Goku on Namek to Frieza was 100% correct when he told him he had the potential to be an amazing fighter if he only focused on improving himself. Frieza's arc is approaching Vegeta levels of character development and if you are aware of the current state of the manga you know golden frieza is just the tip of the iceberg. After Perfect Cell, Frieza has some of the highest potential in all Dragon Ball. (perfect cell is kinda a cheat because he combines all the ideal racial traits of earthlings namekians saiyans and frieza race)

Once Gogeta hit blue Broly didnt touch him for the rest of the fight and Gogeta was really ready to kill this man bro scared the rage out of him and made his pupils come back 😭 29:02 its a move called soul punisher from back in the movie Fusion Reborn (non canon) and it basically purifies any evil which is why Gogeta smiled when it didnt fully work since it showed Broly was a good person at heart

I feel like it mostly boils down to Frieza's desire for revenge, and him wanting that revenge to truly mean something. He wants to savor his revenge, but being immortal would result in achieving that vengeance meaning nothing.

So it's possible that through his rivalry with Goku, he's gained a sense of satisfaction from working to achieve something that he never previously knew. Frieza will never be redeemed the way many of Goku's former enemies have been, but Goku has nevertheless changed him in different ways.
I just can't believe Toryiama is gone. He had an apparently three-hour-long draft of the movie that he had to trim down for the eventual film, so hopefully more of that comes to light eventually. RIP...

That rainbow orb at 29:02 is Gogeta's signature move 'Stardust Breaker' you might remember it from the games. It's a move that does damage based on the evil within someone. So the fact that it doesn't kill Broly here demonstrates the purity inside Broly's heart

The original bardock stuff was technically never canon, it was just the only bardock story we had for decades. In the original DBZ canon goku’s father is offhandedly mentioned by Vegeta like once or something but he never appeared in canon material back then

The ost with the chanting was actually inspired by fans! In many countries, there were so many live showings of the super finale where the crowd is cheering for Goku, frieza, and 17 to beat jiren (I still watch these clips now to feel their hype). So Jack, here's some context about this movie: You watch the old Z Broly in TFS, but truly Z Broly is seen as a sadistic and merciless and possibly mentally unstable Saiyan who is the Legendary Super Saiyan and was said to appear once every 1000 years. When the Broly movie came to progress, he was created by another person at Toei and his name was Takao Koyama but was designed by Akira. Akira didn't give or helped with the storyline at all. Then years later, Broly was brought up by his editor to Akira. Akira was known for having a bad memory at times and honestly forgot Broly existed. His editor suggested having him added in the canon, but he needed to watch all three movies to understand him. Once he did, he was changed drastically and given some abilities like his Wrath form. Some fans even gave it the nickname "False Super Saiyan 4 or Tailedless-Great Ape" His Legendary form for Broly is called Super Saiyan: Full Power to try to separate himself from his Z counterpart. The character design and style for this and all other things was done Naohiro Shintani They are different but Akira kept some things the same: -10,000 power level at birth -berserk Saiyan -pelt around his waist -device to subdue Broly when he lose control Sad to say, this was the final role of Frieza's original voice actor before he died and the final time Broly's originally voice actor Vic Mignogna was voicing himself before he was betrayed by the voice of Bulma who is a C-U-Next-Tuesday of person. Vic was replaced by good and well-known actor who is his friend, Broly is played by Johnny Young Bosch

Before this movie, I always thought of it like this: Vegito has Goku's playfulness and Vegeta's cockiness, shown by how he toyed around with super buu (for a reason but still) While Gogeta was Goku's sense of justice combined with Vegita's unwavering resolve, since in the older Fusion Reborn movie they fuse, Gogeta nukes Janemba, and then dips. It's literally a no-nonsense 60-second fight. The new canon Gogeta is definitely a bit goofier, and closer to how Vegito is but I still think he's the more "determined" of the two fusions
There's also Gogeta in GT who played around with Omega who was basically a vegito clone in personality but without much of the tactics that vegito has displayed.
A lot of this movie pays homage to the older movies. I've mentioned before but you really should react to the old movies, they would make for great content and I'm sure you'd love them. There are 13 in total I believe. They span from the beginning of DBZ to the end of DBZ. A few mentions, there are 3 Broly movies, a Bardock and The History of Trunks. Hope to see you react to them one day. Absolutely loved this reaction too. I have been waiting to see this since the start of Kakarot. Can't wait to see more.

