From 3:46 This soundtrack is perfect. In the movie it showed the drama, teared avengers apart, victory of zemo and the mental loss of Tony Stark. It also showed how hard Steve cares about his best friend, this is why the final fight was epic!
At 3:53 you can really feel the heartbreak, both Tony and Steve know that their relationship let alone friendship will never be the same, as Steve protected the man who killed Tony's parents and Tony deeming Steve unworthy of his shield.
*"And the dust cleared, and the screaming stopped.* *It took me two days until I found their bodies.* *My father, still holding my wife and son in his arms... And the Avengers?* *They went home."*
Frozar Burst Yeah, can't lie, that one actually got to me. Not, like, crying, or anything. But, like, "Holy shit, that's right." They save the day, but there's a cost. And Zemo is the remnants of what the Avengers leave in their wake.
By this point in the film - T'Challa and Zemo's conversation and the second half of Cap fighting Iron Man - I couldn't pick a side anymore. Vengeance had already consumed Zemo, Stark and Rogers. Zemo succeeded....and seeing Cap and Stark beat each other up viciously till the end was heart wrenching. Both had their own reasons for beating each other up, but they were selfish in their own way....neither absolutely right nor wrong.
Well you almost correct...Cap wasn't consume by vengence, he just protecting Bucky from blinded rage of Stark(Stank), and Stark from hiself, he could beat more Iron man, but he just disable ark reactor, to grounded his suit! So Cap is winner, he chosed what is right. Yes he lost somekind of friendship with Stark... be he safe his conscience and don't let him become a murderer. That real hero should do always....
"I knew I couldn't kill them myself. Many powerful men have tried before. But if I could get them to kill each other". Zemo was a really good villain imo. His motive, while it may be cliched, was understandable, his plan, relied a little on convenience, was effective, and he is a small scale villain which was a breath of fresh air for the movies. He doesn't want world domination or money or to kill every person on Earth; he just wants vengeance for the death of his family. Hope we see more from this character in the future.
He is also the only mcu villain to have actually succeeded. None of the others had ever seen their plot to the end without a hero or the avengers foiling it. He actually managed to split the avengers and accomplish what he set out to do.
"That shield doesn't belong to you, you don't deserve it; my father made that shield". DAMN, MY FEELINGS :( The entire fight it's so brutal and emotional.
+Cristian Alarcón Tony was wrong. Cap had nothing to do with with his father's death. He was just protecting his friend who didn't kill him intentionally, he was brainwashed. So Cap still has rightful ownership to the shield.
Leo Park How is Steve supposed to convey it while Tony is actively trying to kill his friend? And maybe I would be extremely angry, but I would try to hold off and think rationally, that the person couldn't help themselves because they were brainwashed.
4:27-4:47 As both a musician and a film critic, I can safely say that I have never heard so much emotion in 20 seconds of music. You can feel everything: the pain, the realisation, the hope, the heartbreak... Henry Jackman managed to compose a score that not only elevated the scenes, but profound the emotions, and that takes real talent.

IThe AuthorityI Haha same here, it was well cut and I'm glad they didn't hold on to the shot too long or make it slow motion because that would've taken me out of the moment, it was a brief moment of well timed suspense.
+Aaron Baucham This whole movie is a Greek Tragedy! Two best friends who become bitter enemies due to conflicting ideologies is a story as old as time, and is always a great source for wonderful storytelling. Why else did X-Men: First Class work so well?
3:52 - 4:45 THIS. This is the best part of the entire soundtrack. The sheer emotional weight brought from all that happened between Cap, Tony and Bucky displayed to the core and the impact of what Zemo's plan has brought for them to make a Civil War against them in the first place. Just orchestrally it gives a feeling of dread and mass of the moment from the Chellos, violins and trombones. I'll never forget this moment after theaters in 2016 with my friends. Captain America Civil War's score is something else man, just like Henry Jackman
This movie will always be quite a memorable and impactful one, because let's face it, this is a movie where the bad guy pretty much wins. He has fractured the Avengers perhaps indefinitely. Even though the part where both of them died never reached it, unless the coming of Thanos can bring them together, the Avengers really are fractured indefinitely. Helmet Zemo, a villain so cunning and smart he did what no other MCU villain could do.
I don’t even think it was necessarily his cunning. He has what no other Marvel villain has: patience, humility, and absolute fearlessness (in the sense that he wasn’t afraid to die.)
