasy XIV is definitely Khloe.
EDIT: the 3am snack is a gigantic bowl of cereal, likely Peanut Butter Crunch.

The achievement videos have been entertaining, but I miss the mad because small series. I hope you make more of those in the future

poor man's quesadilla (tortilla and cheese microwaved with salsa or hot sauce) has gotten me through many a 3am
There were points in this video where you could hear the emotion draining from your soul due to the dungeon you were in and I just wanna say: That's perfect. You are ready for Mentor Roulette.

I laughed at the Emmanellain joke. And my favorite 3am snack would have to be cereal. Probably Reese's Puffs.

Told him to hug her and he managed it in the exact window of time before the spear drop mechanic began resolving and he ended up locked at low HP in one of the aoes, the all caps discord ping I got was a thing of beauty.
For me, if I need a SB leveling dungeon it’s *always* Doma Castle. That OST is a total bop! It’s one of my favorite tracks to this day!
Playing XIV while watching this and I just passed a lala named Jealous Of'tall lol
This was sweet! A weekly wondrous tales with Ciderspider seems fun pretty fun until mentor roulette is online! Great video!
Cider obviously doesn't live in a place that has
1) Dirt Roads
2) Super high pollen count
Or heavily salted roads in the winter! That road salt can seriously cause damage
"Come back to me, it's almost easy" Nice A7x reference at 7:45 haha!
don't know if I commented about this already since it is a 2 month old video, but I am rewatching it, and the bit about the mattress store front I may be able to add a small bit of insight into. peanut butter, honey, cold flour tortilla. if I don't have those, a fistful of pepperoni.
winter time in cold states, car washes are good to clean off the salt from the road
for...a reason for the car wash
I now live in an area with not much rain but a bunch of pollen and other dust. Gotta go through a car wash every now and then.

Worth noting that you can do tales objectives unsynced or with duty support and they still count for it!
at 3 am, im getting a cup of microwavable mac and cheese. Everyone in the household is getting awoken by my tactical slop break

My 3am snack is brown sugar cinnamon pop-tarts.

....nope, not gonna say it.

Hearing 'come back to me it's almost easy' and the 14 year old metalhead inside me looks up giving my monitor the stink-eye.
I am a complete weirdo whose midnight snack is mac and cheese, from scratch, with a full roux->bechamel->cheese sauce with mature cheddar, mustard and paprika.
I am so practiced at this recipe I can do it at 2am while drunker than you were doing Delubrum
...
So hey man can I come chill at your house at 2am?
Only cider could make a video about doing 9 random duties and i'd still find it interesting
3am go to before sleepy time snack: bowl of Cinnamon Toast Crunch.
Ooooh good choice. Sugary cereal is definitely good anyway, but a cinnamon crunchy one, heck yeah
Any time you mess with that demon cat will make like your video. It's always a good laugh.
so fun thing. In 3 of the last 5 weeks I've gotten a 3 line. I'd never gotten a 3 line in all the years since it became a thing. But now 3 of my friends get to jump into the world race with a fun chestpiece
My probability math is rusty but I'm pretty sure that's substantially luckier than winning the jumbo cactpot, sheesh
my go to snack nowadays is usually a few slices of fried spam lmao it's salty and oily but it hits right when you want just a little something but don't want to exert any effort at all. i tried the honeyed version, didn't like it, had turkey spam recently, it was fine, tasted almost normal, but regular spam is probs my fave
your commitment to sound effects is what makes these videos all the more funnier imo lmao it's the little touches here and there that are cheesy but ultimately very funny, thanks for another hilarious vid :D
A bag of shredded cheese. I don't even have to microwave it. I can just eat fistfuls in the fridge light like a cryptid.
And if you live in a place that has a lot of salt exposure it minimizes rust.
a bag of shredded cheese, to answer your question.
Tactical food break: No microwave required. I just stand at the fridge eating the shredded cheese right out of the bag.
The thing with the actual antagonists of the nier raids is that they're evil eldtrich gods from the Drakengard universe trying to invade the FFXIV world.
1.) Midnight snack to travel through Smileton to Microwave would be Buffalo Wing Anytizers(tm)
2.) Car washes, at least down here, are for the aftermath of the penile self flagulation we traditionally call "Mudding." Turn on the 4 Wheel Drive and go through the muddiest, shittiest roads you can and spin the tires in deep holes until you either climb out victorious, or call a friend in shame so his sheer penile-power can pull your vehicle out of the mess you got it into.
black mages standing out of healing range is an iconic trait of the job
I live in Louisiana. Our cars turn yellow from pollen on a daily basis. We gotta wash or rinse ours if we wanna see.
My snack is a peanut butter jelly sando.
NEIR raid stories in a nutshell, below spoiler blank lines:
More or less, in the same way that the extra ending of Drakengard created a hole between dimensions, bringing the magic weirdness to Earth to create the Neir and Automata games, here the machines of Automata were trying to break into the Final Fantasy XIV universe and take over the world/servers. We are basically acting as antivirus destroying the invading virus.
This is the answer.
Door Dash is the bane of my existence if I'm 3am tipsy on a weekend. Like nothing sounds so good like some cheap ass tacos delivered to your door at 3am because some poor sap needed an $8 tip at 3am.
Yeah I also liked the Void more when it was Super Hell instead of Novrandt-but-Dark
the story of the tower is basically "go play Nier and Drakenguard you idiots"
If I wake up at 3AM and get a snack, it has to be pop-tarts.
As a midwesterner, car washes are viewed as nessessity regardless of if you go through an actual car wash or do it yourself, salt and brine (among other materials) are ROUGH on your car and will cause and accelerate rusting so you wash whenever it's warm enough to, it slows it down.
Like 7 years and I got the 3 lines once... Khloe only dispenses pain and despair..
There is no pain like having 8 out of nine stickers in lines and the last one you need for three lines spawns away from the spot you need T-T
Also best 3am snack for me is cereal.
I did the combining robot battle with the Japanese. They went nuts in chat.
I've been saying that about Bardam's Meddle for ages!
I wish there were more bosses like that second boss
"3AM hot pockets"
> me, watching this video at 2:38 AM, while eating a hot pocket
I live in an area with pine trees, so the pollen makes me use the car wash, or my blue car turns light green.
As far as the Nier raid story, the literal only thing I remember is the dwarf village stuff, and I did it twice. I actually think they might have forgotten to put any story in the alliance raids because I remember the story of the other raids, even the new Endwalker ones lol.
Bold of you to assume that at 3 am i had even GONE to bed yet.
3 am is the start of the second half of my shift at work.
So one line books can still be very profitable.
in places that get snow we gotta wash the salt off of our cars (including the undercarriage) so the whole thing doesn't rust out
