I always loved it whenever the captain would say 'to all Malaysians, welcome home' on the flight. It always made me feel good to come back home from a foreign country upon hearing those words. 💕
Watching this from another country gives the ultimate goosebumps. You'll never realise the value of anything until it is taken away. Yeah la we have racial and religious issues. Yeah la our politics is shit. But at end, we are all Malaysians! No matter how much we hate certain things about Malaysia, at the end, it is our home...Our only home...
I have been living in Melbourne for 5 years now and it has only recently strikes me that I should perhaps go home and be close with my family in Malaysia. It's so hard to leave what I have over here but I really miss my family. My parents told me the exact same thing as the parents did in the video "go find a job there" "live there, don't come back to Malaysia", etc. In fact, the entire video could be my story too. It's something hard to explain/articulate but this video does it so well. It's inspiring. Thanks for making it Jinnyboy :)
the reasons are due to England controlling us before independents day(English). At the start,China people came here to upgrade it,and Malaysia was made from orange asli that was originate here.btw MERDEKA,SEHATI SEJIWA
It happens to a lot fo people. I had to chose my parents over my dreams.. my siblings got their dreams but our folks are old and I'm the youngest. I'm not Malaysian. I'm mainly Lao, Thai and European.
It's a sad choice friend, sad choice. Too many talented young Malaysians leave their homeland becuz they have no opportunities to put their talents to use in Malaysia.
I don't know why! My tears just rolled down right after the captain said "And to all Malaysian, Welcome Home" BTW I'm in New Zealand and I am missing Home so so so badly. Great Video!! Great works @jinnyboytv
4 years on, and this video still rings very true today, In this age of uncertainty, with COVID wreaking havoc on everyone's plans to travel back to our dearest home, Malaysia, and families being apart for more than 5 months and counting, with no end in sight, watching this video again gives a whole new level of sadness. In addition, with so much of bickering and "frog-jumping" from the politicians "who are doing this for the Rakyat" (so to speak), I wish that we have many of such simple Nasi Lemak stall, who has done a whole lot more in uniting us as a nation than the politicians who seems hell bent on dividing us. Just to end on a positive note, I wish and pray that this whole situation would end, and families will be reunited once more, and for all races to bond over our favourite food of all, Nasi Lemak!
Although Adam`s family making little money, they focus more on sincerity and connecting people. These touch my heart. It`s a good short film with multi-racial format in one video. Good job!
Although I'm from Singapore and still going through Primary 6 but I don't know why but this video makes me so resentful that my tears can't stop flowing. We all love our families and your different cultured friends. So if you are reading this, respect every other race, regardless of skin color, voice, gender and religion. And have a great day. ;,)
the only son in the family and has family business would understand how this feel. i can relate to this. thanks reuben and jin for reminding us how important family is. without them who are we right? as always, please continue to inspire our younger generation!
I am a 65yrs old grandma who misses her home country Malaysia.l live in Australia and have been away for 41yrs and enjoy watching your shows because of those memories. The beautiful scenery, food plus the language are all delicious to me so thank you .
Every time when I came back from Cambridge and heard the pilot said 'To All Malysian,Welcome Home' it's like an arrow to our heart it's felt like u are really at home that u don't wan to let go even though I had a dream I can't let anything happen to my parent because without them I am nothing so this story really inspired me I hoped u fell the same way to
Rewatching this in 2020 and damn, it still makes my eyes tear. Definitely one of my favorites, a short film that is able to touch the souls of many Malaysians. Well done man!
Just stumble upon this short clip and realise how much we've taken home for granted. This resonate to me a lot as an only child and being away from home for 10years, the thought of "is time to go home" still haunt me thinking can I leave everything and start all over? One thing for sure, 2020 - this year with such pandemic and close borders - #imisshome #rememberyourroot
This summed up for a lot of people in the world. Who gave up their dreams Just because of their family. This video has a lot of lessons that need to be taught in life. you can't have everything. No matter how badly you want something. Family is the number one priority and You must always sacrifice something in this world.
I don't cry but my tears are inside my heart, at the bottom of it. I love MY home since I was born. MALAYSIA is MY home. Thanks for such thought-provoking and heart-touching video and keep making influential videos for all !
Amazing video. Definitely touched my heart. Have migrated to Canada for over 20 years now. Wife from Malaysia and have 2 kids... bring them back home (to M'sia) regularly for this reason. No matter what, Malaysia is home... family is home. Thanks Jinnyboy for continuing to remind all of us this.
leaving to the uk to pursue my studies and dreams next week, let's just say that this video was really and eye opener for me, towards my future. good job guys!
OMG!! This is just like me right now. I'm currently in this situation . I'm living in Australia and my parents are in Malaysia . Now after I've watched this , it has defiantly brought me to my decision of going back home (Malaysia) and help me parents live a better life. After maybe when I get a little more older I can finally come back again to Australia for my further in studies. I will have a attend Tenby located next to Setia Eco Park. Thank you so much JinnyboyTV for helping me make my decision.