So many people hated Zemo as the villain, but they don't realize of the impact of his actions, his plan. Just by searching and making things to happen (inevitable things) and he destroyed the team, he destroyed a friendship. He's one of the best villains for me. He didn't want to rule the world (Loki), he didn't want power (Hydra), he didn't want to destroy human kind and the world with it (Ultron), he wanted Steve and Tony to kill each other, to suffer as much as he did when he lost his family in Sokovia. This film is so awesome. Apart from the action scenes, which I loved, the essence of the film, the conflict and the ending, it was a master piece. Definitely my second favorite MCU film.
My father lived outside the city, and I thought we would be safe there. My son was excited. He could see the Iron Man from the car window. I told my wife, "Don't worry. They're fighting in the city. We're miles from harm." When the dust cleared, and the screaming stopped, it took me two days until I found their bodies. My father still holding my wife and son in his arms, And the Avengers? They went home. I knew I couldn't kill them. More powerful men than me have tried. But if I could get them to kill each other.[beat] I'm sorry about your father. He seemed a good man. With a beautiful son. T'Challa: Vengeance has consumed you. It's consuming them. I am done letting it consume me. Justice will come soon enough.
I remember watching this whole fight on screen with sheer terror, expecting the worst possible outcome of the fight. But that particular line from Friday was the one that traumatized me the most, making me believe my fears were confirmed.
But that's not what he said. What the fuck RUclips? That guy got lots of thumbs up and he wrecked that quote. lol. And someone in this thread affirmed that atrocity by saying it was an amazing quote from Zemo. Dumb, dumb, dumb.
4:28-4:48 I honestly don’t think I have ever heard so much emotion demonstrated through 20 seconds of music. You can feel everything: the triumph, the truth, the tragedy... every single note is as heartbreaking as it is hopeful. This entire score is a masterpiece in and of itself.
The last fight wasn't just epic and thrilling. The emotions that were present were enough to make me teary. You could literally see their bond sadly being destroyed and the feels are just amazing. you rarely see that in a fight scene in movies these days
You’ve got to think of how dark things would’ve gotten if one of them died in Siberia. All the possibilities make me happy they decided to keep everybody alive. If Tony killed Cap and Bucky, where would Tony go? Would he just leave their bodies to freeze and rot? What would he and the UN say to the public? What would Vision, Rhodey, PETER, Natasha, and T’Challa say if Tony told them he killed Captain America? Besides T’Challa, nobody was trying to murder anybody, so Tony crossed the line. If Tony killed Bucky: Imagine Cap is thrown across the room and now it’s Tony vs Bucky. In one clean shot, Tony repulsers Bucky in the head, instantly murdering him. Cap would run across the room and onto his knees and sit beside Bucky’s dead body in pain, anger, sadness. Tony, satisfied, walks towards the exit. He’s killed Bucky, and has decided to spare Cap. Cap, in anger, grabs his shield and bolts toward Tony and tackles him. Then, Cap kills Iron Man, and furthermore dooms himself by becoming a straight-up murderer. Cap is alone, and must now either live his life hiding (NOT in Wakanda) or arrest himself. If Cap/Bucky killed Tony: Cap/Bucky are now fugitives forever now that they’ve murdered Tony. There can be no Avengers again, the Accords stand stronger than before, and Earth is doomed for Thanos. Again, the Russo Brothers made the right choice keeping everybody alive. Ultimately, Zemo has won no matter what.
Buckaroo Banzai I don’t think Tony would be satisfied, sure he would’ve got his vengeance for the time being but I don’t think that he’s a maniac to get satisfaction of killing somebody, especially someone as smart as him, because the whole point of him standing with the accords is his guilt that he’s killed people so when realisation hits him, I’d say this only add to his grief and slowly kill his conscience, he’d feel empty and would feel that he accomplished nothing, Tony came far away from his prime time, he’s now taking the means to be more responsible but he’s endured a lot of traumatic things too so Cap hiding about his parents and who the killer was, regardless of whether he did it on his own will or not, was the breaking point for him, in infinity war, he was able to think and take decisions rationally because the threat was something beyond him until Starlord showed the same anger Tony displayed in this fight, except the fate of the world wasn’t at stake here, just the fate of the avengers.
Tony: "Do you even remember them?" Bucky: "I remember all of them" You know what, I'm going to say it. Yeah, Bucky killed Tony's parents, but Tony will never understand Bucky's pain. Imagine being controlled and being turned into a monster - and then you're free of the mind control and you have to remember every single thing the bad guys made you do. All those killings lodged in your mind, free to experience them but never free to forget them.