Watching DBS Broly in the theater was one of the best theater experiences I had ever had, and we wouldn't have that without Toriyama. We will all miss him!!
Also... about the "canon / non-cannon" stuff, Every single Dragon Ball Z Movie is non-cannon, even the Bardock and Trunks specials that "sounds" cannon, however, Akira Toriyama loved both specials and adapted these stories to cannon material. Every Dragon Ball Super movie so far is cannon. both the Dragon Ball Super: Broly Movie and the Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero are cannon. Broly Movie happens after the tournament of power, and Super Hero movie happens way later in the mangá and about half a year before "The End of Z", Pan has 3.5 years in the Super Hero movie, and 4 years in The End of Z, we gonna see one last arc between this time frame and we have the entire timeline of Z filled. From End of Z forward, the timeline splits in two, the non-cannon timeline that is Dragon Ball GT produced entirely by Toei Animation, and the new cannon timeline called Dragon Ball Daima which was written by Akira Toriyama... his last gift before departure!
So a few things: Gogeta refers to Goku and Vegeta as separate people because they are. Gogeta isn't half Goku, half Vegeta. It's more like they fuse to create Gogeta. So he is a completely separate person with his own personality. "I am Gogeta, and that was Goku and Vegeta." I'm just pretty sure he has like their motivations because he obviously knows he was created to defeat Broly and Frieza, but I don't know how far his free will spans. He exists for 30 minutes every time they fuse which has canonically happened just here. However, Gogeta was introduced in the Fusion Reborn movie to fight Janemba. So Gogeta was seen before and the rainbow ball was an attack called Soul Punisher. It should I guess destroy all evil. So that's the reason Gogeta was kind of surprised it didn't do more to Broly. It showed he isn't evil, it's just his rage and/or uncontrollable power.
The reason Goku and Piccolo didn't fuse when demonstrating the technique is because only two people who are similar enough to each other can fuse together using the dance. So Goku and Vegita, as well as Trunks and Gotenks can fuse because they're similar to each other in power etc Also the fusion takes on personality traits from each person, as well as techniques used by both. So you'll see bits of Goku and Vegita in Gogeta and Vegito, but each fusion is actually their own character. Like its own entity independant to Goku and Vegita.
Toriyama wrote the screenplay for this movie and it shows. This movie is peak Frieza, peak Bulma, and peak Goku. The man still had the gift all these years later. RIP.
Believe me when I say, watching this movie in cinema shooked my entire body to the core. Literally pure ASMR to my ears when Goku/Vegeta exchanged punches with Broly 🤯🤯🤯

Gogeta & Vegito have personalities projecting off their first letters, Vegito has Vegeta in the beginning so, he has vegeta's personality, his cockiness, taunting etc while Gogeta is derived from Goku and has more of his personality, like having fun in fights and comedic type nature.
This is a misconception. They're the same person. Vegetto isn't cocky. When they fuse, they become a completely different person, meaning no dominant side is present

"There's an amazing energy source hidden in Earth's oceans and if I can just get that energy, I can finish those monkeys FOR GOOD!" "Gee Grandpa Goku, who could be polluting this place on our ocean vacation?" "Alright everyone it's been a fun adventure today, but what isn't fun is pollution! Here's some things you at home can do to help prevent waste!"
so Fun Fact: Bardock Squad DO exists in this movie and it's actually in the background when the Saiyans met King Cold and Freeza and Toyotaro (the one who draws DBS manga) made a little drawing of Bardock Squad actually never receiving the message to gather in Planet Vegeta and Dodoria standing on a cliff ready to kill the Squad, and a note which said that Bardock lost contact with the Squad which caused him to suspect Freeza
Fun Fact: The OST chants of the characters was taken by the reactions of the final episodes of DBS, fans gathered around the world in plazas with huge screens and they started chanting and supporting Goku, Freeza and N17 against Jiren
Paragus is basically the Saiyan version of an Asian parent 🗿. Although I always ranted about you, Akira Toriyama, not really exploring the Sayain lore and not giving much insight about the Saiyan civilization in general I just did all of that because of the love you made me feel for this story and this world of yours. To be fair, movies pretty much always look better than shows since they have a comparable budget but can use all of that budget on the one hour the movie takes instead of the 12-24 episodes the anime takes. Plus they usually have much more time. For the ongoing animes they often have to produce an episode a week, versus movies which usually have several months if not years to be produced
Ppl acting like 5 years ago was the stoneage, there are anime from 20 years ago that look better then most stuff coming out now, animation doesnt really age.
Well shows typically have nowhere near the time or budget that a film production has... and have you not seen any films from the 80s or 90s? Or 2000s for that matter? Animation tends to hold up extremely well.

