I lost my much beloved wife to glioblastoma in 1998. She was 33 when diagnosed, and died at 35. She left behind a 2-year old daughter, and two mid-teen sons. We had done all the traditional therapies: surgery, chemo and radiation. We even went to Mexico for a few months of bogus "medicine". I wish this therapy was around at that time. I am so glad for those who can now be saved. This is the best news I have heard since losing my wife and best friend.
I am so so sorry. It breaks me when I hear stories like this. Lord I pray there will be a cure. I know two men fighting it right now. My daughter was diagnosed at 14 with part glio. My thought everyday is when will it come back and I will be losing my daughter like this. God Bless you and your family.no one understands unless they have been thru it.
I have stage four breast cancer. My doctor looked at me in the eye and said “you will live for years, and in your lifetime, there will be a cure. My hope is that you are healthy enough for that cure to work”. I’ve heard similar things for many different types of cancer. They are close. Keep praying for a cure!
Bravo to the trial participants. I was in two separate Phase 1 clinical trials that used immunotherapy to treat advanced ovarian cancer. That was 23 years ago. I’ve been cancer free since.
God bless you and hope God continue to bless you. My mother was diagnosed with an ultra rare cancer 14 months ago. She had miracles but she is still fighting for her life. I pray to God that she has more miracles

@@ashleyjames8954 theres too much to say in a comment, but many have done sweet vids (eric berg) about the stuff. its outrageous that pharma or whoever wont tell everyone the amazing benefits of sprouts. cheaper than any other food prolly too. we live on the canadian border and now we get to eat fresh vegetables every day, even though we only live in a two bedroom apartment for pennies a day.....no soil no lights in a small dark corner....outrageous. you can learn how to sprout on our channel too

I am truly sorry abou your losses. May the Lord grant their souls everlasting happiness and peace. You guys may the Lord be with you and comfort you all the time. I am a Survivor of 20 yrs this April from Cancer treated at Duke University. I was 27 at the time. Now I am being treated again at Duke, this time for a Brain Tumor. I had surgery last year but unfortunately it has come back. I know I am in the best care possible and I am very Thankful to have one of the Best Hospitals available to help me.
My six month old neice has just been diagnosed with a melanotic neuro ectodermal brain tumour. Its a very rare, very aggressive benign tumor. They are currently unable to operate due to where it is. Its slightly bigger than the size of a tennis ball. She is on her first lot of chemotherapy which will be on and off for 80 days. Please pray for her❤❤❤
@johno-gb7ci she's doing fantastic thank you, she was able to have it operated on just before Christmas as it had shrunk thanks to the chemo. Though she didn't complete her chemo as it was damaging her kidney. She's doing amazingly, it went so much better than the surgeons thought that it would. So much so that there is only 2% of the tumour left! It's now a case of monitoring to see whether it grows or not. Thank you for the prayers and well wishes 🙏
A friend of mine passed last year from glioblastoma. Since he was on Medicaid, he wasn't given this care. He asked for standard of care, yet was ignored. This treatment is only for those who can afford it or whose insurance companies approve it. A disgrace.
That is so sad. Did your friend ever contact Duke university? They should take the millions that people have donated and paid to have this cure. The FDA doesn't want a cure too many people would be out of high paying jobs.
My husband passed from a GBM in 2007. He did, awake brain surgery, chemo and radiation but also got into a vaccinatiion therapy program at UCLA medical center. He lived 3.5 years with this curse. His father also passed from the same thing. This program brought me to tears.

