Yeah I don’t usually share my opinion or bother commenting on any videos for that matter but this college thing struck a chord with me. I was a super big loner in high school. Freshman through senior year I literally talked to no one, I had terrible anxiety and just generally avoided people for the most part. I don’t think I felt particularly lonely at the time cause I didn’t really know anything else, I was super insecure due to my physical appearance so it was just me, myself and I all the time. Not only that but I didn’t do any extra-curricular stuff, like ANY. Everyone has their established friend groups and if you wanted to make friends you had to force yourself or introduce yourself into a new group of people that already knew each other pretty well, which was damn near impossible for someone like me. I go to college cause I was forced to by my parents, that’s when everything changed. I was sitting alone in my dorm room with the door open, cause everyone in my hall was encouraged to have the door open to catch a cross breeze through the open windows in your dorm room; and the one across the hall from you because we had no A/C. It was late summer at the time and man let me tell you, that heat was no joke so you really didn’t have a choice. Either way my door was open and I was alone reading and some dude just walked into my room and said he wanted to go explore campus, he offered me an invite which I almost declined but he convinced me in the end. The dudes name was Josh he ended up being the first one of my many long time friends I’ve made at the dorms. Over the course of college I made more and more random friends cause not too many people in college knew each other so everyone was super extroverted. I was invited to stuff for like the first time in my life. I got invited to go to the cafe with people I never met, to go play frisbee with people I never met and eventually I went and started talking to people I never met by myself. Now I’m so extroverted. I’m so confident. I love my friends, they mean the world to me. They meant more than video games, reading and school, which summarized all I cared about in life. College is one experience I wouldn’t trade for ANYTHING. The saddest part is that I didn’t even realize how sad my life was before going to college, I could never go back to that way of living. I love people. I love my friends and a lot of the time I consider them more important than most family. There really isn’t anything like college, it’s bittersweet honestly. If you read all of that I appreciate you and I think anyone that was in my shoes or finds this post even remotely relatable should get themselves to college and give it a shot.
Thank you really for sharing this, and I relate to you to almost everything man. I'm extremely introverted and I've been discouraged to meet and make friends with people because I've been lonely for years to come, and I just started college and its fucking great but I'm doing so badly academically I'm scared to death that I won't make it man, I feel like I might unconsciously go back to my old introverted and anxious self, which I hate the most. I'm glad you're doing well and I hope you stay well and better friend. Wish me luck :) ❤️
I'm a Junior in high school. I was doing online learning from March 2020 - February 2021, with a summer break from mid-June - early-September, and I learned truly nothing. I started going back to school last month and I completely forgot what it felt like to be around people, which was really weird.
I had an English teacher make my whole class take a personality test and I found out that my type is more likely to be a cult leader or dictator than any of the others.
Meyers Briggs is the only reasonable personality test. It is pretty stupid at times, like the section on which personalities you should try and hang out with, but it's good for giving you a look at yourself. We had to do it in 10th grade and it helped with giving a self-assessment. For example I knew I had issues getting out of my shell and talking to people I didn't know, but the test gave me methods of helping with that (the site I was on at least). I don't think you should define yourself off of it, but it did help me with finding ways of improving myself and also gave me a spectrum of careers to look into.
I think that's where internet content creators like the hosts here just don't have the perspective to see how an evaluation like that helps grease the wheels of development in other areas of culture. I work in a warehouse and am being trained to lead my own team and these tests really help move things along when getting to know a new team and getting them to work together. Same can be said for a lot of other workplace environments, but someone whose career has been independent online entertainment ever since graduating just doesn't and can't have that point of view. Not to belittle them or imply their career isn't "real" work, but they're not exactly in the best place to make those broad statements on tools actual teams use in productiom and team-based careers.
Eh, I did that and my result was just completely unrealistic and not like me at all. Some of the questions are just odd or don't make much sense to me and honestly I don't think we can fit humans into nice little categories. Some people rely far too much on personality tests and let it explain their actions etc which I think is silly.
@@ej8318 I think its important to make the distinction between the online 16 personalities test vs Myers-Briggs type psychology tbh, obviously an online test is prone to error but the science its based on and the theories that supplement it(i.e the cognitive functions) are pretty solid. I used to think the same about trying to fit people into 16 categories, but each category is a lot more nuanced and not as rigid as the online 16personalities test portrays them. I think of each category as just the nature, or how each person is inclined to think/feel/process things rather than saying someone will act a certain way because they have a certain type, as nurture obviously helps differentiate between how each person behaves.
mbti is more about categorising how you process information, emotions, social situations & the like than about saying 'youre an optimistic, happy go lucky philanthropist'
I think what Jackson is trying to get at, is that the Meyer Briggs test is more or less a medium for people to reflect their own qualities in a simplified form. Of course, the tests aren't completely accurate as people may input their idealized qualities and personalities and characteristics constantly change, but the point is to give a general sense of how we see ourselves. After all, our identities are influenced by our interaction with people and our assessments of how they view us. As for the people that uses it to validate themselves, categorize others, and have it define themselves, there are always people like that and I don't see how it necessarily takes away from what it actually does.
I completely agree and wanted to see a comment about this. Your personality is going to be under constant development because of your environment. Facilitating yourself under your idealized personality or a simplified version of your personality usually tends to be a way of coping for a lot of people who speak about personality types. There are of course a good amount of people that just use and talk about personality types for entertainment, which is the way it should be. As long as people approach personality tests and the concepts that come along with them light heartedly I think it’s a positive thing.
Makes me think, the one time I tried to get my bestfriend to stop being friends with somebody is because that person tried to murder me, which is an extremely unique situation

