Can you please help us by telling about your type of GBM and what treatment you are taking and what diet you are having as it will help other patients as well ?

hi Irma, same story as with my son, Wes who passed in 2012. He was 32 and fought it for 11 months. I was surprised to see there is even a 5% survival rate. His brother and others still maintain a facebook bio, 'Everbody Loves Wes'. He was also a beloved swim coach and teacher at Jensen Beach, FL HS.
I had my surgery to remove my Tumor, also glioblastoma WHO grade 4on Oct 11th 2023. Not sure how long I have but I do hope for more awareness and a cure someday….. like today🙏
Hi this is an account of my son Alejandro, he passed away on December 25, 2019, at 7:49 AM from Glioblastoma Multiform, we always had the hope that he will survive, this its the cruelest disease I never see in my life, Alejandro will be forever in our heart, your mom and dad miss you so much.
I am sorry about his youth. I learned mine 2 months ago. I’ve had surgery and chemo and awaiting further analysis. But I am 72 years old and have overlived my father’s age. I have a good wife and 2 great kids and 2 sweet young grand children. All in all I have been lucky.
I agree with you. We found out that my hubby had this two weeks before he passed away, we never had a chance to catch out breath. Pancreatic cancer is another hard one to deal with. Cancer is an insidious disease and a scourge facing far to many people. I lost both my parents to cancer, a brother and sister.
My older brother died of this Terminator.. he was 38 yrs old. The doctors gave him 6 months to live he lived for 4.5 years.. I miss you so much my brother 💗always In my heart 💜
My fiance has stage 4 glioblastoma and he is 27. He's fighting for his life right now. Because his crainionomy caused major swelling. He was feeling headaches on his birthday on June 2nd. Then we went to the hospital on the 3rd and on the 8th he was officially diagnosed. I couldn't tell you the sadness and pain watching this happen to the one you love. All I do know is be greatful everyday you have and for the people you love.
Same here I have glioblastoma stage 4 multiforme I’m 27 I had my surgery on June 10 now I have a week on the treatment Chemo pill n radiation it’s been rough but I’m strong for this also I’m eating a plant they said it could help agains the cancer.
My twin sister was diagnosed on October 02, 2020 with Glioblastoma Multiform Grade IV malignant brain tumor. The surgeon suggested to Patricia to have a brain biopsy so the doctor could prescribed her the right medication. Temodar is the main medication prescribed for Glioblastoma Multiforme. Doctor said that because Pat and I are twins, I may want to have an MRI. I declined. Pat immediately started radiation treatment and Temodar 140 mg chemo. Later, she started 250mg Temodar. It destroyed her bone marrow, platelets, red and white cells. Bone marrow count was '0'. She developed thrush and had difficulty swallowing. Her oxygen level dropped to 74 or less and she was admitted to hospital emergency on November 30, 2020. December 28th, she was admitted to hospice. My precious sister passed on December 30, 2020 💔
Oh my goodness, I am so sorry you lost your sister to this horrible cancer. How traumatic for you and your family to see her go through such suffering. God rest her Soul. 🙏🏻🕊✨
My older brother was diagnosed with Glioblastoma several years ago. Since it was pretty well advanced, and likely would not respond to chemo or radiation, he opted to forego any treatment. He died just six months after his diagnosis. The only "good" news is that he didn't really suffer. The bad news is that he was a brilliant concert pianist, with an upcoming European tour. All of that went down the tubes.
I am so very sorry. My oldest brother was recently diagnosed and underwent brain surgery resection and debulking of tumor. He was given 4-6 weeks to live if he chooses no treatment. Our family can already see he is giving up. He’s 67 and says he wants treatment but is scared. We sense he may pass in the next few weeks as he’s already closing out the world. God Bless his Soul. 🙏🏻❤️
@@gollbach-cardenas5605 My prayers are for u, my mother died for this same desease and she too refused any treatment, and she did well because she lived her last months (5) of life quitely.
My heart breaks for these brave parents and those in the comments. I lost a dear friend to this as well. I pray that some advancements happen in treatment. I will look into supporting this as well.
Our 7 yr old son was diagnosed with cancer osteosarcoma the day the dr told me I fell to my knees 😩😩😭💔💔 I can’t describe how devastated and scared we were I saw our life pass by 😩 we were thrown into something we knew nothing about but we did learn 😞 we would switch off when he was in the hospital he was never alone when mom was there I would walk around when he was sleeping 😴 I saw babies with cancer 😭💔 there were kids of all ages this whole experience took a toll on my mental health and our marriage was tested so we know what you have been through it’s a parents WORST NIGHTMARE 😭😭💔💔
My brother Allan died of this deadly form of cancer 27 yrs ago at the age of 32 leaving behind a wife and 2 small daughters and a heartbroken family. He survived a little over a year, after 2 surgeries and radiation until they could do no more. It's devastating. My heartfelt condolences to you and your family. Thank you for all you are doing to bring awareness to this deadly disease.
My dad died from Glioblastoma a few weeks ago, he was 72. He died 3 months after the diagnosis. It's a horrible type of cancer. I hope someday we have a way to better treat it. ❤🙏
