This video really resonated with me.How many of us are so busy being ‘too nice’ that we forget to take care of ourselves? Dr. Gabor Maté's insights about trauma, self-suppression, and generational pain are so eye-opening. It made me think about my own life and the ways I might be holding myself back without even realizing it. Have you ever felt like you’re hiding your true self just to keep the peace? Let’s talk about it-I’d love to hear your thoughts. We’re all on this journey of healing and understanding together. Please don’t forget to share this with someone who might need to hear these powerful words. #drgabormaté #traumahealing #selfawareness #mentalhealth #authenticliving
One of my good friends always said " Your to nice ". It has caused much grief pain and suffering. I am not so nice these days, it's better to not engage at all or simply watch as it passes by. The utter exhaustion and battering of mind body soul is not worth it.
I completely understand where you’re coming from. Sometimes stepping back is the best way to protect your peace. It's important to prioritize your well-being!bless you
I have found the application of science has caused me traumatic experiences with my medical care. Time and arrogance seem to be a cause. I will explore my conditions in depth with hope to help the doctor with some insight to me. Nothing gets explored or resolved. I am left hanging and frustrated. I end up with emotional pain and stress. Now, I think I am dealing with CPTSD. I can only hope things can get better for future generations.
I'm so sorry to hear about your experiences. It’s heartbreaking to feel unheard and left without answers, especially when it’s about your health. You’re so strong for continuing to explore your conditions and advocate for yourself, even when it’s hard. I truly hope you find the support and understanding you need. Your story is important, and sharing it may help others, including doctors, realize the impact their care (or lack of it) can have. Sending you lots of strength and hope for healing.
This is all so true! I worked in the medical field for 25 years and was a victim of it as well. Along with varied childhood trauma and adult trauma. I was a preacher’s kid and that’s a whole thing in itself. I have been diagnosed with Achalasia and Grave’s Disease in the past 2 years so I’m not surprised at the connections. Dr. Gabor has taught me a lot about myself!❤
Thank you so much for sharing your story. I’m really sorry to hear about the challenges you’ve faced, but I’m so glad you’ve found Dr. Gabor’s work helpful in understanding yourself better. It sounds like you’ve been through so much, and it’s inspiring to hear how you’re learning and growing from these experiences. Take care of yourself, and I’m wishing you all the best on your journey to healing.