Idk if this has been said but for switching lives with someone I would switch with a super rich person, create a reason to give my original person a good chunk of money, then switch back at the end of the day if it is just a day, I dunno what I would do for permanently switching tho tbh
1:26:00 - Astronauts have to work out two hours a day, *Every day* on the ISS in order to stay alive as it keeps their heart strong (in zero gravity if you're not exercising your heart it'll start to atrophy and it can lead to heart problems) and staves off osteoporosis in the bones. As for colonization, centrifuges can create artificial gravity.
Fun little tid-bit of info I live in AZ, which has one of the worst schooling systems in the us; and down here the high school district decided to choose whether people went back in person or online based on test scores... as a high schooler i can confirm: my social life has been ruined to the point i can barely even walk in my own neighborhood because "oh what if people see me and judge me". im also alone for 9ish hours every day since neither of my parents work at home, and its been like that for the past year or so. my health (physical and mental) has also gone waaay downhill. im so unmotivated to the point where if food takes more than like a minute to prepare i just wont eat anything. its really not fun being 16 years old and not being able to carry a laundry basket downstairs without getting horrendously dizzy when you used to be pretty strong :/
Ironic how the keep shitting on personality tests bcs they define you by your answers and then they proceed to advertise a "Perfect workout plan" for you based on your asnwers
The two years of online school are far better than the extra lives it would have cost. The states (including my own) that are trying to force schools to open sicken me. My father's a teacher in Georgia and it was a FIGHT to get masks to be mandated in his school. My county includes half decent people, and half anti-maskers. So the committees decide for both sides on a lot of things, but thankfully we won this battle. Now parents from the other half of the county (they're rich obviously, this is the south where slave money runs the economy) are beginning to pressure (bribe) the superintendent more than us. I lost my whole first year of college and the last month (including graduation and prom) of my senior year of high school. So I know the effect it has on us students. But with these, I lost my only friend. She would still be here if we had listened to science and closed schools when we should have. And now I have to fear for my whole family because my father's school is in a district where anti-maskers & anti-vaxxers are pushing back and Brian Kemp controls the elections. I say all this to explain where I am coming from when I say that people who want to reopen schools should not have children, and those who push dangerous conspiracy theories should be exterminated. If the US didn't tolerate this nonsense (seriously, look at our death count and compare our political leaders to ANY other country) we would have had fewer deaths and only the worst of society would die. When the pandemic ends, these mass murderers will go on with their lives while innocents that they killed can't have a future.
For me I felt like an adult when I got my syllabus for my second semester of freshman year of college which was this year btw lol but I looked at it an all of my classes were basically "here's the syllabus for the classes you're paying full price for and just teach yourself send it in and maybe I'll look at it at some point" and I immediately turned around to drop out of college

