I lost my much beloved wife to glioblastoma in 1998. She was 33 when diagnosed, and died at 35. She left behind a 2-year old daughter, and two mid-teen sons. We had done all the traditional therapies: surgery, chemo and radiation. We even went to Mexico for a few months of bogus "medicine". I wish this therapy was around at that time. I am so glad for those who can now be saved.
This is the best news I have heard since losing my wife and best friend.

Same thing with my dad, but it was colorectal cancer. He was 80-yrs-old. Worked out 5 days a week, volunteered on two political campaigns and was my brother's business manager for his psychology practice - in his spare time. He was vibrant, healthy, still mentally sharp, and had no symptoms - other than constipation. He had that checked out cuz he was so regular, and it ended up being an issue. He had a blockage in his colon and needed hospitalization.
He was at stage IV, given 6 months with no treatment - up to 6 years if it worked. It didn't. He had the blockage, which put off treatment - then he kept having issues with his blood checks before chemo, and they'd tell him he had to wait another week. He was in horrible pain. He lost his appetite. The chemo ate him up - and it didn't work. He lost 30 pounds - and he was a small framed man. Then he ended up with another blockage. The did surgery, which was what Dad asked for right away, but at that point, he was so weak from losing weight, his body shut down. He became septic and never recovered. It was BRUTAL. He was gone in 4.5 months - January 12, 2019. I'll never forget the date.
Cancer is so horrific, it can't be natural. I can't help thinking humans are creating this because of all the changes we've made to nature. 😢

Why did the doctors say there are not better options when they existed for 8 years? Sure, modified viruses can be patented and make billions while the metabolic approach is very low cost and cannot be patented. Is money the only determining factor? How sad.

If I could do anything in my life it would be to save a person who has cancer and doesn't know about the proper therapies that are more modern that can help so much. It is so terrible that the doctors don't or Not educated it is terrible that Duke University or whoever else knew about this therapy didn't share with all the oncologist in every hospital in the world.

I would have given ANYTHING for my mama to have access to a treatment like this. She did not deserve the suffering she endured for years. Twice she went to 2 different doctors, after having cancer previously even, and they didn't believe her. They said her pain was "just a part of getting older" or "it comes with aging." No it doesn't. It was cancer again and so much time got wasted. I miss her EVERY day.

I lost my wife to gliosarcoma June 23, 2004. Gliosarcoma is similar to the glioblastoma discussed in this video but even more aggressive. She fought it with grace and courage for 18 months, 3 times longer than she was given at diagnosis. She was also a 5 year breast cancer survivor, the two cancers being unrelated.
The MRI's shown here could have been hers insofar as they're so similar. Seeing these brings back such a rush of painful memories. Sighs, I miss her terribly.
Yet my heart is gladdened by this report, with the hope others will not have to endure what she and I did.

@Mel M Yes, it seemed given Stephanie's young age & then recovering to do what she wanted as a career, a nurse, this was a shock. To have 8 years added to her life & swept away is tear jerking. This kind of makes me wonder, and likely those at Duke doesn't yet, what's the life expectancy? Yes, she was the 1st patient who received the trial, and probably the longest to live out of all. At least she did get 8 more years, mostly quality ones, but I wonder, would just a tiny little more or less had made a difference? She was a brave and amazing woman.
Remember when they greatly increased dosage, that's when outcomes weren't as good, however I don't expect everyone to receive the same. Later, some would get less than Stephanie & do good, but we don't know when the list was last up to date, because she was alive. Too, maybe it was the type of cancer being treated. It's my hope that Stephanie Lipscomb's journey is the beginning of something large.❤
Because for decades, over half or 3/4th a century, treatment was radiation, surgery & chemo (or burn, slash & poison). Many are caught in late Stage 3 or 4, as am sure many of these patients were & desperate. Some lives a few weeks, others a few years, depending on how early or late caught, age & am sure physical condition as well. Hopefully will be tested on other cancers & soon, because there's lots of other patients that wants a shot at life too.💯

Brendan had more ongoing issues because of his brain damage from bleeding and had more struggles with it re-appearing quicker but still got years added on.
It would seem like this treatment is currently not a "cure" as you mentioned but does give some people extended remission time and maybe it will work better in the future. It’s not a cure. It only prolongs life for a few. Very misleading. Watch til the very end and read the screen.

My daughter passed in 2020. She was 36 and left behind, a 16yr old son, who is now going to graduate from high school. I know if she was still here she would throw him a big party . I will now be doing that for her with friends.

My sister has Glioblastoma. She had surgery, chemo and tried the Optune machine but the Optune machine gave her blisters on her head. She said if the cancer starts growing again she’s not going to do anything. I past this video to her in hopes she won’t give up. She’s my sister I’m closes to and I will be very sad to lose her. Last MRI her tumor had not grown. She is due for another MRI. This is my second sister with Glioblastoma. My eldest sister died from this.

I hope she can be saved from cancer. My grown son has been fighting stage 4 cancer and it's growing and spreading. I just sent him this video. I sure wish he could try that treatment. Best of luck and love to you and your sister!