I dont think so.....Barton made awful stuff and so did Natasha. The difference is that...stark ended knowing more or less how they were but the deal of Bucky was hidden until it was just too late. Nothing could had prevented Tony from getting angry.....but...at this point he lost respect towards the cap.
Yes but when you break it all down, Tony was in the wrong. As a character, unless he was being controlled again, I think we all knew Bucky hated himself for what he was made to do. I will say under those circumstances that Tony had a little bit of right to try and kill Bucky. But at the end of the day it was HYDRA who killed his parents.
Mr_Earwig Well, lets be fair, Stark was already pissed and upset by a lot of things so the deal of Cap not telling secret was the last straw..is hard to react rational
lsebastian9086 Stark decided to put the pressure on himself, so he's mostly to blame - and did kinda make Ultron when he shouldn't have tried so he did bring most of it on himself. But I think Cap should've told him earlier, yes
Mr_Earwig Well, my main issue is that it still hurts that Cap did not handle this fine and he ends making himself look like ah ypocrite. I really hope im not being rude on the discussion
+Gold PlatedGaming (Jayson) End of the Line? I love that one, but I think this one is 1st and that one is second, because this has an extremely tragic and hopeless sense, while that has an inkling of redemption.
1:03 I love that this soundtrack starts in the whole movie as a mysterious and terrifying tone when we see Zemo, we didn't know his plan exactly but in this part when he reveals his motivations the soundtrack is a more emotional version.
BP: Vengeance has consumed you...it's consuming them. I am done letting it consume me. Justice will come soon enough. Zemo: Tell that to the dead. *Zemo aims his pistol to his neck, T'Challa puts his hand between the gun and Zemo's head and the bullet fires into T'Challa's gauntlet. He puts Zemo in a headlock.* BP: The living are not done with you yet.
My top 5 marvel movies emotional soundtracks 5- GOTG2- Dad 4-Cap2- End Of The Line 3-Cap3- Closure 2-Thor 2- Into Eternity 1-Avengers 3- Get That Arm/ I Feel You
3:42 onwards is the perfect breakup soundtrack for any relationship you know is beyond saving. Never thought listening to the soundtrack of Civil War is helping me get over my breakup.
Wounded Tony - “That shield doesn’t belong to you. You don’t deserve it! My father made that shield!” Cap turns around and looks at Tony, drops the shield and walks away Marvel equivalent of dropping the mic Captain America = BADASS
It's always going to belong to Cap, but I think Steve showed something very powerful in this scene. He doesn't need the shield the way Tony needs his suits. Tony even says earlier in the film that he just doesn't want to stop doing this and it's ruined his relationship with Pepper. Steve has never let his identity be wrapped up in being Captain America. He's always been and always will be Steve Rogers, and he will always fight for what's right even when the rest of the world says it's wrong. Tony, on the other hand, has always been so easily swayed and the moment Steve smashed his arc reactor, it was like his identity was smashed along with it. All he could do was resort to saying something as childish as, "My daddy made that shield. You don't deserve it!" Steve Rogers is a grown-ass man and Tony is a boy desperately trying to be one.
Tony pulls out Bucky from cryofreeze. Black panther and avengers are standing by, broken, defeated, angry and sad. One avenger is missing. Bucky: You came for me, I didn't want to kill your parents, I never wanted to kill anyone. Tony: Steve believed in you, I never did...I don't know if I can ever forgive you, but I swear if you help us now, I will promise to give you another chance. Tony hands out Cap's shield. Tony: Thanos killed him, he killed my friend... our friend, I took this away from him and he lost his life. Help me avenge him. Bucky holds the shield and falls to the ground crying. Tony: We need all the help we can get, this means I have to put aside my hate for you, then so be it, help us today and you will be an avenger. Bucky rises, holding the shield up in his arm, *captain america theme plays* Bucky: i'm with you , till the end of the line, let's kill this Thanos.
this was so hard to watch at the cinema...i was so close to tears the whole time; my two favorite Marvel characters fighting each other... such an amazing movie.
vengeance has consumed you. its consuming them. Im done letting it consume me. justice will come soon enough. cap is my favorite but black panther was so awesome in this movie and was also a complete badass
Truth to be told, if you honestly picked a side in a split second, you honestly haven’t thought it through Or that’s just me overthinking movies about fictional characters Probably the latter
4:28 this phrase plays right when tony tells cap he doesn’t deserve this shield, i love how well it matches the sting of the comment, even tony knows it’s not true, it’s a comment made purely out of spite
No one wins in the end, only one who might have the win would be Zemo since he did what he set out to do. Zemo is the one who won, the Avengers is no more, broken apart and hurt in the end of it all. The story is amazing and you just feel for everyone involved and even for the villain. Zemo lost everything besides the ones who took his home away from him, he had nothing left to lose in the end. When have the audience unsure of which side is right or wrong or if both were wrong and have us debating this, you know you did a good job.