I first thought this said inc*st in space and I was very excited to hear Charlie’s commentary 😂
Fun little tid-bit of info
I live in AZ, which has one of the worst schooling systems in the us; and down here the high school district decided to choose whether people went back in person or online based on test scores...
Ended up going back to online because everyone would just cheat on the tests which made the scores better.
why does charlie always look like he doesn't want to be there
He looked super tired and a bit checked out this episode
they film at like 6 am
I have shit communication skills and now a massive introvert due to no school and i lost most of my friends due to my lack of communication to them :')
Can we get diesel patches on the podcast
BILLY agrees

Fuck no. He jumped in the anti pyrocynical circle jerk the second he could with no real evidence. He isn't any better than Turkey Tom. Generic, narcissistic, and unpleasant In general.
Personality tests do a really good job of those five base personality traits. It really does give you a good sense of a person.
Not even 2 minutes in and I’ve been assaulted in broad daylight as an INFP
Imma keep watching
I go outside once a week and this is what I listen to during my walk.
Yelled "Fuck yeah" when I saw this and knew it Kaya would shine
I hate how good y'all are in transitioning into ads
When they did the fit bod ad I thought it was a joke for the first 10 seconds
Alternate title: Alt-right turkish man kept in check through adjusting camera
yes sir
Kaya is definitely not alt right, he strikes me as a right wing libertarian
@@Yuki-bk2my examples of his views/things he says?
@@dylgreco He knows how evil governments can be, this is something hes spoke about a lot when he was in Turkey, hes spoke about how he hates the government censorship in germany a lot too. A lot of other things he says makes him sound centre-right, obviously this could be wrong but if i had to guess i would say hes centre right libertarian
@@dylgreco why didnt you ask for examples when the first guy called him "alt-right"?
I literally just tab this and listen while gaming, very good vibes. everyone in it is awesome
Welcome to the scrolling while watching gang
These are nice to listen to.
it really depends on the person, i considred myself an adult at 12 because i had already witnessed so much, most of my childhood was spent hiding my dads vodka from him, standing between arguments and hiding when the cops came.
Respect brother hope your doing good brother
kaya with his cat is adorable lol
Na ya when I have way to much times on my hands All leave a long ass comments and thing really deep thought the simple problem but I do do that in real life just because if I don’t then I’ll go into a situation without having thought everything through yet so I try and think it thru well
as a high schooler i can confirm: my social life has been ruined to the point i can barely even walk in my own neighborhood because "oh what if people see me and judge me". im also alone for 9ish hours every day since neither of my parents work at home, and its been like that for the past year or so. my health (physical and mental) has also gone waaay downhill. im so unmotivated to the point where if food takes more than like a minute to prepare i just wont eat anything. its really not fun being 16 years old and not being able to carry a laundry basket downstairs without getting horrendously dizzy when you used to be pretty strong :/
I’m a college student doing online classes and I relate to that so much

How did you know?

The prank death thing?
Bro At least you can count on Kaya for being genuine. Also the prank death thing wasn’t even bad morally speaking. The man was asking for death
Also wtf are you not allowed to listen to pg-13+ content or something?
Perfect timing, was just searching for something to listen to
I'll say it again, the intro to the Charlie podcast is Amazing.
Nice vid man 😎👍
As a child myself I can confirm that we are absolutely useless and contribute nothing to society, we only take and never give back.
Pandemic schooing is tough
Ironic how the keep shitting on personality tests bcs they define you by your answers and then they proceed to advertise a "Perfect workout plan" for you based on your asnwers
Ones harder to do so it’s inaccurate? Or maybe it is just irony
WOOOOOOO BABY, that's what we've been waiting for!!
When the pandemic ends, these mass murderers will go on with their lives while innocents that they killed can't have a future.
oh boo hoo
For me I felt like an adult when I got my syllabus for my second semester of freshman year of college which was this year btw lol but I looked at it an all of my classes were basically "here's the syllabus for the classes you're paying full price for and just teach yourself send it in and maybe I'll look at it at some point" and I immediately turned around to drop out of college