My sister died at age 35. She lived just two weeks after they found the brain tumor. It was so large it was inoperable. Taking the biopsy caused swelling and it choked the brain stem the same night after the procedure. She left behind her husband and three teenage sons. God please lead these doctors to find a cure.
Glioblastoma (GBM), also referred to as a grade IV astrocytoma, is a fast-growing and aggressive brain tumor. It invades the nearby brain tissue, but generally does not spread to distant organs. GBMs can arise in the brain de novo or evolve from lower-grade astrocytoma.
What an emotional rollercoaster this video was. At the end seeing beautiful Stephanie Hopper lipscomb doing so well and becoming an RN and her angelic face then closing message on screen that she passed away in February 2020. Tears. F@ck cancer!
I lost a friend, 2 uncles, a cousin, and an aunt to cancer. This breakthrough gives me hope for others who are facing the pain of knowing someone they love has cancer and walking the journey towards goodbye in this life.
You do understand that pretty much all cancer is just a result of a horrible diet right? You don’t need polio to treat and possibly cure cancer. You need a low carb ketogenic/zero carb carnivorous diet. You must eat a proper human diet and at the very least, stop eating foods not appropriate for humans
Humanity at its very best. People working hard for years and years just to help other people. A wonderfully hopeful and exciting report. Thank you to the doctors, researchers, nurses and patients who made this breakthrough possible.
Breakthrough, chemotherapy and radiation all 100% unsuccessful, even it will damage more you're body or part of which had tumor, please avoid it , I have done it both not cure my tumor but I become more sick & weak after all I did surgery and cut tumor that's my own experience
My dad had glioblastoma… he passed in the summer of 2015. Dad had never been sick a day in his life until then. Watching my dad deteriorate and wither in nothing but skin and bones was devastating. I pray a cure is found.
Same thing with my dad, but it was colorectal cancer. He was 80-yrs-old. Worked out 5 days a week, volunteered on two political campaigns and was my brother's business manager for his psychology practice - in his spare time. He was vibrant, healthy, still mentally sharp, and had no symptoms - other than constipation. He had that checked out cuz he was so regular, and it ended up being an issue. He had a blockage in his colon and needed hospitalization. He was at stage IV, given 6 months with no treatment - up to 6 years if it worked. It didn't. He had the blockage, which put off treatment - then he kept having issues with his blood checks before chemo, and they'd tell him he had to wait another week. He was in horrible pain. He lost his appetite. The chemo ate him up - and it didn't work. He lost 30 pounds - and he was a small framed man. Then he ended up with another blockage. The did surgery, which was what Dad asked for right away, but at that point, he was so weak from losing weight, his body shut down. He became septic and never recovered. It was BRUTAL. He was gone in 4.5 months - January 12, 2019. I'll never forget the date. Cancer is so horrific, it can't be natural. I can't help thinking humans are creating this because of all the changes we've made to nature. 😢
@@RUclipsAddictcreatedbyGoogle Medical advances have allowed humans to live much longer than they did in the past. Increased chances of developing cancer is probably a natural part of aging.
I remember hearing about the polio virus cancer trials more than 10 years ago. I tried searching for it again years later, and finding no trace of any such treatment on the Internet. People thought I was making things up when I told them about it. glad to see it become main stream knowledge.
I don't know if this is a coincidence, but I have the same experience. I had a cousin who passed away from this aggressive brain cancer, and this was a bittersweet topic back then. I remember this episode back in 2015. I wonder why they are airing it again.
There was a fabulous documentary on this that now I cannot find anywhere. It was all about the race to find a cure for polio I think between the US and USSR. How finding monkeys was hard to do and how cancer absolutely is a virus. Isn’t it creepy?
Thank you for doing this. My daughter found brain cancer for 19 years. She tried everything they threw at her. First gamaknife, three d radiation, radiation seeds, vp16 chemo, regular chemo. And she was glad to try something that would help others. I pray that they soon find a cure. Thank you again for doing this and sharing your journey with everyone. God Bless.
That's exactly what makes 60 minutes the best program on earth. Thank you so much and thanks the medical professionals who devote heroic efforts to overcome dreadful diseases.
Why did 60 minutes choose this treatment with poor outcomes compared to Dr Thomas Seyfried’s metabolic protocols with much better outcomes? Why did the doctors say there are not better options when they existed for 8 years? Sure, modified viruses can be patented and make billions while the metabolic approach is very low cost and cannot be patented. Is money the only determining factor? How sad.
Lost my fiance due to brain cancer, almost exactly one year ago to this day. I hope this saves many lives and ends the suffering and loss of so many good people.
My son died from this in 2018. Two major surgeries. I wish this would have been available to help my son. 😢 I'm so happy to see some major success with immunotherapy. ❤ ❤ ❤ He was 29.
Available? Oh, FDA hadn't made it a break through therapy. Seems if we can blast out fake vaccines via the DOD's planned response, we could Warp Speed all under approved cancer cures.
I cried throughout this whole 60 minutes special. I think God that this really is working for other patients. If I could do anything in my life it would be to save a person who has cancer and doesn't know about the proper therapies that are more modern that can help so much. It is so terrible that the doctors don't or Not educated it is terrible that Duke University or whoever else knew about this therapy didn't share with all the oncologist in every hospital in the world.