my mom died from this on 26th of november 2022. she was 46 and would have turned 47 one month later. she lived 3 months after the official diagnosis. honestly it’s still extremely painful to this day, it still breaks my heart and i can’t believe if it’s even possible to accept the death of your loved ones. i hope humanity will find the cure for this awful disease. i send a lot of strength to those who suffer from it and all their closest people. hope for the best and be prepared for the worst, sadly
My grandmother and uncle died from glioblastoma. Which is super rare to see others in same family have this type of cancer. It was devastating. We kept Granny home and over the 6 months she lived after diagnosis was heartbreaking. Seeing her full of life and running circles around everyone to not able to fold a washcloth or peel an orange and the pain she endured. My heart has been broken since she was like a mom to me.
Have you heard of Gliogene? It’s a research project on glioblastoma that is looking for families who have had 2 or more cases in their families. Scientists are looking for the specific gene mutations to help improve our knowledge about the disease.
I don't believe it's rare anymore 💔 I worked in an office with 5 people. Two of us had lost our husband of GBM. Another woman's mother in law was diagnosed with GBM at age 93. She lived 2 weeks from diagnosis. If this devil cancer is so rare, how is this possible??
My husband died of one at age 56 with the ONLY symptom a headache. Never had a seizure. He lived 15 months. It’s a horrible death sentence disease for many reasons, one especially because the patient loses all memories months before they pass. Loved ones need to say goodbye early in the disease…..and that’s hard. Then many times during the illness the patient doesn’t remember they are sick with a tumor so it can’t me mentioned. Very difficult for the loved ones left behind. So sorry about your Dustin.
You gotta really respect these type of doctors… couldnt imagine getting to know all these people knowing they are pretty much months away from death… cant even have the same dr patient relationship as others get
My partner of 18 years ended up having a seizure June 11th 2021, MRI's induced coma's we found out late June it looked like a grade 2 cancer, after the biopsy and first surgery they told us the bad news, it was more aggressive than they thought and was grade 4 Glioblastoma. He ended up having 2 back-to-back surgeries surgery July 7th and July 9th. They had to do the second emergency surgery because of the swelling and seizures that were happening within the critical 48 hour period after the first surgery. He's done 30 rounds of radiation and was on chemo pills at the same time. Starting late October will be on 4 times the strength of chemo pills once a week every month for 6 months. This disease destroys lives. As his caregiver I'm full of anger and sadness, I'm happy he's still here but it's still a hopeless feeling knowing where the road's leading too. I try so hard to enjoy every day, At 39 and 41 years old you don't picture this happening, any age I guess. I feel awful for these parents and their son, who is so young!
So very sorry to hear this, I just went through a similar tragedy with my daughter in law, 45yrs, beautiful girl, always exercising and eating right, when we heard stage 4 cancer we couldn't move, we were shocked, no real indication she was sick, no headaches, no seizures....she meant so much to me, our time went quickly, her diagnosis in December and she died may 1, I am still unable to understand why her, I call her phone to hear her voice, I search for her everyday, even knowing she is gone, I am so lost
Glio doesn't discriminate - some gets it at older age while others younger and some in the middle range. Regardless try to use visualization - first zapping at the cancer with red color light at the spots (if known) and then second color is green for healing the immediate area. When one incorporates body mind n spirit the fighting chances increase. Visualization is the mind and spirit working in conjunction fighting off the invasion of unwanted cells...
My husband has a stage 4 glioblastoma primary he was diagnosed with it November 20 of 2020, he will do the TMZ the rest of his life and he has done the radiation and when he was done with that we are doing the optune cap and it does work, but he also has diabetes from being on steroids and he also ended up with an edema from the dead tumor that they cannot take out... and I have heard of more people that have this tumor
Hi just an update, my husband has passed away December 16th of 2021 I had him just over a year from his diagnosis, he went very peacefully thank goodness the things that you are not told when they start to decline I just thought he was tired and it wasn't I am glad that he is with the Lord now I know where he's at and I know I'll see him again but there is so much more to know about this horrible piece of cancer, that either come from another part of your body or is just a primary like he had it's horrible to hear they have not got a hand on it they focus on other cancers that people hear more about, but if you have breast cancer lung cancer skin cancer these can turn into a secondary glioblastoma the more I hear of the name I am angry and I hate cancer it's still stones that you love very much
We just found out my 7 year old cousin has this disease. He had surgery about 3 weeks ago, but we just found out it has grown larger than when they did surgery. This is heart breaking.
@@MonOnTheMoney the oldest just had his 4th brain surgery. He’s so brave. He was all smiles after. His parents are absolutely amazing in their approach to this tragedy.

