In early spring, we met Jonah while we were traveling through the mountains. The way he lives is inspiring and his outtake on life is much the same. His 1992 Jeep Cherokee is his full-time home on wheels. He loves adventuring in whatever form that is, and his rig proves it.

Dood looks happy, pretty impressed how he used the space
he is super happy. We can attest to that. After meeting Jonah in person and hearing about his lifestyle he is the most real guy.
Really cool setup!! Reminds me of my first cross country trip with the love of my life! I'm inspired to modify my Grand Cherokee and go find her in British Columbia!! Safe travels good man!
pretty cool setup, I have a sleeping platform for 2 in my jeep so alot of the storage goes to that i really like the roof rack box idea.
Love ya Jonah ❤️ So happy to have crossed paths with you! Very inspirational!!! 🏔🇨🇦 🙌🏼
Jonah rocks!!!
That ceiling is cool. Great setup, glad to see other XJs still on the road. I camp in my XJ often but overlanding is in my future hopefully! Safe travels
For the ceiling what are the screws screwed into? And how thick is the wood used?
Right on! Freakin love to hear it. Best of luck to you!
Not sure how thick the wood is but we imagine its screwed into the vehicle ribs themselves
Dude, really cool setup for a small jeep! I like it!!! There is not a much free space in Jeep, but you did it! Looks organized and well structured!
Have a cool journey! Meet a cool people!
Good luck!
Enjoyed your video. Living and overlanding in my WJ for the past 3 years, I appreciate the thought and effort which have gone into your build. I am very weight conscious but I still manage to push the gross vehicle weight. Have you any concerns about your gvw and in particular your roof load. Happy to compare notes if you’d like. I’m waiting for your country to open the US border to trek up to the Arctic Ocean. Cheers
Jonah is one of the most real guys out there. He knows what he needs to live a fulfilled lifestyle and isn't afraid to go for it. Thanks for the comment.
Plenty of room in these Jeeps, he is hauling a lot of stuff around too. I lived in my Cherokee for 6 months, and it was super easy. I didn't have anything on the outside though, so I could sleep in an parking lot without people looking twice.
Love to hear the journey! Out west its a bit less of a worry with stuff outside as most people are pretty aware about whats going on in these rigs haha!
I salute you for the cold weather camping.. everythings easier in the summer. Nice set up
Right! its pretty sweet
Just picked up the exact xj. Plan to turn it into a camper. Awesome build
amazing! Best of luck on your journey man
Cool xj I'm a sucker for xjs and snow idk why lol. Miss my xjs i had 3 over the years. I want another one
Its pretty sweet right!
Awesome.... just starting to turn my 99 Jeep Cherokee into a road trippin' monster.. great ideas in here.
Stoked for your build!
I like your video give me a lot of idea, Quick Question: How to Folded the passenger seat to flat? Thank you man
317,611 miles on the odometer? I 225,000 on my 2005 jeep liberty. I had a Cherokee but it was actually to small for me personally. The liberty is small but I fit in it much better. I love how he makes everything work for himself. I took out all but the drivers seat in mine.
legend
Sure is 👏👏
What's up from Virginia Beach! Wow man that's a sweet set up I'm living in my 96 xj right now. How much did you lift it? I feel like I need to lift mine. And I just have the back seat folded i was thinking about just taking the bottom part out, would that work you think or should I take the whole thing out and build bed like you? Round about how much did your build cost? Funds are low. Love the video dude ✌️
Love the comment- thanks for all of this. we will be sure to share your feedback with Jonah
This is so cool
sure is !!
great video. what lift size? I have the same rims but if I go for 33s I want make sure the lift will be enough. Cheers again for a great video!
Who sells racks for these? My original one is stuck on, with hot glue or something blocking up the release.. I need one that fits the base rails with the holes every x inches..
@foxmulder7616 get gutter mounted feet and crossbars from thule/yakima and ignore the factory roof rack. or a roof rack from like jcr offroad, eag, goliath, etc designed to mount to the gutter rails. use any search bar and you'll find everything you need, there is endless xj upgrade videos out there.
Do you ever have trouble with mold in the Jeep from sleeping every night? Or do you air things out regularly? Thanks !
we cant answer for jonah himself but we do know he has a great dry source of heat and hes got the doors open to air out at any chance hes got
omg im doing the exact same thing well soon at least i got a 93 jeep xj and i took out the back seat and passenger seat. Added lifepo4 battery i made from cells and solar panel. Most of the same stuff that he has. Im soo excited to see other Cherokee life ppl lol. This has given me more ideas on my overland jeep build I really need to make a page on Instagram for my overland jeep because i think its looking pretty sick
sicccck! We love to hear it. Sounds like you've got a great set up in the works
This guy is so cool
Jonah is the best

That roof rack is severely overloaded. At least put more bars across it for support.