I would have given ANYTHING for my mama to have access to a treatment like this. She did not deserve the suffering she endured for years. Twice she went to 2 different doctors, after having cancer previously even, and they didn't believe her. They said her pain was "just a part of getting older" or "it comes with aging." No it doesn't. It was cancer again and so much time got wasted. I miss her EVERY day. I love you, mama. RIP 12/14/2022.
I lost my wife to gliosarcoma June 23, 2004. Gliosarcoma is similar to the glioblastoma discussed in this video but even more aggressive. She fought it with grace and courage for 18 months, 3 times longer than she was given at diagnosis. She was also a 5 year breast cancer survivor, the two cancers being unrelated. The MRI's shown here could have been hers insofar as they're so similar. Seeing these brings back such a rush of painful memories. Sighs, I miss her terribly. Yet my heart is gladdened by this report, with the hope others will not have to endure what she and I did. I have the gray ribbon for brain cancer as my profile avatar. For all those who fought and lost, lest we forget, and to those few who've fought and won, your courage is beyond compare.

I am a survivor of stage 4 lung cancer for 4 years.nearly died from every chemo treatment because of allergic shock.took 25 radiation treatments, was like laying in the sun, loved it.and when it shrank from the tennis ball sized to a much smaller size, the surgeon then aggressively opening me up,not only removing the tumor but half my right lung and ,a rib or two.i never expected to live thru it all.i am 61 years young.the strangest thing came out of all this.when you live for years with the mind set you are dieing.,and it turns out your going to live, you have to learn how to live like your living again.
Question, how did you get the doctor to operate. My mothers gynecologist opposes to my mom getting surgery on a breast cancer net nodule she has in her lung. She insists that it’s pointless to remove it as the cancer is already in her body beyond her breast.
@@adrianapereda2173 Question: how do they know the nodule in the lung is from the breast cancer? Just curious…. If they don’t biopsy it, how do they know?
what caused your lung cancer, smoking. When the radiation shrunk the tumor, why not continue with the radiation until there was no tumor. What was the need for surgery
@intriverttoo24731 This brought tears to my eyes. My uncle has been living with cancer for over 20 years! Unfortunately, my great-aunt did not. She suffered from complications of the radiation and had to be airlifted to a burn unit where she later passed. I am glad you survived it! I am very grateful for the success of this much needed therapy. As an RN my heart dropped when I realized that Stephanie Hopper was Stephanie Lipscomb, the trail blazer of this research. 60 minutes should add her maiden name at 54:10. May her light continue to shine through and through to these brave souls and their families.
@Mel M Yes, it seemed given Stephanie's young age & then recovering to do what she wanted as a career, a nurse, this was a shock. To have 8 years added to her life & swept away is tear jerking. This kind of makes me wonder, and likely those at Duke doesn't yet, what's the life expectancy? Yes, she was the 1st patient who received the trial, and probably the longest to live out of all. At least she did get 8 more years, mostly quality ones, but I wonder, would just a tiny little more or less had made a difference? She was a brave and amazing woman. Remember when they greatly increased dosage, that's when outcomes weren't as good, however I don't expect everyone to receive the same. Later, some would get less than Stephanie & do good, but we don't know when the list was last up to date, because she was alive. Too, maybe it was the type of cancer being treated. It's my hope that Stephanie Lipscomb's journey is the beginning of something large.❤ Because for decades, over half or 3/4th a century, treatment was radiation, surgery & chemo (or burn, slash & poison). Many are caught in late Stage 3 or 4, as am sure many of these patients were & desperate. Some lives a few weeks, others a few years, depending on how early or late caught, age & am sure physical condition as well. Hopefully will be tested on other cancers & soon, because there's lots of other patients that wants a shot at life too.💯
My wife had a GBM in 2005/2006. She was treated with resection, Temodar, and radiation. Huge hole in her brain, lots of physical issues, but, still alive. 17 years is rare territory for a GBM patient. I know several people who had mere months. I hope this goes forward.
I'm extremely sorry your wife and family had to also painfully survive during that traumatic time. My heart goes out to you and wishes all of you healing and strength.
She could benefit from "intracellular" glutathione therapy. This is a superior option that drs aren't talking about. This can be achieved by a certain "undenatured" whey protein that raises cd4/cd8 lymphocytes.
May God bless Dr. Bromeyer and all his dedication and vision to make it possible to save lives. And to all those that endured this tragedy and lived so scared for so long, I wish you all nothing but love, compassion and a great life. This is fantastic news.