Kalian semua terbaik.
I was introduced to this channel by my ex when we first started dating. And I loved how he recommended me the videos. Somehow along the way we stopped sharing these videos. Today I opened my RUclips and randomly typed this channel’s name and this is the first video that popped up … and I feel so good watching. It’s like reliving my happy past.
This really hits me.. I am kind of going through the same thing. My parents told me to find a job in the UK instead of going home (knowing that opportunities will not be as good). Sometimes when I get homesick I question myself, wondering if I have made a wrong decision :(
Favourite part of the video, starting from 8:58 when he talked about his dad. It's so heart-warming to see how food can unite us Malaysians. Thank you for such a beautiful piece, JinnyboyTV. Continue to inspire and speak the minds of us Malaysians. Happy 59th Birthday, Malaysia.
I feel every connection in this short film. How awesome our country is that no matter what culture like Chinese, Malay, Indians, and myself In an, we still respect each other, loving our life and continue our generations. I wish everyone a Happy Independence Day and God bless. MERDEKA!
I don't know why, but now that I rewatched this video again, it really teach me a personal lesson. Living abroad can be a wonderful life for yourself, but deep down your family is still precious in your life. :)
Jin, your channel deserves waaaaay more recognition for the quality of the videos that you put out. Bravo for this, and thanks for all of your inspiration that you give each and every one of your viewers.
To me, this video showcases the culture and values ingrained in us malaysians. I also love the fact that his friends comes from different backgrounds. And how people in malaysia adopt different culture and languages just so we can communicate with each other better. I hope the future generations will continue to blur the lines between races and only see fellow malaysians as malaysians and overcome whatever barrier that's stopping us from achieving unity and better future.
sometimes, you have to choose. thank you for i have chosen home. thank you for i haven't regret anything. all memories which no amount of money can buy. i hope you still continue making more inspiring videos. God bless you guys!
it just touched heart. the story line is so brilliant. the ending is special. hats up gays for genius work. it's the same for all the people of every country. as well in NEPAL.
Can't help myself from crying while watching this scene. What the story tell is that no matter how famous we are on the other land we should look back where we started. And family is the most important even though we're success. We should cherish every moments while they still living and supporting us. Continue to do more like this short films.
i won't usually comment on your video but this video has a similarity in my life, family telling me to leave the country to get a better education and life, not knowing my family has struggled so much upon the way just for me to have a better life despite the fact that i;d have to leave them here, home is where your loved ones are. Its truly enlightening to know that Malaysians can be innovative and pioneering.
wow I'm currently in tears right now, watching this far from home, studying and now working away from home. I did promised my mom to come back soon. But i don't know how long is that 'soon'.
I can't explain how much I am grateful to have your channel I'm in Sydney and I miss Malaysia so freaking much. This just made me cry omg. You need more likes
im glad that this kind of video brings all of us together.. i mean us is we as a malaysian. how many of us really sit down in a table have 3 different races anyway? those were generation before us.
I am a Malaysian n had been living in Adelaide for 12 years after graduating from uni. This video has inspired me n remind me what is HOME means. Thanks
This is straight quality. Love it and the message this video brings. Parents will always be the most important people in our lives no matter what. They are the one who gave birth to us and brought us up, they are the reason for where we are and who we are right now.
I'm crying too! Thanks for this video, it is very inspiring. I have the same dilemma, I have been living in the UK for eight years and still wondering whether to stay in the UK or go back home. But Now I have decided and fully confirm that I will go back home. nothing worth giving up living with your parents. X
With the experience of studying abroad, and just back recently, I have to say, as a chinese, the food I most was looking forward to was NASI LEMAK! yeah its somehow odd for those havent experience this(Studying abroad for a lengthy time) but I'm sure many Malaysians (Malay, Indian or chinese) will agree with me... we somehow miss nasi lemak more than our own race's dishes first... I guess that's the true beauty of Malaysians, we love and are proud with our food! and of course also when we look each other as Malaysians instead of different races like how its been very well portrayed in this video. Selamat Merdeka my fellow MALAYSIANS!
JinnyboyTV, you guys have told a lot of stories in many different ways over the years, but this story of Home might have just been your best yet. Congratulations on superb storytelling in this touching piece of work.
I just run into ur video today jin, and guess what? I never been more inspired by Malaysian youtuber but you! So proud to be Malaysian! Keep on making great content like this Jin! #proud #malaysian
I get it, but Adam basically just threw away his (assumed valuable) German degree! Not just all that scholarship money he earned that the government or some company paid for, all his hard work, the effort gone to move all the way across the world into an unfamiliar town and culture, just went down the drain to sell nasi lemak. It's great if he's happy, but if he were a different person, someone who is shy or unsociable unlike his dad, that's a horrible life to choose. I'm just saying this video misses the fact that you should also take yourself and your wellbeing into account when making big life decisions.