Starlord showed the same anger Tony displayed in this fight, except the fate of the world wasn’t at stake here, just the fate of the avengers.
Zemo is probably my favorite villain because he just made the avengers split.
"How it feels?.... spell so much time and.... fail?...."
"Did i?..."
He bombed the UN 💀💀💀
@@Marissa.DAgata and?.... that is what is he saying... its a Good Villian?
@@kite_steelball damn that scene 💔
Boy, Tony thought Cap was gonna kill him. It was a powerful scene when he drove the shield into the arc reactor
4:10 is like the Tony and Cap thinking what have I done and realizing their relationship is broken
4:28 a single tear was shed!
Tony: "Do you even remember them?"
Bucky: "I remember all of them"
You know what, I'm going to say it.
Mr_Earwig
Well, lets be fair, Stark was already pissed and upset by a lot of things so the deal of Cap not telling secret was the last straw..is hard to react rational
lsebastian9086 Stark decided to put the pressure on himself, so he's mostly to blame - and did kinda make Ultron when he shouldn't have tried so he did bring most of it on himself. But I think Cap should've told him earlier, yes
Mr_Earwig
Well, my main issue is that it still hurts that Cap did not handle this fine and he ends making himself look like ah ypocrite. I really hope im not being rude on the discussion
the best part start at 3:45 !
this is the second saddest score in the trilogy...the first taken by ost no 17 in the winter soldier because of how gut wrenching it is
+Gold PlatedGaming (Jayson) End of the Line? I love that one, but I think this one is 1st and that one is second, because this has an extremely tragic and hopeless sense, while that has an inkling of redemption.
I’ll probably cry so hard listening to that Infinity War soundtrack
From 3.47.You don't deserve it.you don't deserve that shield, my father made that shield. So emotional.Best marvel movie ever made.
3:55. “They weren’t even super soldier🙁 -John Walker
ya it was sad
1:03 I love that this soundtrack starts in the whole movie as a mysterious and terrifying tone when we see Zemo, we didn't know his plan exactly but in this part when he reveals his motivations the soundtrack is a more emotional version.
3:54
I can imagine Cap stabbing the shield in Iron Man’s arc reactor. The entire movie was emotional and brutal but will certainly be a classic.
4:28
"That shield doesn't belong to you. You don't deserve it. My father made that shield!"
when the cap destroy the arc reactor and the scared face of Tony in that moment, just epic
He puts Zemo in a headlock.*
BP: The living are not done with you yet.
The most emotional and best MCU soundtrack to date. Well done Mr. Jackman
No. He mest up. Its not his song
Its the way of the sword
last samurai
When you realise cap didn’t get his shield back for 7 years
My top 5 marvel movies emotional soundtracks
5- GOTG2- Dad
4-Cap2- End Of The Line
3-Cap3- Closure
2-Thor 2- Into Eternity
1-Avengers 3- Get That Arm/ I Feel You
Thor 1 - Letting Go was pretty sick as well. Loki falling into the abyss.
SPOILER ALERT
Avengers: Endgame- You did good.
nice list bro
3:42 onwards is the perfect breakup soundtrack for any relationship you know is beyond saving.
Never thought listening to the soundtrack of Civil War is helping me get over my breakup.
3:53 when John walker got his ass kicked and they were not even super soldiers
the beginning gives me chills and its so epic wow
was 3:40 when cap stuck his shield in Tony's arc reactor?
yep, Tony looked so defeated, and cap looked like he was done for the day, that fight at the end though, so emotional
such a beautiful tone you can just feel the vengeance
I get chills Everytime at the end.. civil war has one of the best soundtracks in any marvel movie.
Good for T'challa he become a hero and Avenger, not consumed by revenge and killing amok like Stark. #TeamCap
This gives me the chills
Wounded Tony - “That shield doesn’t belong to you. You don’t deserve it! My father made that shield!”