My dad lost his childhood friend to glioblastoma (brain tumor) in 2006 😢.. his name was Tom, and he was absolutely most fit person we knew at the time, did daily runs; would do marathons etc. Least he got to Travel the world before passing. RIP. It's one of the reason's why we donate each year to Cancer Society in New Zealand. I remember growing up always getting treats and OJ; and being allowed to pick strawberries from his garden to eat. In his last weeks of being alive, he was miserable and my dad felt awful so they gave him some chocolate (he wasn't suppose to have it) but it was a moment of happiness in absolute dread.. 2 weeks later he passed away.
Thank you to all of medical explorer's out there. My dad was also a medical explorer. He was in a cancer medical trial at the Sarah Cannon Cancer Institute. He was the oldest, on the medication longer and was completely cured of bone, brain, lungs and liver cancer than anyone on earth. He passed away of natural causes at 92 years old.
It kind of sucks to be in the receiving end of a dose testing trial, in extreme cases people can outright die. But there is on other way to ensure safety for the people to come. Thanks a lot to all the people involved in it.
There was a doctor that did something like this in the 90s with the aids virus. The little girl survived the tumor and was hiv resistant. I hope these people are well stay well and live a wonderful life!
This is what took my brother at age 24. I am so glad there has been a breakthrough in treatment for all others who have to fight this battle. And absolutely, the best Doctors and Nurses are those who have been through some serious medical stuff themselves; There is a night and day difference, they are more empathetic than those who haven't "been there" personally.
I've lost two grandmothers to cancer, so I'm really happy to see these results and in general to hear about so many strides in medical science. God bless these people that work so hard to heal those with no hopes.
Ok and I lost family to the disease as well. I can tell you that a ketogenic/zero carb carnivore diet is the ultimately way to get rid of cancer. People get cancer because of their diet.
this episode is priceless. giving hope where there is none. a show everyone should watch. because every family has someone that has suffered with cancer.
Wdym there is no hope? A carnivore diet or a very low carb ketogenic diet is way more effective than some deadly polio virus. Look up carnivore and brain cancer. Learn something.
It may not have been the cure they had hoped for, bit it did help prolong their lives. In Stephanie's case, it gave her 8 more years... long enough for her parents to see her get married. It may not yet be a cure, but it definitely has potential to be a blessing. That is what needs to be remembered.
It looks like the doctor (2nd patient) died a month after Stephanie in 2020. All three died of a re-occurrence of their brain cancer. The first two had good lives for years before it came back. Brendan had more ongoing issues because of his brain damage from bleeding and had more struggles with it re-appearing quicker but still got years added on. It would seem like this treatment is currently not a "cure" as you mentioned but does give some people extended remission time and maybe it will work better in the future. As a cancer survivor of over 20 years myself I personally never say I am cured but just note that I am currently cancer free and hope to stay that way. I don't think anyone that has had cancer ever knows if it will come back............
