A truthful documentary about brutalities ( execution)committed by both Nazism regime and Vichy (French popped)regime against Jewish ✡️ communities ( French citizens and foreigners) during WW2...thank you 🙏 ( Slice full Doc) channel for sharing.
Advise reading his book "French Children of the Holocaust". 1800 pages or so of French children apprehended largely by the French, put in French camps, then deported to Nazi concentration/death camps. Very, very few returned. Tells me all I need to know about French anti-Semitism. An eternal disgrace to France.
On our second day in Paris, while crossing from one attraction to next next, we stumbled into a small, mostly run down Jewish cemetary. None of the dates on the tombstones were any newer than 1939.
There’s a memorial to the deported Jews in front of Norte Dame on the eastern tip of the Ile de la Cite. It’s easy to miss and I only checked it out because I saw a turnstile.
It is disgusting how the French police- NOT the SS- apprehended, Interred and deported to Auschwitz as many jews- at first refugee jews but later all French jews as well- as they could round up. They may have deserved our help in WW1 but it's a shame that we liberated France before defeating Germany.
Pétain not only refused to defend his homeland invaded on May 17, 1940, but he also betrayed the French government which appealed to him, having made the mistake of trusting him. From May 26, 1940 he will resume his disastrous defeatist attitude of 14-18 and will be in favor of laying down his arms and in favor of a dishonorable armistice against the advice of part of the Government. by this attitude he will thus hand over the sovereignty of France to the Nazi invaders
You forgot first Petain had a cowardly attitude on May 17, 1940 when he arrived in Paris, after already 3 cowardly refusals, for not wanting to occupy the Ministry of War You also forgot Traitor to his government who was wrong about him trust between May 26 and June 16, 1940
I've read a good bit about Serge and Beatte Klarsfeld and I was happily surprised to see him in this video. They did so much to bring escaped Nazis to justice after the war.
I collect old travel documents, and amongst them are red, J or otherwise Jewish stamped identity cards, and passports from that era, which are very historically interesting as you can trace the holders either route of escape or his transit to the east
For the average Parisian, German occupation was a difficult situation. Most people pretended to support Marshall Petain, while not actively collaborating with Vichy. Some - particularly Leftists - secretly helped Jews or the Resistance, but survival required discretion. ⚖️👎

Incorrect! History is punctuated with facts and misdeeds as long as these are confirmed by serious and verifiable references. This can only be doubted by those nostagilics of this infamous era of the Petain regime in Vichy (1940-1944)
Where are the cinematic scenes taken from? is it a movie or a TV show? and what is it called? I am talking about 12:09 and 15:30 and 16:00. thanks in advance
I really dont get the Frech until today! Why are they that hateful about this Vichy solution? I really dont get that! Which were the options in June 1940? ...and? I never heared a single word, that their commander set this strong army into the ground! Frech! They have their own view on history the last 250y.
Gaullists and resistance will say Pétain shouldn't have signed the armistice and continued the fight. But it's nonsense. France would be entirely occupied by germany and what then? Continue the fight from north Africa? It's nonsense
@@manuelpanisse5991presumably the British should have given in as well in which case Europe would be either dominated by Nazi Germany or if the USSR was won the Russo German war by a Stalinist Soviet Union. Tell your narrative to the Poles who never stopped fighting unlike the Vichy French. De Gaulle was a great man as were the few patriots like Leclerc who supported him.
De Gaulle was an egomaniac. His patriotism aside, it is curious how he chastised Pétain for signing the armistice. Almost as if he had something personal against Pétain. Never really attacked the germans, he only attacked Pétain. Civil war, the purge of 1944. @johnappleby405
@@manuelpanisse5991 Petain represented fascist tendencies that went far back in France and made surrender to the Nazis easy. Petain was a junior staff officer in the same French General Staff that irrationally persecuted Capt. Dreyfus for years. And the fascistic French Navy sabotaged DeGaulle's peace negotiations with Ho Chi Minh by shelling Haiphong in 1946 without orders and killing 7000 people. Finally you have the Pied Noirs and their terrorist campaign against French decolonization.
Commentary by a negationist, who vainly seeks to create a pseudo confusion while serious and verifiable references are demonstrated by Histonians such as Robert Paxton, who opened the eyes of the French in 1972 to the true responsibilities of Petain, his ministers and leaders soldiers who all betrayed the government of the Republic on May 16, 1940, and the Franco-English agreement of March 28, 1940.
Marshall Petain did all he could do to stay in power and if that meant killing some Jevs so be it - the french had some problems when the second world ended- half with the germans and half with the allied side
Sure the nazis very bad guys and Petain gang was no credit for their nation. But, being allied to Stalin and giving him a half continent as a prize is by far a more colossal deceit, a betrayal that has not many of same magnitude to compare during the world's history.
1:55 "No minutes, no account of what was said..." Reminds me of Trump's conversation with Putin. If it couldn't be broadcast to the world, then it was bad.
Angel did make men In their image. And God said let us make man in our image. Yes a man in the image of God not angels "Adam". Adam fell to the deception of angels. And Christ Desiree the redemption of all men those of God an angels Was nailed to a cross. It is done.

I’m. not sure what your point is. Maybe the cemetery was closed to new burials in 1939? Burials were transferred to a new cemetery?

There was a very strong right wing political movement in existence in France.