My mother passed away with glioblastoma multiform. The only symptoms was a headache after awakening. She passed out one day and was taken to hospital where they found a tumor. They gave her 3 months, she only lived 6 weeks to the day. Horrible disease.
Lost my mom to GBM in 2005. She was was only 54. Same age I am now. She made it for 15 months and had 2 brain surgeries. My prayers and condolences to everyone who has lost someone to this. 🧡💜💚
So sorry to hear this ! Was she near a nuclear power plant or cell phone tower? There has to be a cause . It's rose so much since 1980s Not heard of in 1900s
My husband passed away from this devil cancer October 3, 2001. I'm sick that 20 years later GBM is still a death sentence 😥 Rare? Years later, we lost 2 men in the Same church (membership of apx 350) to GBM. How is that possible? God Bless those in treatment and the caregivers❤❤
I read this and wondered about the two deaths in the same church. I wanted to comment that is it possible there was (or remains) an environmental component that could have e triggered the disease?
@@christymalekani4104 we were asked many questions about everything. Where did he work, cell phone use, did he use certain chemicals in his work. Honestly, I don't think they know.
I'm sorry for your loss. My best friend was diagnosed with one a couple of weeks ago. I told her kids about the gene therapy. I feel like if they could find a common denominator between people with this illness, perhaps it would shed some light. There must be one.
At 60 yrs old in 2019 Nov. I was told I had a glioblastoma multiform. Brain cancer. They gave me 6 months. It has now been 2 yes on Nov. 1st. My Dr's are surprised everytime they see me and the MRI are great. I will have another MRI on Dec 3. I have kept a very positive attitude. If I didn't have the scar across my head you wouldn't even know I had brain surgery. The Dr.s told me this was a very aggressive cancer. So I had radiation and chemo. I was kept on chemo for 20 months 15 pills 3 a day for 5 days. I haven't had chemo since August 2021. And we will see on Dec 3 if it's back. When I got the diagnosis I didn't have any warning signs that something was going on. Couldn't believe it. I'm sorry your son is gone now I wish he would of had more time. Now I need to be really concerned the % goes down to 17% to survive and 5%make it to 5 yrs.
I lost a step brother, and then two of his sons also ended up dying of it. Three in one family, one after another. Mayo Clinic is studying their genes. Deepest sympathy.
My only daughter died on October 31, 1997 from a glioblastoma , she was 20 yrs old. Ct scan done on Wednesday October 29,1997 showed the tumor and she died October 31,1997 2 days later
My brother also died from this. He lived about 3 months after his diagnosis. He was 63 years old. Miss him still. I wouldn't wish this on anyone. There really needs to be better treatments for this horrible cancer