@@pattyfluegel7816 Yes Brendan volunteered and became the first person to have a second Polio treatment (along with Chemo) when his cancer returned but he died a year later as it did not have the same positive effect (he had other health issues as well). This treatment is extending life for some which is great as they have no hope but it is still far from being a "cure".
My best friend/sister, just past away in January 2023 from a glioblastoma that was the size of a golfball behind her right eye. She went through the radition, chemo, surgery, the whole nine yards. After surgery the tumor just went on a speed growth. She was given 3 to 6 months to live. She lived for 5 1/2 month from the first day of diagnosis. She was a veteran, and was receiving help from the veterans hospital, and a special oncologly hospital in Florida. I miss her so much.
I was an investigator of glioblastoma from late 1990s to early 2000s, and Bigner was one of my role models and had my greatest respect. Back in the days and probably today still, we didn't talk about "cure" of GBM; our goal was to make it to a chronic and manageable disease. Seeing some of the patients to survive so many months after the treatment, as Friedman said, is already very remarkable.
I guess that’s why we never cure anything- it’s not even the goal. No money in healthy people, but chronic, manageable disease keeps them in business 🤷♀️
I long for the day when cancer is not "managed" but studied for the reasons why we get it and how to prevent completely. The "War on Cancer" since Nancy Reagan has only increased the numbers and more lost lives. We need answers please.
@@pjames8712 I don't want to give you false hope, so I will tell you my genuine assessment with my almost 25 years of career in oncology research and drug development: based on how we identify potential targets for clinical development, how much money we invest and how much time it takes from discovery all the way to final approval, the failure rate of drug development (at least 90%), how much regulatory hurdles a drug company has to go through, and how much money a finally successful drug would cost in the end, I can almost assure you that a complete prevention is a very tempting goal to work for, but unfortunately will never happen in our life time. A "complete cure" is also not a tangible goal for all, and might happen in only a very tiny portion of patients at best.
This cancer killed my Goddaughter. At 34. She left behind 2 baby girls, 2 and 4. 5 years later, their Dad remarried, but Gretchen is celebrated on every occasion.....They were from GA too.... I SO pray this works..... Miss you G....I KNOW you're looking down. The last time I saw her was at Duke. I drove down from VA BEACH. I still see her...
Gosh man that girl that was the first to try it just seems like such a sweetheart. Like she was younger than I am now I couldn’t imagine it like it’s awesome they got rid of it
I was so happy to hear about Brendan Steele and Stephanie Hopper stories and I hoped that they would live for a very long time. But reading the text in the end was very emotional. I hope their families are greatful of the extra time they could spend together.
Please get this available to the many who are dying daily of glioblastomas. We need this available. It does no good if its just with half a dozen folks in a lab. This needs to change the world asap.
Stephane, the first patient undergo the polio trial, died in 2020 at age 28. Sad as that is, she was afforded eight full years of life she wouldn't have had without the treatment. Cancer is a horror, and will be for a very long time.