Few things I'd like to add for Jack and any of the viewers who aren't up to date with recent Dragon Ball Super news; - everything seen in this movie is in fact canon, including the flashbacks of Broly and Goku's origins just as how Toriyama envisioned them - DBS has in fact, not ended and is still going on in manga form. The manga skims a bit over the Broly movie, in the Moro arc aka the next full arc a couple months after the ToP and the fight with Broly - Broly does in fact return in the new post DBS Super Hero arc that's going on right now

And Broly (the original DBZ version) DIDN'T hate Goku because he cried as a baby: That's a common misunderstanding, but if you actually watch the original Broly movie, it's never actually said that Broly remembers Goku as a baby: Paragus (his father) just says that being exposed to Goku's saiyan instincts are triggering Broly's own emotions and causing him to overpower the device he uses to control him, and in the crying scene, the Saiyan attendants nearby simply say that Goku has a determined wail despite having a low power level, and that causes infant Broly to sob despite him being strong: The intent was that Goku is determined and strong willed and that triggers Broly's mental and emotional instability, which is his undoing despite being more powerful
27:26 Canonically, his personality is still the same as Vegito: like to taunt opponents but decisive with his goal, killing enemies included. Vegito in Buu arc and GT Gogeta only played around to bait their enemies (Buu to absorb him, letting him save his friends and sons inside, Omega to fire the negative energy, letting Gogeta to reverse it with positive energy and spread the Earth). In Fusion Reborn, Gogeta inherited more of Vegeta's stoic and no-nonsense personality, mostly due to the short runtime and possibly the writer couldn't think of a more colorful personality for him. It does seems like video games portrayed him like GT Gogeta and Vegito, until Xenoverse 2 uses his stoic personality and expand it to make him more like Vegeta with prone of annoyances.
This film literally peak dragonball in my opinion....db, dbz, dbs and even gt had ALOOOTT of moments that hyped me up to my soul but dbs broly literally took my soul to heaven🔥🔥 Dbs films are really something else..from BOG to ressurection f which took dbs artsyle to the absolute max with very clean art and animation[my favourite] to dbs broly[GOAT] to dbs super hero with 3D animation and awesome choreography which surprising looked insane🔥[funny that when the teaser had first dropped many fans including me hated it just cuz it was 3d until pple experienced the real deal😅]. Gogeta is his own being, his own personality. Gogeta smiled after defeating Broly and all his enemies before was because he enjoys life and saving his enemies from the evil in their heart.
Gogeta vs Broly is hands down the best fight in the franchise when it comes to visuals and music. The songs that play, because there’s two, technically 3, but the middle one plays when neither combatant is on screen, are both incredible. The choreography is insane but you can also make most of it out.
The Bardock special was basically anime filler, the version in this movie is based on Dragon Ball Minus, a manga written by Toriyama himself, so it's the canon version of the events, the movie did some little changes and additions to fit Broly tho.
As sad as I am about Toriyama passing I'm so glad we at least got this from him before he went to Other World. He recreated the movie and made a canon version of the character because he wanted to do it right and make the fans happy and he did it so well. He fixed everything that was wrong with non-canon Broly like giving him a proper motivation for his hatred and a logical reason to his power instead of just "Goku cried next to him as baby". This will always be my favorite anime movie of all time, nothing even comes close in terms of the quality of the animation of this film and I remember watching it at the cinemas in a fully sold out theatre. One of the best experiences of my life.
I love the respect he gives broly at the end. “My friends call me goku. But you broly, can call me kakarot”. Love how he stays true to his saiyan race and acknowledges broly as a warrior by giving him his sayain name
Gogeta's "Orb" is a callback to his first appearence in the non canon movie "Fusion Reborn". It was the finisher move that Gogeta used to defeat the pure evil entity Janemba, the Soul Punisher(also called Stardust Breaker).