They made sacrifices and we return in kind. That's the way how things work. Yes. We have dreams, but we are also people of circumstances. They said we have choices. Yes, we do, but the thing is, not all people can realize their dreams because they sacrifice for what's they valued most. From there, the next generation learns and they practice the same and it goes on and on and on...
+Mikeshouts Well if whoever is concerned is okay with throwing away all their hardwork put into trying to achieve their dream, I'm in no position to judge. Similarly, if it's the opposite and the person in question isn't going to do all that just to go home and sell nasi lemak to preserve the family legacy, they shouldn't be judged, ridiculed or punished for it. I know for a fact that if my parents told me to go home to run the family business, I'd have to decline. Personally, I can't do what my parents do, I wouldn't live up to their expectations, there's a good chance I'll just drive the business to the ground anyway. I am not my parents, so much so that I sometimes wonder if I'm adopted. Furthermore, I've worked long and hard to make a mark in the world on my own. I'm not saying everyone should leave their parents behind and completely drop everything they ask of you. They have of course done everything in their power to make us who we are and we should show our gratitude however possible. I just disagree with the idea that you should drop everything you've ever hoped to achieve just to please your parents, and that you should expect that of your kids. Our generation and the generations that will come are people too, with dreams and aspirations and plans. To expect us to ignore that is to take away a big part of what makes us human.
the thing is, if we pursued our dreams, we get carried away sometimes and cant spend time with our parents. when they are gone, it will make us think about our decisions in the past.but hey, who am i to judge. it is just my opinion. thanks.
I don't know, I missed my hometown so much after I watched this freaking best movie. I'm from Indonesia and my tears just comin way down after I watch this movie. the best part is when the father remember everything that his kids wants to. This movie is the best
Just remembered how good short film was. Recently watched/listened to the JTV hangouts with Tata and Jin mentioned this. And I have to say, Jin was quite right when he said he wanted to make the audience wonder what happens next during the ending.
I've been through this same situation at the moment. the very same one I guess. The struggle of continuing your dreams I have already achieved or go back home and start over from scratch for those loved ones. And I'm not talking about cinta or else. family, that is tearing me up inside. Thanks jin for all the amazing videos. Family is always number one,Life has blinded me at certain point. And maybe now it is time to do the right thing, again.
I'm a Malaysian who has been leaving in Spore for the last 20 years. Ryan and Reuben.. that was an amazing video! You guys have put in so much thought and emotion into this video. Great job!

This is straight quality. Love it and the message this video brings. Parents will always be the most important people in our lives no matter what. They are the one who gave birth to us and brought us up, they are the reason for where we are and who we are right now.
Hi Jinnyboytv, today's my birthday and I would love if you would reply happy birthday!
happy bafdai
Thanks so much man! Im a fellow Malaysian and I love your videos!
Happy Birthday
happy birthday boii!
I'm crying too! Thanks for this video, it is very inspiring. I have the same dilemma, I have been living in the UK for eight years and still wondering whether to stay in the UK or go back home. But Now I have decided and fully confirm that I will go back home. nothing worth giving up living with your parents. X
that cantonese made me feel like im at home
With the experience of studying abroad, and just back recently, I have to say, as a chinese, the food I most was looking forward to was NASI LEMAK!
yeah its somehow odd for those havent experience this(Studying abroad for a lengthy time) but I'm sure many Malaysians (Malay, Indian or chinese) will agree with me... we somehow miss nasi lemak more than our own race's dishes first...
I guess that's the true beauty of Malaysians, we love and are proud with our food! and of course also when we look each other as Malaysians instead of different races like how its been very well portrayed in this video. Selamat Merdeka my fellow MALAYSIANS!
if the myth true that jinny boy tv will reply to you if you're early
:)
+JinnyboyTV hi
+JinnyboyTV woo hoo, you guys sure know how to make someone's day
damn thats my line
JinnyboyTV, you guys have told a lot of stories in many different ways over the years, but this story of Home might have just been your best yet.
Congratulations on superb storytelling in this touching piece of work.
omg he was watching FRIENDS at the start
+xiaolinggg haha!
Sue Anne Totally agree! I guess there's nothing more they could have done to show the full picture. They'd need a whole series or movie for that.

Going back home in a few weeks and this just made me miss home even more. Great video!
seriously...66 dislikes......dont u guys love your home...???
From the accent to the hobo to the nasi lemak.. Everything was on point.. fusion of everything.
Love this video. I am away from kampung for more than 7 years too . Thanks JinnyboyTv .
a short 14min video but with so much meaning and one purpose is most important .... family!
No matter where you go, or what you do, Malaysia will always be HOME.