My daughter passed in 2020. She was 36 and left behind, a 16yr old son, who is now going to graduate from high school. I know if she was still here she would throw him a big party . I will now be doing that for her with friends.
My sister has Glioblastoma. She had surgery, chemo and tried the Optune machine but the Optune machine gave her blisters on her head. She said if the cancer starts growing again she’s not going to do anything. I past this video to her in hopes she won’t give up. She’s my sister I’m closes to and I will be very sad to lose her. Last MRI her tumor had not grown. She is due for another MRI. This is my second sister with Glioblastoma. My eldest sister died from this.
I hope she can be saved from cancer. My grown son has been fighting stage 4 cancer and it's growing and spreading. I just sent him this video. I sure wish he could try that treatment. Best of luck and love to you and your sister!
A friend of mine passed last year from glioblastoma. Since he was on Medicaid, he wasn't given this care. He asked for standard of care, yet was ignored. This treatment is only for those who can afford it or whose insurance companies approve it. A disgrace.

Problem is big pharmas ripping off the ill
Breakthrough, chemotherapy and radiation all 100% unsuccessful, even it will damage more you're body or part of which had tumor, please avoid it , I have done it both not cure my tumor but I become more sick & weak after all I did surgery and cut tumor that's my own experience
Absolutely Right
And this cure will never see the light of day because Big Pharma doesn't want to cure cancer.

There was a fabulous documentary on this that now I cannot find anywhere. It was all about the race to find a cure for polio I think between the US and USSR. How finding monkeys was hard to do and how cancer absolutely is a virus. Isn’t it creepy?

Why did 60 minutes choose this treatment with poor outcomes compared to Dr Thomas Seyfried’s metabolic protocols with much better outcomes? Why did the doctors say there are not better options when they existed for 8 years? Sure, modified viruses can be patented and make billions while the metabolic approach is very low cost and cannot be patented. Is money the only determining factor? How sad.

Bless these doctors and nurses and researchers!
Congratulations!! I'm so happy for you! I hope you stay cancer free!!
@intriverttoo24731
This brought tears to my eyes. My uncle has been living with cancer for over 20 years! Unfortunately, my great-aunt did not. She suffered from complications of the radiation and had to be airlifted to a burn unit where she later passed. I am glad you survived it! I am also tearing up, because an AI-generated family tree erroneously said that my uncle passed. No matter how much technology we have, there is always room for error. I think getting a second opinion regarding treatment options can also help.
The first participants are brave. Wishing the researchers much success down the road, and the patients cure and health. 👏🏼👏🏼
Just buried my cousin 5 days ago.....wishing we would have known this was an option.....we would have tried ANYTHING!!!!! Rest in peace Melissa

that's 21% versus 0% - a big increase in the odds. hopefully continued research will bring further increases.
WHY!? As with everything "news" worthy, I must struggle to find the facts. This is March 2023 and this was just posted on RUclips. The first I've heard of such ground breaking cancer research and yet the last dates given of death is 2020. WHAT WAS THE AIR DATE OF REPORT? In 3 years time DO YOU NOT HAVE AN UPDATE of such important news, or IS IT JUST FAKE? WTF. HOW DOES 21% COMPAIR TO PREVIOUS FORMS OF THEROPY? Also you did not clearify how the nurse that passed in 2020... WAS IT DUE TO COVID?

It's my hope that Stephanie Lipscomb's journey is the beginning of something large.❤
Because for decades, over half or 3/4th a century, treatment was radiation, surgery & chemo (or burn, slash & poison). Many are caught in late Stage 3 or 4, as am sure many of these patients were & desperate. Some lives a few weeks, others a few years, depending on how early or late caught, age & am sure physical condition as well. Hopefully will be tested on other cancers & soon, because there's lots of other patients that wants a shot at life too.💯
At that point they introduced her as Lipscomb.
I thought the same thing, Mel. There also should have been a cause of death. Did the gioblastoma return?

sadly I can join you in this statistic but also lost my parents. At 60 I pray my son stays out of the cancer pool the family has been in on my side.
You really think Pharma is gonna let a cure for cancer out? Won’t happen
At the rate AI tech is advancing, it can't be too much longer.
Yes, very true! And it is surely on the right track... closer than they ever were before to curing cancer.
@@jaycahow4667 huh. I wonder if it would work if they give them another dose when the cancer comes back. Have they tried that?

My best friend/sister, just past away in January 2023 from a glioblastoma that was the size of a golfball behind her right eye. She went through the radition, chemo, surgery, the whole nine yards. After surgery the tumor just went on a speed growth. She was given 3 to 6 months to live. She lived for 5 1/2 month from the first day of diagnosis. She was a veteran, and was receiving help from the veterans hospital, and a special oncologly hospital in Florida. I miss her so much.
Very sorry to hear that Alea.
❤Ññ87pⁿ😅9
@Yu Liang Melittin kills GBM and it's biofilm. Dr. Alan MacDonald found borrelia in post mortem brain specimens of GBM patients.
