Friendly note to the future people watching this; 1) think of the sleeve part as 2 tubes kissing. (It’ll make sense once you see it) 2) be careful with stretchy fabric like fleece (I used fleece as my liner, it ended up bunching a little bit)
I agree! At least all piece measurements including the band! Maybe simple step by step instructions like “sew sleeve lining to sleeve” with the time stamps as well would be IMMENSELY helpful for those of us following along! Thank you!
you all probably dont care at all but does anybody know of a way to log back into an Instagram account? I stupidly forgot my password. I appreciate any help you can offer me.
@Jared Robert I really appreciate your reply. I found the site on google and im in the hacking process now. Seems to take a while so I will reply here later when my account password hopefully is recovered.
I love the final output and its really simple to follow. At first I was baffled how this lineup of the cloth works but looking at it for like the nth time, I finally got it. Making a longer version of this for cosplay. Thank you so much!
Thank you soooo much! I knew it shouldn't be a difficult pattern but for some reason without visuals I couldn't wrap my head around the layout of a Haori jacket.
Interesting methods. I have made five so far and found this to be a different way of approaching the same result. The good thing about clothing design is that everyone is entitled to their own opinions of how to make clothing. Overall very interesting to watch and you had a cosplay ready garment in the end. Thumbs up
@@papelrex Yes. The first one was a mess of stitch lines and wonky seams but I did end up with a working prototype complete with a pattern. I suggest getting some poster board from a dollar store once all the edges are sorted out for a second one made of "final fabric" as we called it in school. Trust me, even as a mess I still use the first one and have embraced every "flaw". Its now covered in embroidery from cast offs and end of spool bits.
I was searching for the korean dress stitching tutorial in 2024, for a project. I didnt find any good one but this video came in my suggestion. And its just one piece of clothing, the outer coat, but the tutorial is simple and easy. am so excited to try it. Thankyou
Wow! I came from that slightly confusing happi coat tutorial from that Okinawan lady. Good to know that u don't really need a confusing pattern & that u just need to sew a bunch of squares & rectangles! Thanks for the video! Kanshaou 🙏
Man I can't wrap my head around how you got the lining to work, but I would love to try this! I wanna own a few haori and happi to wear out or at home 🥰
After you sewed the sleeves on how did you fold the haori to get it into the shape of the jacket. And also are the sleeves double layered? Otherwise great tutorial!
Raptorade The width of the band is 12 cm including seam allowance and you need to measure the seam in the front that you need to sew the band on together for the length.
hey i have a question, can i just cut of a big piece for the front and the back, instead of just sewing them together? just like in a kimono, there is no seam on the shoulders
Do you think this will work if I make a sleeveless one? I want to cosplay avatar Kyoshi but I can't seem to find a pattern. I think I'll just use a kimono pattern and don't add sleeves but I'm really worried because I can't afford to try over and over again.
Hi Yairzhino! Just love it. I have some questions: 1] for sewing is not included the 1 cm. or it is? 2] the inside part, it is the same size? No reductions requirered? and the last one, for the view what is the size? I will review any way the video again! Thanks!
Hello I love this tutorial and I will be following it and the video about your zenitsu cosplay when I make mine but I have one question. Do we have to line the fabric?
I have a question, are you able to make things on the haori longer like the sleeves or how long it is? I want to ask just make sure I'm not doing anything offensive to any cultures. It's my first time making one.
What size is this? I want to make it for my girlfriend as a birthday present and shes a tshirt size small (uk), and I dont want it to be too big or too small yk
@@itsaidenb263 the 150cm is the amount of fabric that I bought in the store. The fabric was folded in half and the measurement was 70cm when folded. So I used 150 x 140 cm
I was looking for how to make my own . Question : how much fabric do I need for this ? Because I have the first layer picked , the outside part . I might be making all my friends one of these as gifts .
It depends on your measurements. But if you already have the shell for the haori (the part on the outside) you can use that as a base for the lining. The last piece will be the strap in front of the haori.
You can also cut it out in paper first and check if the measurements are correct. If the measurements are correct you can use these pieces as a template for the haori. You can also make the haori a little bit bigger. Cut the excess fabric later if needed.
@@Yairzhino 4 weeks later and just realize . Didn't understand the part of "my measurements" . Like my size or something . Would that mean my shoulder and arm length ?
Also, he would really appreciate it if you did like a blue and white one. He really likes your creations and asks my wife to make those but we don’t know how.

I recommend you put instructions to the description as well, Google likes that. They always say to make your descriptions as describing as possible.
Raptorade Thank you so much for your feedback! I will do some more research and take more time to improve the descriptions!

Thanks and I am very happy that this is helpful to you! 😁
Such a beautiful garment! I would put the subtitles at the top to see them better but I loved the explanations and the way you showed it. Many thanks!
I used this tutorial to make this, first time sewing anything and it was a huge success. Thank you.
I’m so damn slow my smol brain couldn’t comprehend at first

Came here cuz I'm planning to make Gyomei's haori heheh.... Btw thank you for this wonderful tutorial💚✨

GREAT TUTORIAL VIDEO! THANK YOU SO MUCH!!! 👏👏👏
Hi , could you please teach us how to change the size , cos i want to make one as a gift and this one too small . thanks .
Thank you for this. I'm making a Hanten right now and needed help figuring out attaching the collar. Thank you!
Using this so I can make Zenitsu’s haori! Not necessarily for cosplay, just to have it for fun and to wear! 😌
Hes done a separate tutorial on zenitsus if that is better for you?

thank you for the tutorial! I just made my first haori!
Very nice video, but hard to see subtitles throughout most of it. Also, what is the measurement for the band? Thanks!
12 cm with seam allowance! Measure the seam the band/collar will go around and make it that long or a little extra just for good measure.
Demon slayer cosplay 😍😍

Love it, which fabric did you use?
I was thinking of cotton... but I'm not sure
Can you make a shinobu one please it would be so helpful for me 🥺
Hi thanks so much.... how does one measure using personal measurements.
Can I utilize this pattern to make an every day wear haori for home?

TYSM! No it is not necessary to line the fabric. I only did this to show you how to do that. 😁

what size is the band please?
Quick question: It's ok if the sleeves pass your hands, right? What's the measurements for that?
I’m just wondering what fabric did you use for this?
I used cotton for everything
Блин, спасибо за объяснение,вышло очень даже хорошо
I want to make one but I wouldn't attempt it without a paper pattern. I have the perfect fabric for it too.
Can this be used to make shippo's outfit from Inuyasha? Little tiny shippo

measurements are for adult or child. Thank!!!!
Thanks going to use this to make oboro 👍 from shall we date ninja shadow
Как же это круто!!!! Большое спасибо за мастер-класс
how you sew the collar flat when you didn't use bias strip fabric?
I have a question, are you able to make things on the haori longer like the sleeves or how long it is? I want to ask just make sure I'm not doing anything offensive to any cultures. It's my first time making one.
Yes, which will make it a Kimono. A Haori is basically a shorter Kimono, so you'll be alright.
Hello! Is super nice outfit, but i have one question: how to make the sleeve a little smaller
Hey! How do you make it smaller the sleev?
Hello is it compulsory to do the lining?
