Mine too. Dougray Scott became the villain in Mission Impossible and I still had the hots for him because of Ever After. It's the most believable Cinderella love story.
@@emmaswartz4549 jajajajaja I didn't watch mission impossible (because I hate tom cruise), but when I found out he was the villain I thought the same 🤭
One of my favorite movies of all time! It popped up on my RUclips recently so I watched it again for the umpteenth time! Whoever cast this movie did an awesome job, every character was perfection!
When I was 14 I tried to unalive myself and ended up in hospital for a week. They had movies we could rent from the nurses station and I chose Ever After. It was such a great movie to disappear into. Thank you ladies so much for getting me through such a tough time
Very nostalgic feelings right now!!! Drew, Megan and Melanie really haven’t changed at all. This to me is the best Cinderella film, it didn’t need magic to push Cinderella to achieve her goals. Drew’s Cinderella or Danielle was very smart, stood up for what was right and was a good role model.
Megan's face has filled out a little, to her betterment, imo - she doesn't have that narrow-faced peevishness to her appearance anymore, that I'm sure helped sell Marguerite as a b*tch- but her softer face still has a sense of authority, & she even seems like a chill, fun-loving lady!
It physically hurts knowing that Ever After is 25. Honestly probably one of the first movies I saw in theaters that I was old enough to actually retain memories of. To say it had a big impact for me as a little girl is an understatement.
i remember being a kid and thinking megan dodds in ever after was the prettiest woman i'd ever seen and she still is!!! my god they all look incredible this is so nostalgic
I feel like these women have all been so underrated in their careers & they all do such amazing, consistent performances. I still watch this movie at least 2x a year & am just so proud of how these ppl I don’t know have turned out & for what they contribute to this industry.
There should have been some calling out for avid Ever After fans. It might not be on the same level as Harry Potter or Star Wars, but it sure has its own devoted following. They definitely could’ve found fans of the film who would’ve been so delighted to be there.
Ever After is pure nostalgia for me. I love that movie so much. It cane out after my sophomore year in high school 4 days before my 16th birthday and I remember seeing it in theaters. I still love it to this day being 40 years old.
Dougray Scott was the PERFECT prince Henry. I remember swooning over him. The whole cast was just perfect. I adore this movie. Gotta go watch it again now!
That movie actually got me through a really difficult point in my life. “Just breathe” actually became a mantra for me that got the wheels turning for me to seek help for my severe depression and anxiety. I can still hear it in Drew’s voice. I’d just repeat that in my head whenever social phobia broke me or depression strangled me. It still works all these years later. That and “what makes you think I do ANY of this for YOU?” That has actually been another huge catalyst of persistence for me. All around a life changing and affirming film. I’m sure plenty of people would say “it’s not that deep”. It was for me. It still is. ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
When my writing partner and I were writing the ball scene, he was typing and I was pacing, as we were wont to do, and he said: 'she needs to say something to let us know how hard this is for her at this moment." I eventually said: 'Breathe" and he said; "Breathe?", and I said "yes, just breathe." Of course he typed in 'Breathe, just breathe', which became as usual, the third element in our partnership- doing the heavy lifting for us. I'm so glad when it helps anyone in this crazy world.
@@rppvt Thank you for that precious tidbit! Many moments if that movie changed how I thought. The prince showing her the trees and the subsequent quote; her quote about the royalty first making the theives and then punishing them; her using a sword to get out of slavery. I still have her characters hope, that all could be better by acceptance and education.
Ever After is one of those movies I will NEVER get tired of. ❤ I have always loved how tough and driven Danielle was. They tried to break her, and she kept fighting.
My favourite line from the film is " The only throne i want HER sitting on is the one i have to clean everyday". I use that line whenever i don't like someone
My sister and I loved EVER After so much and I haven't been able to watch it since she passed in 2020 but I'm watching this for us because it holds so much memory and good times with her. She'd be freaking out rn and we'd be quoting it back and forth. " im only here for the food" " i dont believe youve net my wife" " no the part where you said my name" " then you don't deserve her" etc That movie is the best Cinderella story adaption and a movie I got to love with my JoJo. Thank you for creating this cinematic masterpiece I got to share with her 25 years ago. ❤❤
This makes me so happy!! Ever After is one of my absolute faves! You were all so perfect for your roles and I loved how it flipped the script on traditional fairytales! It became a family tradition for me and my mum to watch it together on my birthday, one which I've carried on since she passed away. It also contains one of my fave movie quotes which is great to say if you've seen a kid having a tantrum... "There was a bee!" 🤣💜
Ya know where you're having one of those days where nothing goes right and you just want a any kind of win. When our beloved Prince popped onto the screen I burst into happy tears. Thank you cast and crew of "ever after" it's a film that's helped me get through a lot over the paste 25 years (where did the time go!)