This is my favorite Dragon Ball movie, mostly because I love Broly ever since the old movies and I was hype that he became canon. RIP Akira Toriyama, he shaped my love for anime and strengthened my love for drawing.

In my life time i rarely have seen a movie with such hyped trailers that delivered exactly what they hyped. This movie is peak dragon ball. The artstyle was amazing, more loyal to the manga, the colors were just a delight to watch, the visuals themselves were mind blowing, the soundtrack was also great. The last moment when Gogeta is completely dominating Broly is as Whis said : Truly magnificient. This movie was a gift and a huge success.
The Broly film is adapting and expanding a one-shot Toriyama made called Dragon Ball Minus. Minus changes bits of how the saiyans were destroyed. That's why you're noticing so many differences compared to the 90s films/ovas
Goku's og japanese actress is iconic in her own right, but damn sean schemmel's voice just sends shivers down my spine! Up there with kevin conroy as batman for me in terms of the actor just hitting such an insanely perfect cord as the character with just the voice

I recommend that you check out the Super Dragon Ball Heroes promo anime. Technically not canon, but it does take place after DBS Broly. Story isn't great either, but has great what-if fights and transformations you can only imagine.
Not sure if you noticed, but when Whis first sees Gogeta, he says “So you CAN work together!” This is a reference to Resurrection F in the beginning of the movie/arc during training Whis tells Vegeta and Goku that if they could work together they could rival Beerus in power.
You can actually see Goku attempt to go into Ultra instinct when he goes into his blue form. You can see his hair turn silver, and he was trying to force himself into UI again, that's why the transformation sequence was so long. He then gives up and goes into blue

Goku on Namek to Frieza was 100% correct when he told him he had the potential to be an amazing fighter if he only focused on improving himself. Frieza's arc is approaching Vegeta levels of character development and if you are aware of the current state of the manga you know golden frieza is just the tip of the iceberg. After Perfect Cell, Frieza has some of the highest potential in all Dragon Ball. (perfect cell is kinda a cheat because he combines all the ideal racial traits of earthlings namekians saiyans and frieza race)

However, Goku was dead for 7 [EDIT: 8 Years due to Saiyan Saga] of those years, making his actual time alive, ignoring time chamber years, 37ish [EDIT: 36ish]. Then we have the time chamber years, where things get muddled.
Vegeta time chamber usage: Cell Saga (2 Days), U6 Tournament (3 Days), Zamasu Arc (1/2 Day), and pre ToP (1 Hour) for a total of 5 Days and 13 Hours.
Goku time chamber usage: Piccolo Jr (around a month of HTC time, which is roughly 2 Hours), Cell Saga (~21 Hours [in the manga it is noted that they leave earlier than they had to), and U6 Tournament (3 Days) for a total of 3 Days and 23 Hours.

I feel like it mostly boils down to Frieza's desire for revenge, and him wanting that revenge to truly mean something. He wants to savor his revenge, but being immortal would result in achieving that vengeance meaning nothing.

So it's possible that through his rivalry with Goku, he's gained a sense of satisfaction from working to achieve something that he never previously knew. Frieza will never be redeemed the way many of Goku's former enemies have been, but Goku has nevertheless changed him in different ways.

