Defrost timer was my issue. My 29 year old fridge was lukewarm. Freezer portion was ice cold. Checked coils. They were frozen over. Defrosted them with blow dryer. Fridge started getting cold again. A few days later, same problem. Checked defrost timer. It was broken. Replaced that for about $20 something. Fridge and freezer is back to normal.

OUR problem is that the appliance is READING both 1 AND H, meaning that the refrigerator/freezer will go to the MINIMUM, THEN the maximum (and THIS is where you'd HEAR the beeping)

Great video. My defrost heater was shot. $20 online for an aftermarket part. I opted for the $70 part from the appliance store. Still saved me a bunch of cash. I didn't need to call a repair person or buy a new fridge / freezer!

Hi, first thanks for your excellent videos. I have a refrigerator model Whirlpool
Model ED0GTAXMQ00, the center metal part when the two doors meet, gets very hot to the touch. I can’t find any video on this issue, can it be the wire harness that goes inside the freezer door. FYI, the back bottom motor fan ant the condenser fan are both working fine. There aren’t any issues with the temperature in the freezer nor the refrigerator.

I would like to see a video how to get to the avaporator fan motor on the sharp ion plasmacluster fridge freezer
I have a ge dss25ksrc ss I cleaned the coils. Both of the fans are running. Is the thermistor the next step? Can I by-pass it to test if it's the problem? I don't think the compressor is running.
I have a couple refridgerators that just dont cool enough ...45to 50 on refridgerator box side and 30 to 35 on freezer box
I have a 21 year old Amama refrigerator and the freezer is at the high 20’s and the frig about 40 deg F. Yesterday I pulled it out and removed the back bottom panels and vacuumed all the crap out. After one day it runs a little better but I think that I will have to get a new model. Last century I had a problem with another frig and it was caused by a loose piece of insulation stopping the fan.
Fixed it. Compressor relay was burned out on mine. It is a Maytag model# MSD2542VEB01 -$9 Amazon.

I have an lg lfx33975st and the evaporator fan isn't spinning. No obstructions and there is continuity, but it just does not want to spin when the fridge is powered on. Any suggestions?
Hello, I have a Samsung RFG298AARS, the refrigerator stays at 40 degrees while the rest of the unit seems to be working fine.
I have replaced the evaporator fan and thermostat.
If I push power cool the refrigerator will go down to 30 degrease.
With the junk appliances they put out today RepairClinic should be doing well.
I can't access the panels from inside of the fridge as there are no screws, it is an Indesit, any suggestions

This worked for me unplugged overnight left doors open and put a electric heater in front of freezerNext morning plugged it in and it worked!!!! Try this first before you run out and buy a new one

Hello, I have a new Whirlpool WRS321SDHV08. The ice maker doesn't have an on/off control arm. How does it detect ice level and then automatically shut off?
we have the same samsung fridge but what we did was simply switch off the power for 30 sec or more for the mother board to reset it self and then switch back on and the fridge was cooling again. and also while you waiting for the computer to reset clean the back where the compessor and the coils are that would help as well, try that before calling some one and spending money on a new fridge. thank u

I have a Whirlpool 26 in. side-by-side refrigerator freezer. The freezer works fine. The refrigerator freezes almost everything (milk, water, etc.) Repairman says bad thermostat. Never returned to repair. I'm looking for a video on replacing thermostat and someplace to order thermostat. Thanks.

Yeah, that won't happen because it involves brazing metals and requires the ability to deal with freon.

What should the ohm reading be from the evaporator defrost thermostat when at normal room temperature? I got 0.2 ohms at normal room temperature.
It's very important to keep your appliances at the proper temperatures. Keep the refrigerator temperature at or below 40° F (4° C). The freezer temperature should be 0° F (-18° C). Check temperatures periodically. If the temperatures aren't kept at the proper settings the more chance Listeria, a bacterium that causes foodborne illness, can grow, especially if the refrigerator temperature is above the safe temperature. Thermometers are the best way of knowing these temperatures and are generally inexpensive.
Not the freezing over of the drain at the back of the fridge.......???? That will happen now and then ....at the moment it happens with my new fridge which I could only place under the kitchen counter top with the acquired 5 centimeter ventilation space near the fridge top, which still traps a lot of warm air under the counter , which I think is the cause of the drain freezing over ?

My Kenmore model number GS5SVAXVB01 side by side is not cooling. I replaced the devise on the side of the compressor, with the 3 prongs, the compressor now runs, but gets warm/hot and still no cooling. I touched the cold line and the hot side line and neither are hot or cool. All the fans are running, and the coils are clean. Is there a video to diagnose this issue?
I have a mini fridge that just stopped working, I don’t think it makes any noise. Never thought about fixing it.
I have a Whirlpool refrigerator that is not cooling(does not have a freezer section). The compressor and all fans are running. The only issue I see is that it is icing up where the tube comes from the condenser into the small copper line going back to the compressor. It is right next to the thermister. Any suggestions? My KitchenAid Side by Side (Model number KBFS20ETSS01) is not too warm. My refrigerator is stuck at 55 degrees, and my freezer is at 40 degrees. I have unplugged and plugged it back in, turned it off, using the Temp Control buttons, but the desired temp settings, go right back to 55 and 40 (Fridge and Freezer) respectively. No matter what I do it goes right back to the warm temperatures.

