I just picked up a 59 morris minor in vancouver Wa. I am so excited to get started. I am going to be picking your brain about best places to get parts and get this fun car back on the road
Great Moggie!!! I have one aldo 1969 - Engine 2L Twincam Fiat Lancia!!! I am restoring and will be great soon!! Enjoy Mate your great Car!!!!! Pablo De Oliveira
A great car, good choice. 😊 I had one some years ago, it had a 1275 cc engine from a MG might or Mini, disc brakes on the front, also from a midget. You can take parents from any MG stick them on your Moggy Minor (as us Brits called them). Let me know if you get fed up with it’ you never know, only thing is I am only a year younger than the car. Loved the video. Steve
Looks like like it has been re-upholstered with CLOTH. This will make it warmer to sit on in winter , and cooler to sit on in summer! Much better! And even the shelf at the front,, under the dashboard, has been upholstered in the same material! You can upholster it the same, in the BOOT to make it luxurious! And, the white stripe round the tyres is called WHITEWALL tyres! Sometimes these stripes cover the whole side of the tyres, but I like how it is on this car!
This model was very popular in my country Malaysia during the British colonial era. Before the colonial masters returned to their homeland, they sold their cars to the locals, who would then refurbish it and continued using it on the road. Some of them used their creativity and restore their cars until they become as good as new. Now, these cars become collectors' items.
Once you get time to check around you may find there are lot's of upgrades you can do to the little "MOGGY" (It's nickname here in the UK) It is an A series engine the same as the Austin Healey sprite which can be swapped over giving you 1275cc also the disc front brakes from the sprite will fit! You have a great little car there, some are even RACED in vintage events for classic saloon cars in the UK
My mother owned a 62 when I was in high school. Had it for years. Almond green with green interior. I hated it when I was young. Now I would love to have one of my own. Try to get it back in original condition if you can.
The wheels are wrong ! Put back the originals ! With proper Morris Minor hub caps ! They are lovely cars ! Very reliable ! Designed by a Greek called Alex Issigonis ! He also designed the mini and the Mini moke !
i got one. in restoration way worse shape than yours. but the engines all done, the carb once you get to know what it wants it starts first time everytime
Take those 'fat feet' of this fabulous car! Not a good look!!! Not original!! I hadtwo of these, a 1959 two door and a 1962 four door. Go any where The British Volkswagen,
Oregon! Looks like a beautiful place!
I had a 55 split screen Minor in the sixties
My dad had several of these, but he mainly had the 'morris traveller' - Half wood, half car.
Great little car for getting around town! Not meant for the freeway! CHEERS from HERE!

I have owned one of these for 10 years. You need to use the clutch when changing gears. Just double de-clutch and do it slowly.
I've had 3. They are classic!

Really enjoyed your video.
You can start it from the front bumper with a hand crank! The licence plate is covering up the hole in the bumper for the hand crank.
And you can get parts from East Sussex Minors shipped to America

Why air filter pipe is connected to engine block?
@@oldsteel6687 I didn't get it. American cars don't have it. Can you please explain it?
Just wandering what are those rims called ie. Make and size
Same here. Wondering how difficult it is to fit mag wheels to a Morris Minor.
what size wheels and tires are on it here?
