Great overview! These two synths are interesting. At around $1,400 each, they're not inexpensive, but for many people (myself included) the name "Moog" basically means "Best." It's tough for hardware to compete with software these days, but if you want the best and you want the real thing, these are cheaper options than a full Moog synth. I think they're really cool.
This is excellent marketing. I have all 3 of their compact semi modular synths and I wish their bundles were available a year ago.. with the mixer.. which I hope they sell separately..

Dice game is a smart learning tool to learn what works with what. Daniel only patched across synths, but it looks like there may be another level of depth to the dice game-your input or output can be on either synth, so there are really 72 potential patch combinations instead of 36, if I did the math right.

As a n00b trying to pick a first synth, this is tempting because Moog is the sound that makes me want a synth. But monophonic freaks me out a bit as a keyboardist-I don't know anything but chords! Trying to decide between something like this for the sound I want (but complex and a little daunting, and probably needing an effects module), a Minilogue XD (beginner friendly but maybe a bit limiting), an Argon8 or Cobalt8 (I like the stereo effects but want some analog in my signal path), or a Novation Peak (current top pick, but I am not totally enamored with its stereo sound or look). No response expected, just sharing the difficulty that Moog and Sweetwater has made for me ;-)

It's a real shame that moog haven't seen fit to allow their customers to buy the mixer and the patch cable rack separately 🤨 I have 2 DFAM's a subharmonicon and a mother 32 . All fantastic synth's but really feel let down as I'm sure a lot of people do that moog haven't shown the respect for older customers who have spent a small fortune on their wonderful equipment .
Hi Phinees. You can connect from the Subsequent 25 to the Mother-32, DFAM, and Subharmonicon via Audio. You can also connect the Sub 25 to the Mother-32 and Subharmonicon via MIDI. All three of the Sound Studio modules can also send Control Voltages (CV) to the Sub 25. Lots to do there! -_Daniel_
Some help, please. The Barrel-to-Barrel Power Distribution Cables that go from the mixer to the synthesizer. Mine came with a dead cable. Does anybody know the specs to look for when finding a replacement?
Hi Gautier. I do have an alternative! Believe it or not, I actually use this passive 4-channel mixer in my live stage rig. So the Summing Mixer idea is nice but my immediate concern is the single headphone output instead of a 1/4" line out to like my audio interface. Is this output solution a bit low-fi? I plan to purchase the M32+DFAM soon but wondered if this set with summing mixer is needed or if I have a better quality output option. I am a new to all of this only having the Werkstatt-01, an Arturia Keystep and an audio interface (Steinberg UR22C). Any input is appreciated. 😀
Hi Diego, the 1/4" TRS headphone output is not low-fi. Everything you hear in the video is coming from those headphone outs. You can, of course, send the Mother-32, DFAM, and Subharmonicon directly to an outboard mixer if you wish. -_Daniel_
I emailed moog, nothing will be sold separately (accessory wise) outside of the bundle. Kinda annoying I would like a patch book but they’re not available.

From what I can tell it has one power input that connects to a wall wart and three power pass-thrus that pass power along to any connected DFAMs, Mother-32s, or Subharmonicons.
Why in the hell aren’t the 3 modules together with that extra stuff - Mixer and cables and cable rack ??? So stupid to separate in 2 versions of the same thing - Except for the DFAM !!!!

It's a real shame that moog haven't seen fit to allow their customers to buy the mixer and the patch cable rack separately 🤨 I have 2 DFAM's a subharmonicon and a mother 32 . yes, if you have firmware 2.0 installed. Hold KB and STEP, then press key 1 for forward motion, 2 for reverse, 3 for pendulum or 4 for random steps.
