    You are so right. I assumed that the darker rubber tree didn’t need bright light. Well, it dropped half of its leaves. Very surprising and interesting. I learned the hard way. Lots of good info here, thanks. I just got the shivereana. Fingers crossed!

    My family uses well water but with that it has water softener. Would this affect my houseplants?

    I know you have tons of houseplants and noticed you also own exotic animals. How do you treat houseplant pests? I’m always nervous spraying any kind of insecticide cause i have arachnids and roaches(feeders).

      I use a petroleum oil spray for plant pests it works great for spider mites, scale, mealy bugs and most other common pests, it's also non toxic so safe with pets because it's an oil pest insects get stuck in it and it covers their body and sufocates them, it will give your plants a glossy sheen though.

      Where to find petroleum oil spray? Is it home made?

    I recently bought a shivereana and a few of the leaves have started to go a little bit brown around the edges and a few of them have just a big brown spot in the middle of its leaves, I only bought it a week ago and I already own four other rubber plants. I have no idea why this is happening, anybody got any ideas why?

      Might have scale, one of mine seemed to always have issues with scale until I bought a spray to get rid of them but other than that I'm not 100%sure.

    question, If I cut a single tree to make it branch, will it get top heavy or will the main stem grow strong enough to hold the branches?

    • @reptiplantworks2294
      @reptiplantworks2294  3 года назад +1

      It should be fine but to play it safe ide let the main stem get at least over 2ft tall and more then a cm thick

      @@reptiplantworks2294 I've had really great luck giving my rubber trees a shake once a week (to replicate the wind outside). All 3 of Fiddles and my Rubber Tree collection all had thinner stems until I read that it's a best practice to give them a little shake weekly. It helps replicate what happens in nature which makes them get their thicker stems.