Would you mind advising me, my compressor is running, both fans are working well, I cleaned the coils (they were very dirty) , the main panel shows no signs of damage, blown capacitors etc, this began when my wife accidentally didn't close the freezer all the way so it iced over, unplugged for 2 days now, I'm thinking the thermistor or other temp sensor not calling for cold, all my major components are running fine. @@mrooah LG has a compressor lawsuit going on with their models as well as Kenmores using the same LG compressor. This might not be the fix you're looking for, but it can get you a new fridge.
The freezer compartment [top of the fridge] is working fine - but the fridge stopped working a few days ago, We defrosted the fridge as there was quite a lot of ice build-up in the freezer compartment, but the fridge is still not working. Any suggestions please!
Hi Guys, I have model E23CS78HPS5 Electrolux icon series freeze . having issue with it is not getting defrost and then freeze get warmup . one tech came in check defrost heater and thermostat is ok along with evaporator fan ok, compressor is ok ,condenser coil cleaned , now try to find temperature control board or main board could be issue that not sending signal to do defrost cycle. head office had no info other than suggesting call their tech but they don't have control board in stock . any help to open this both board to inspect before ordering or other hint would be appreciate.

I have a GE GFE27 and the front panel reads two different temperatures. When I press the temperature setting it reads 34 degrees as temperature sat for the refrigerator but when that reading goes off then a temperature of 55 shows as refrigerator temperature. My refrigerator feels warm, like 55, and my milk went bad. what do you think the problem is? should I get someone?
What could cause only the top evaporator coil (where the freon is entering the coils) to be cold but the rest of the coils to be NOT cold? The air coming out of the air baffle on top of the fridge is warm but the compressor seems to be working since there is frost on the first coil but it seems most of the evaporator coils are not getting cold.

Question: whirlpool frig auger not coming on.......took it off and put 120v direct and it works....checked the micro switch in the door and have continuity.......put a volt meter in one of two wires going to micro switch to see if power grounded the other lead to frig nothing did with the other wire, no voltage? any ideas??? thanks

I replaced my heating thermostat, temperature sensor, and heating element and freezer coils still freeze up and heating element won’t turn on. But it will turn on if I jump start the board by touching j9 and j11 with a wire, why doesn’t my heating element turn on with out touching j9 and j11 together? Please help my food is going to waste

My refrigerator is a GE profile, side by side. The freezer side is working just fine, but the fridge side has gone warm. The message "dE" is flashing. I unplug unit from the wall to do some kind of reset, but this has not helped after a while, what would I need to do, please?

Oh, I solved my problem by replacing the heater.
Ken Akoh-Arrey I also have a GE and it built so much ice in the freezer I got in the fan and was very loud so I unplugged it to defrost it but now the freezer works in the refrigerator does not and it's only 2 years old
Freezer fan blowing cool air but not freezing food or water. Whirlpool top freezer 13 years old.Condenser coils are clean, door gaskets seal good, compressor is not hot and food in freezer real cold but, water in ice tray will not freeze.
The fresh food department is cool and not cold.

Please advise what your thoughts are - I am trying to find a problem in my side by side fridge freezer as while fridge one works fine, the freezer evaporator is only 1/4th frosted and so food does not freeze. Everything seems working fine, there is no sign of leakage in the coolant and I'm puzzled..
its most likely short on gas ....after recharging the unit clean the condenser

I just got this refrigerator three days ago the only exception is it’s a Frigidaire. The temperature is fine but It has not stopped running since I plugged it in. Is this normal on new refrigerators ?

Lilly C I would look at the components that are listed in this video to address a fridge not cooling issue. If it has frost build up then could be a defrost issue. If no frost then check some of the other parts mentioned such as the damper door or condenser coils to see if dirty.

I have had problems with my Samsung RS267lash Fridge over
freezing and causing inside middle vent hole and fan to eventually freeze to
point of no airflow , then fan grinding eventually to a halt from being frozen.
When I force the fridge into defrost mode, it does not seem
to melt the ice either.
*Theoretically, if I force it into Defrost mode, the heating
elements should come on and should be able to test 110V Correct?
Don’t think it’s a bad Defrost heating element , last time I checked this it showed 96 ohmsDefrost sensor (yellow) was +- 2K at Room temperature.
Thermal fuse (Red black /w white foam) = 0 ohms
Not sure what to do now.
I know this is not really a Professional solution, but have you tried setting the freezer down to 0 occasionally and putting everything into like a deep freeze temporarily and then allowing the freezer fan by itself to come on after 2 minutes and defrost itself and that vent due to the cold air escaping and fan running? Some refrigerators have liner protection mode and the freezer fan only will Definitely Come on even if you turned it off After you left the door open for more than 2 minutes. That's not recommended. But that should keep it going without any problems until you can find out why it's doing that.
Oh I see this was 2 years ago. So you probably got it fixed or threw it away by now. Lol

I have the whirlpool side kick and the temp box will not light up . while the fridge is running it is not cooling enough to keep the temp . out of the spoilage zone. This has been the worse appliance I have ever owned . We have only had the side kicks about 2years and had major repairs within the first year . The company did cover those repairs but we are out of the warranty window.
