- Queen Elizabeth II's annual 2nd birthday parade kicked off four days of Platinum Jubilee festivities on June 2, when more than 1,200 officers and soldiers of the 1st Battalion and the Irish Guards put on a display of military pageantry through the streets of London, U.K.
They were joined by hundreds of army musicians and approximately 240 horses.
This livestream featured a variety of shots: Buckingham Palace forecourt, along the Mall, Horse Guards Parade (35:46) and the gun salute at Hyde Park (1:57:59) and a fly past.
2:04:36 Once the parade ended and the procession returned to the palace, the Royal Family made a balcony appearance, as they do every year.
The Queen is the first British monarch to celebrate 70 years of service and will be honoured for the work she’s done for the people of the United Kingdom, the Commonwealth and the Realms.

Watching this magnificent celebration was beyond special, brought tears to my eyes. Seeing the soldiers and the horses so well trained/behaved I couldn’t help but compare the British, our parents, to us here in America; as others commented we could or need to learn some lessons from the British, primarily respect and stop acting like a bunch of two and three year olds. Her Majesty deserves every accolade, every best and good wish, every hat, every piece of jewelry, every firework, every bright sunshiny day, every horse snort and hoof, every clap and cheer, every smile, every pint lifted to toast her incredible reign. Such a sea of people, all there to wish Her Majesty well and thank her. All of the Commonwealth comes together to honor and celebrate Her Majesty’s good and faithful service to England. Trace as much as you can from were you are including city hall , churches etc and try to find were and when they landed , once you have that see if you can trace when and were they left the UK , then try the local council officers, churches and the government birth , death and marriages office, it takes time but can be done

I wondered about the marching steps, all the uniforms and the different music. I’ve never seen anything like it. Maybe there’s some websites dedicated to information like this. Awesome!!
Marching is a way to ceremoniously move your troops from one area to another. We used to have Parades through Towns every where the Services had Freedom of the City. I used to love Marching, makes you feel very proud to be in the Air Force. All the different troops and uniforms are different services, Army, Air Force, Navy - then within the Army there are different Regiments, the Regiments have different uniforms and berets etc. This type of Marching is traditional Trooping of the Colour which happens every year and is usually done by the Queens Guards Regiment, who are real Soldiers and do protect the Queen and the Royal Family. There is also the Changing of the Guard which is a tradition but also a real event where they literally change the men who are on guard. The Ceremonial Marching is much more elaborate than your average March Through Town or Parade Ground Marching that we used to do yearly in ceremonies within our Units/Camps. The Troops who march with Musical Instruments are still real Soldiers initially and volunteer or are assigned to be in these regiments or to be a Marching Band. Thats as far as I know anyway, hope this helps you to understand.

I continue to hold that the trooping of the colour is the most complex, exacting and awe-inspiring military ceremony in the world, and while most, perhaps all Commonwealth armies practice this to some extent, no-one does it on the sort of scale and with the pageantry of the British Army.

Much bigger parade than usual. The Household Cavalry were "concerned" because they were using 70 "new" horses. Ha ha. They mostly behaved themselves very well. Only saw one trooper land bump.
Those of us lucky enough to be alive for this jubilee, hope we all enjoyed this celebration to the maximum for ourselves and for those we lost to the pandemic.