Cap turns around and looks at Tony, drops the shield and walks away
Marvel equivalent of dropping the mic
Captain America = BADASS
captain America got everything he is from starks father but that doesn't matter tho right
The only reason Steve got anything in the first place was because of his strong character. You can't get that out of a bottle
+thedefinitive i can
I bet Howard Stark don't wanna this, He made that shield for hero, and that shield always belongs to Cap....
You don't deserve it!"
Steve Rogers is a grown-ass man and Tony is a boy desperately trying to be one.
3:50 OMG, MY FEELINGS. THEY _HURT_. The death of the Avengers as we know them :-(
Amanda Johnson Wait till Avengers 3 & 4
@@TheEgyptianGamerGeek so 3 yrs later what did u think
Did u do it 👍🏼
Tony pulls out Bucky from cryofreeze.
Bucky rises, holding the shield up in his arm, *captain america theme plays*
Bucky: i'm with you , till the end of the line, let's kill this Thanos.
karankenZ this needs to happen in infinity war
karankenZ this is a great plot, but we both know it would be worded differently lol
Best track of the entire film! Who agrees?
this was so hard to watch at the cinema...i was so close to tears the whole time; my two favorite Marvel characters fighting each other... such an amazing movie.
3:53 "That shield doesn't belong to you. You don't deserve it. My father made that shield."
Damn Henry Jackman did such a great job on that movie.
3:41 End of the avengers and the half of humanity, epic song :'(
This is one time I feel bad for a villian.
the mcu is so popular but the scores are overlooked, i guess sheep cant comprehend the artistry on display here
“Vengeance has consumed you, it’s consuming them. I am done letting it consume me”
@3:42 the end of Cap & Tony's friendship
This scene proved that you don't need massive full-scale city-wide battles for the fight to be engaging and thrilling.
Damn man 3:53 just gotta be the most beautiful and saddest piece of music ive ever heard
they both knew the consequences of their actions and that's what makes this movie even more upsetting
4:27 is my fave part!😭 always gives me goosebumps
"That shield doesn't belong to you. You don't deserve it. My father made that shield!"
vengeance has consumed you. its consuming them. Im done letting it consume me. justice will come soon enough. cap is my favorite but black panther was so awesome in this movie and was also a complete badass
Me watching this scene: Pfft, Tony's not gonna die
Cap: *Rips off the helmet and raises shield*
Me: *WAIT HOL UP*
3:52 onwards absolutely broke me. Credit to Henry Jackman! Music is a quintessential part of storytelling and its heartbreaking here.
Wow... 4:55 to 5:15... some of the most beautiful notes put together in ANY MCU score I've heard to date.
i fucking love the MCU.
4:11-4:41 damn! the feels!
"That shield doesn't belong to you, You don't deserve it, My father made that shield!"
Truth to be told, if you honestly picked a side in a split second, you honestly haven’t thought it through
Or that’s just me overthinking movies about fictional characters
Probably the latter
this is more than epic
4:28 this phrase plays right when tony tells cap he doesn’t deserve this shield, i love how well it matches the sting of the comment, even tony knows it’s not true, it’s a comment made purely out of spite
Man I really do miss seeing captain America on the movie screen, and the rest of the avengers
“That shield doesn’t belong to you. You dont deserve it. My FATHER MADE THAT SHIELD”
-Tony Stark
Mission report: december 16, 1991
How is no one talking about the motif at 0:50 ? That theme of vengeance that's eating away at Helmut's soul
3:44 is the best part
2:19
- You can't beat him hand to hand !
- Analyse his fight patterns !
- Scanning, countermeasures ready.
- Let's kick his ass.
"You don't deserve it, my father made that shield!" 4:40
No one wins in the end, only one who might have the win would be Zemo since he did what he set out to do. Zemo is the one who won, the Avengers is no more, broken apart and hurt in the end of it all. The story is amazing and you just feel for everyone involved and even for the villain. Zemo lost everything besides the ones who took his home away from him, he had nothing left to lose in the end. When have the audience unsure of which side is right or wrong or if both were wrong and have us debating this, you know you did a good job.
I really love the darker variation of Zemo's motif in this as he tells his backstory.
I can here this all day
question: why is marvel so damn good?
You Can't Beat him hand to hand🥶
Bucky's arm!!! :'(
Hopefully he gets it back in future films!!!