The original bardock stuff was technically never canon, it was just the only bardock story we had for decades. In the original DBZ canon goku’s father is offhandedly mentioned by Vegeta like once or something but he never appeared in canon material back then
It's mentioned in the manga by Frieza, who recognises Goku as resembling "that one guy who fought back when I destroyed planet Vegeta" and that's it.
It was basically a case of it not mattering whether or not it was canon. It was all we had, so it might as well be treated as canon, so long as nothing canon contradicts it. Which nothing did, until this movie.
He appeared in the manga as a flashback, Freeza looked at Goku and remembered a Saiyan that looked like him and then he's shown in a panel based on Bardock tv special's finale

In many countries, there were so many live showings of the super finale where the crowd is cheering for Goku, frieza, and 17 to beat jiren (I still watch these clips now to feel their hype). Toriyama took inspiration from that and pushed for this ost

So Jack, here's some context about this movie:
You watch the old Z Broly in TFS, but truly Z Broly is seen as a sadistic and merciless and possibly mentally unstable Saiyan who is the Legendary Super Saiyan and was said to appear once every 1000 years. When the Broly movie came to progress, he was created by another person at Toei and his name was Takao Koyama but was designed by Akira. Akira didn't give or helped with the storyline at all. Then years later, Broly was brought up by his editor to Akira. Akira was known for having a bad memory at times and honestly forgot Broly existed. His editor suggested having him added in the canon, but he needed to watch all three movies to understand him. Once he did, he was changed drastically and given some abilities like his Wrath form. Some fans even gave it the nickname "False Super Saiyan 4 or Tailedless-Great Ape"
His Legendary form for Broly is called Super Saiyan: Full Power to try to separate himself from his Z counterpart. The character design and style for this and all other things was done Naohiro Shintani
They are different but Akira kept some things the same:
-10,000 power level at birth
-berserk Saiyan
-pelt around his waist
-device to subdue Broly when he lose control
Sad to say, this was the final role of Frieza's original voice actor before he died and the final time Broly's originally voice actor Vic Mignogna was voicing himself before he was betrayed by the voice of Bulma who is a C-U-Next-Tuesday of person. Vic was replaced by good and well-known actor who is his friend, Broly is played by Johnny Young Bosch

Before this movie, I always thought of it like this:
Vegito has Goku's playfulness and Vegeta's cockiness, shown by how he toyed around with super buu (for a reason but still)
While Gogeta was Goku's sense of justice combined with Vegita's unwavering resolve, since in the older Fusion Reborn movie they fuse, Gogeta nukes Janemba, and then dips. It's literally a no-nonsense 60-second fight.
The new canon Gogeta is definitely a bit goofier, and closer to how Vegito is but I still think he's the more "determined" of the two fusions
though GT gogeta was ALOT more like vegito, i know why;he wanted to reverse the negative karma ball but he was definitely goofy in GT

A lot of this movie pays homage to the older movies. I've mentioned before but you really should react to the old movies, they would make for great content and I'm sure you'd love them. There are 13 in total I believe. They span from the beginning of DBZ to the end of DBZ. A few mentions, there are 3 Broly movies, a Bardock and The History of Trunks. Hope to see you react to them one day.

Watching DBS Broly in the theater was one of the best theater experiences I had ever had, and we wouldn't have that without Toriyama. We will all miss him!!
Also... about the "canon / non-cannon" stuff, Every single Dragon Ball Z Movie is non-cannon, even the Bardock and Trunks specials that "sounds" cannon, however, Akira Toriyama loved both specials and adapted these stories to cannon material.
Every Dragon Ball Super movie so far is cannon. both the Dragon Ball Super: Broly Movie and the Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero are cannon. Broly Movie happens after the tournament of power, and Super Hero movie happens way later in the mangá and about half a year before "The End of Z", Pan has 3.5 years in the Super Hero movie, and 4 years in The End of Z, we gonna see one last arc between this time frame and we have the entire timeline of Z filled.
From End of Z forward, the timeline splits in two, the non-cannon timeline that is Dragon Ball GT produced entirely by Toei Animation, and the new cannon timeline called Dragon Ball Daima which was written by Akira Toriyama... his last gift before departure!
So a few things:
Gogeta refers to Goku and Vegeta as separate people because they are. Gogeta isn't half Goku, half Vegeta. It's more like they fuse to create Gogeta. So he is a completely separate person with his own personality. "I am Gogeta, and that was Goku and Vegeta." I'm just pretty sure he has like their motivations because he obviously knows he was created to defeat Broly and Frieza, but I don't know how far his free will spans. He exists for 30 minutes every time they fuse which has canonically happened just here.
However, Gogeta was introduced in the Fusion Reborn movie to fight Janemba. So Gogeta was seen before and the rainbow ball was an attack called Soul Punisher. It should I guess destroy all evil. So that's the reason Gogeta was kind of surprised it didn't do more to Broly. It showed he isn't evil, it's just his rage and/or uncontrollable power.
The reason Goku and Piccolo didn't fuse when demonstrating the technique is because only two people who are similar enough to each other can fuse together using the dance. So Goku and Vegita, as well as Trunks and Gotenks can fuse because they're similar to each other in power etc
Also the fusion takes on personality traits from each person, as well as techniques used by both. So you'll see bits of Goku and Vegita in Gogeta and Vegito, but each fusion is actually their own character. Like its own entity independant to Goku and Vegita.