This movie is and always will be my Cinderella story. Everything about it is just so perfect, it's one of my comfort films that I can watch over and over again. I am actually designing my own wedding dress and am incorporating details inspired by the Breathe dress, an absolutely gorgeous gown.
This was everything I've been wanting you to talk about Ever After for so long! This was sooo nostalgic and made me so emotional. Love this movie so much! It is one of my favorites.
This movie is probably my favourite rendition of Cinderella ever. It is so iconic and memorable. It is one of my comfort movies to this day. The part that i love the most is when Danielle picks up Prince Henry and everyone laughs and says come back I will give you a horse.
Lovely to see them all. And her carrying him was perfect. I would bet if their lives were really in danger, she could have managed it, but you don't want to break your star's back just to make that point.
I have watched this movie so many times, I know every line by heart. This movie has gotten me through break-ups and a divorce. It has been one of my best medications for my deep depression. Not just the positive story line for women, but even the serene cinematography, backgrounds, history, and scenic shots. It was perfectly cast. THANK. YOU. A classic.
Rewatched Ever After this evening, I knew I loved this film but didn't know I had memorised so many of the lines. This must have been on repeat as a child. This reunion has made my week!
Melanie Lynskey, with her real accent, makes me feel faint ✨️💗 it's a crime against humanity that she doesn't get to use it in more movies and shows and I will die on this hill.
I love Ever After, I watch it almost every week! And the music when Danielle appears at the ball was what I walked down the aisle to at my wedding. Such a fantastic movie, love this so much!!!
Still love this film! My favorite line was when Melanie went to the ball and asked what was she doing there, her answer was, "I'm here for the free food!" 😄😄😄 that too is my "go to" response whenever my presence is questioned! 🤣🤣🤣
This is one of my ultimate favorite movies, and this has made me so happy. It would've been awesome if Anjelica Huston made a surprise visit as well. It's amazing that all this time has passed and everyone still looks amazing as they did 25 years ago. Much love to this forever after and always 💖💖 And remember if life is tough just breathe ❤
My favorite and only Cinderella story 🥰 best story, best Danielle, best prince ( I love Henry) best stepsisters, best stepmom, best everything in that movie ! My favorite ❤️
I never realized the dress was a blush-champagne color, in the movie it looks silver. I love that movie so much, it was a huge part of my formative years and will forever be a favorite!
First movie I ever watched at a sleepover was Ever After, it was so wonderful snuggled in sleeping bags huddled around the TV (not a flatscreen) and falling asleep into popcorn bowls. Memories
This is legit the best cinderella movie ever made! It's been one of my all time favorite movies since it came out, THANK YOU DREW FOR DOING THIS ❤
I watched my VHS tape until it fell apart.
Mine too. Dougray Scott became the villain in Mission Impossible and I still had the hots for him because of Ever After. It's the most believable Cinderella love story.

This to me is the best Cinderella film, it didn’t need magic to push Cinderella to achieve her goals. Drew’s Cinderella or Danielle was very smart, stood up for what was right and was a good role model.
And this version of Cinderella, Danielle's stepsister Jacqueline wasn't bad.
That is the magic 🪄
It’s only until reading this comment that I realized There wasn’t magic in the movie!!
Fact's
This is the best rendition of Cinderella's story on screen. The best Cinderella EVER! I have tears in my eyes seeing this reunion. 😍
It physically hurts knowing that Ever After is 25. Honestly probably one of the first movies I saw in theaters that I was old enough to actually retain memories of. To say it had a big impact for me as a little girl is an understatement.
“There was a Bee” will forever be one of the greatest moments.😂
I have watched this movie a hundred times when I was a kid. One of the best renditions of Cinderella.
💖
I have Ever After on DVD. Looooove that movie. Gonna watch it tonight. It was so great seeing them back together what a treat!!!
This movie is one of my favorites!
EVER!
As you get older, having photos of your younger self (nude or not) is nostalgic. Bless them for being so free on set.