My condolences to all of you who have lost a loved one to this horrible cancer. There has apparently been no effective treatment since Johnny Gunther of the book "Death Be Not Proud" died of GBM in 1947. It's time that the cause and cure be found.
Look on the internet, there is a hospital in the us with great results they put, the flu gene and the herpes gene into parts of the brain where the tumour was and it has given them great results even for grade 4 tumours. I watched the program for it and was amazed. A man had a grade 4 that returned within 6 weeks he had chemo and radiation for it and it still returned, he went to this hospital had their treatment and it hasn’t returned in over a year.
I saw the same video. It was Methodist hospital in Houston. I remember it because I am from Houston. Houston has a world-class medical center with so many hospitals it looks like a city skyline. I don't know why this gene therapy hasn't spread to other cancer centers as it appears to be a real treatment for this devil cancer.

My heart goes out to these parents and everyone who has lost a loved one to this terrible disease 🙏🏼❤️

Dear All. I hope you all find this comment very informative and helpful. My daughter aged 4 years 6 months diagnosed with GBM. After surgery, doctors advised for radio therapy. We continued all conventional cancer treatment, but other things we did along with conventional treatment really helped my daughter's fight against this aggressive brain cancer, As I learned about this devastating news in patholgy, I spoke to my wife to start her the black seed oil and extra virgin olive oil. She continued giving her 1 tablespoon three times black seed oil and EVO daily right 11 days after surgery. We observed very little to no side-effects of radio therapy & She is completely cancer free now in scans.
2 things: 1) it's actually not that rare, it's the most common primary brain tumor there is (also the most deadly because it's so difficult to treat) and 2) Dr Salacz is my Neurooncologist also and he's awesome! Can't recommend him enough to anyone else having to deal with this!

Being a twin myself, I can empathize with your pain and loss. My thoughts are with you.
@@lus3003Thank you. I appreciate it.
I am sorry for you loss.

My brother passed from this on November 30, 2004. They gave him 6 months, but he lived 16 months. He was only 51. I will never stop missing him.

My mother passed away from this horrible disease 32 years ago when I was just one years old.😢

I don't believe it's rare anymore 💔
I worked in an office with 5 people.
Only a select few have memory issues. It all depends on its origin point.
You gotta really respect these type of doctors… couldnt imagine getting to know all these people knowing they are pretty much months away from death… cant even have the same dr patient relationship as others get
Lost a coworker to this, she was gone within a year from the diagnosis and initial surgery. I miss my friend.

Hi just an update, my husband has passed away December 16th of 2021 I had him just over a year from his diagnosis, he went very peacefully thank goodness the things that you are not told when they start to decline I just thought he was tired and it wasn't I am glad that he is with the Lord now I know where he's at and I know I'll see him again but there is so much more to know about this horrible piece of cancer, that either come from another part of your body or is just a primary like he had it's horrible to hear they have not got a hand on it they focus on other cancers that people hear more about, but if you have breast cancer lung cancer skin cancer these can turn into a secondary glioblastoma the more I hear of the name I am angry and I hate cancer it's still stones that you love very much
They are injecting tumors with the polio virus and making the tumor disintegrate I am surprised how many do not know of this research