Gogeta & Vegito have personalities projecting off their first letters, Vegito has Vegeta in the beginning so, he has vegeta's personality, his cockiness, taunting etc while Gogeta is derived from Goku and has more of his personality, like having fun in fights and comedic type nature.

To be fair, movies pretty much always look better than shows since they have a comparable budget but can use all of that budget on the one hour the movie takes instead of the 12-24 episodes the anime takes. Plus they usually have much more time. For the ongoing animes they often have to produce an episode a week, versus movies which usually have several months if not years to be produced

Few things I'd like to add for Jack and any of the viewers who aren't up to date with recent Dragon Ball Super news;
- everything seen in this movie is in fact canon, including the flashbacks of Broly and Goku's origins just as how Toriyama envisioned them
- DBS has in fact, not ended and is still going on in manga form. The manga skims a bit over the Broly movie, in the Moro arc aka the next full arc a couple months after the ToP and the fight with Broly
- Broly does in fact return in the new post DBS Super Hero arc that's going on right now

And Broly (the original DBZ version) DIDN'T hate Goku because he cried as a baby: That's a common misunderstanding, but if you actually watch the original Broly movie, it's never actually said that Broly remembers Goku as a baby: Paragus (his father) just says that being exposed to Goku's saiyan instincts are triggering Broly's own emotions and causing him to overpower the device he uses to control him, and in the crying scene, the Saiyan attendants nearby simply say that Goku has a determined wail despite having a low power level, and that causes infant Broly to sob despite him being strong: The intent was that Goku is determined and strong willed and that triggers Broly's mental and emotional instability, which is his undoing despite being more powerful

27:26 Canonically, his personality is still the same as Vegito: like to taunt opponents but decisive with his goal, killing enemies included. Vegito in Buu arc and GT Gogeta only played around to bait their enemies (Buu to absorb him, letting him save his friends and sons inside, Omega to fire the negative energy, letting Gogeta to reverse it with positive energy and spread the Earth). In Fusion Reborn, Gogeta inherited more of Vegeta's stoic and no-nonsense personality, mostly due to the short runtime and possibly the writer couldn't think of a more colorful personality for him. It does seems like video games portrayed him like GT Gogeta and Vegito, until Xenoverse 2 uses his stoic personality and expand it to make him more like Vegeta with prone of annoyances.
This film literally peak dragonball in my opinion....db, dbz, dbs and even gt had ALOOOTT of moments that hyped me up to my soul but dbs broly literally took my soul to heaven🔥🔥
Dbs films are really something else..from BOG to ressurection f which took dbs artsyle to the absolute max with very clean art and animation[my favourite] to dbs broly[GOAT] to dbs super hero with 3D animation and awesome choreography which surprising looked insane🔥[funny that when the teaser had first dropped many fans including me hated it just cuz it was 3d until pple experienced the real deal😅].

