Just a tip for your curtains. Make the pleats where you want them and then loosely tie a flat ribbon around them and the curtains will ‘learn’ how they should hang. Looking forward to seeing the rest of the house.

Omg, this is my other obsession other than cooking - interior design! I love these types of videos, I hope you are able to produce more for us as your renovations progress. Shopping for fabrics, antiques and redoing pieces is one of my side hobbies, along with distressing hubby with rearranging rooms and endlessly trying to change the house. I hope this isn’t too stressful for you both and you get to enjoy the process x.
WOW! What a transformation and love the wall covering. Hint: train your draperies by using some kitchen plastic wrap to make ties after you get your pleating smoothed out. Use 2-3 plastic ties per panel will take 3-5 days. Can’t wait to see the rest of your home! Happy New Year to your family!!
Oh my GOD! I love your dining room, especially the light fixture!!! Even the drapery rods are awesome! The wallpaper is shimmery and beautiful, and transports you to the outdoors. Your table, chairs and rug should just be packed up and sent to me. Amazing, John!

It’s wonderful when you can put together something you love. Everyone has different tastes, thank goodness because if we didn’t everyone would like the same thing and how boring that would be. Your creating something you love and as I said that’s wonderful. I’m not a fan of your choices but as long as you enjoy it and love it that’s what counts🙃
Always save the paper and the extra paint. Cheap paint touches up better than thick expensive paint. Expensive paint showed up when you spot paint in my experience. In regards to children messes.
At Christmas I hang red velvet curtains in the dining room and to train perfect pleats in no time I actually threaded craft wire through the bottom hem and bent to perfect rounded pleats. I used needle nose pliers to round the ends so the fabric didn’t get damaged, worked like a charm. If your curtains don’t have open hems the pleats can be trained with super thin fishing line tied around, like 4lb weighted fishing line. Be blessed as the home comes together! ❤️
This was magnificent ! all the elements come together organically~ rich but not fussy, can be formal or more casual depending on the mood/ ambiance of the gathering. You guys all did a great job. I hope you have endless happy family/ friend moments❤

I love the wallpaper! Wallpaper has kind of been on my bad side since growing up in the 80s with the leftover 60s and 70s paper on the walls that made everyone just want to rip it off. But now I think I might really need to give it a chance. The whole room is beautiful and tasteful. Nice job!
The room is fab! OMG Im so envious! We are building our vacation home and are just starting to look at what we want for furniture. It's EVERYTHING! Lighting, bedding, dressers, tables, chairs, sofa, rugs, etc. Im so mannequin (is that spelled right? doesn't look it..oh well) shopping the house. LOL

Gosh I wanna be part of that household. I’ll be a nanny! John, Here’s my brief resume. I can teach the kids Spanish, I cook really good Spanish foods, I’m OCD when cleaning, I know how to ride a lawn mower to cut that beautiful pasture-like yard you have (I have 8 acres in the country side of TN), I’m super organized and I love baking and I’m short and slim so I can fit anywhere in the house. I can live under the kitchen cabinets so you drop off crumbs I can live off of that 🤣🤣🤣 Every child deserves to grow up in a home with such beautiful parents and amazing positive energy like yours.

If you're doing the entire house room by room over an gutting, I guess you purchased an older house and not a new one. The dining room is beautiful, I love the wallpaper and the wood below it.
Its so great how many of you have opinions about their house. They clearly chose it, bought it, and installed it. I never once saw a "put your opinions in the comments below" moment. If you dont like something, the wallpaper, the table, the rug, or the paint(strangely the chairs were spared) then when you decorate...dont buy them! He is crazy excited about this room, and we love him and his channel, so let's just congratulate him on a room he loves and wants to share with his family. I think...to quote John, it is SSSSSS-tunning!