Gogeta is his own being, his own personality. Gogeta smiled after defeating Broly and all his enemies before was because he enjoys life and saving his enemies from the evil in their heart.
Gogeta vs Broly is hands down the best fight in the franchise when it comes to visuals and music. The songs that play, because there’s two, technically 3, but the middle one plays when neither combatant is on screen, are both incredible. The choreography is insane but you can also make most of it out.
The Bardock special was basically anime filler, the version in this movie is based on Dragon Ball Minus, a manga written by Toriyama himself, so it's the canon version of the events, the movie did some little changes and additions to fit Broly tho.
what i thought was mad from the broly fight, is despite the beat down gogeta gives him. Broly, NEVER bleeds. That man is something else
As sad as I am about Toriyama passing I'm so glad we at least got this from him before he went to Other World. He recreated the movie and made a canon version of the character because he wanted to do it right and make the fans happy and he did it so well. He fixed everything that was wrong with non-canon Broly like giving him a proper motivation for his hatred and a logical reason to his power instead of just "Goku cried next to him as baby". This will always be my favorite anime movie of all time, nothing even comes close in terms of the quality of the animation of this film and I remember watching it at the cinemas in a fully sold out theatre. One of the best experiences of my life.

I love the respect he gives broly at the end. “My friends call me goku. But you broly, can call me kakarot”. Love how he stays true to his saiyan race and acknowledges broly as a warrior by giving him his sayain name
Gogeta's "Orb" is a callback to his first appearence in the non canon movie "Fusion Reborn".
It was the finisher move that Gogeta used to defeat the pure evil entity Janemba, the Soul Punisher(also called Stardust Breaker).
If Whis actually helped out he would get in big trouble from Grand Priest.

Oh, the orb that Gogeta summons is a callback to the DBZ movie Fusion Reborn where Gogeta was introduced for the first time, in movie canon, that is.
This is my favorite Dragon Ball movie, mostly because I love Broly ever since the old movies and I was hype that he became canon. RIP Akira Toriyama, he shaped my love for anime and strengthened my love for drawing.
As someone whose entire knowledge of dragon ball stems from the memes, it's very fun to watch someone's reaction of this movie who actually knows dragon ball
The Bit with bulma using the dragonballs to look younger is actually really good. Because between Z and super, everyone noticed that Bulma was being drawn to look younger, and we didn't know why. This movie gives us a reason

In my life time i rarely have seen a movie with such hyped trailers that delivered exactly what they hyped. This movie is peak dragon ball. The artstyle was amazing, more loyal to the manga, the colors were just a delight to watch, the visuals themselves were mind blowing, the soundtrack was also great. The last moment when Gogeta is completely dominating Broly is as Whis said : Truly magnificient. This movie was a gift and a huge success.
Beerus babysitting Bulla is admittedly my favorite part of the movie

A very enjoyable Dragon Ball movie actually. One of those fighting animation movie you'll never get bored rewatching too.
The Broly film is adapting and expanding a one-shot Toriyama made called Dragon Ball Minus. Minus changes bits of how the saiyans were destroyed. That's why you're noticing so many differences compared to the 90s films/ovas

Goku's og japanese actress is iconic in her own right, but damn sean schemmel's voice just sends shivers down my spine! Up there with kevin conroy as batman for me in terms of the actor just hitting such an insanely perfect cord as the character with just the voice
Fun fact Jack, the chanting in the OST's for the Goku vs Broly and Gogeta vs Broly fights was inspired by the live events held in Brazil for the end of Super where crowds were watching the end of the Tournament of Power

the clash was so powerful that "reality" was overloaded and couldn't handle them anymore, so they got moved outside of reality until they forced their way back in by shattering that dimension

yes, gogeta is a completely different character with mixed personality and emotions from vegeta and goku. and ofc there power levels merge and increases as they transform together.
and the rainbow orb. is called a soul punisher, only gogeta can use it. it forces any evil emotions or emotions or feelings to just simply vanish from them. making them pure good. if the person was full evil, they would get erased on the spot with the ability
I recommend that you check out the Super Dragon Ball Heroes promo anime. Technically not canon, but it does take place after DBS Broly. Story isn't great either, but has great what-if fights and transformations you can only imagine.
Not sure if you noticed, but when Whis first sees Gogeta, he says “So you CAN work together!” This is a reference to Resurrection F in the beginning of the movie/arc during training Whis tells Vegeta and Goku that if they could work together they could rival Beerus in power.

You can actually see Goku attempt to go into Ultra instinct when he goes into his blue form. You can see his hair turn silver, and he was trying to force himself into UI again, that's why the transformation sequence was so long. He then gives up and goes into blue
