    My friend asked me to make him a Haori, and I told him I wouldn't unless I found a good pattern/video. This is the video I'll be using when I make it! Thank you very much for posting this!

    This was super helpful! It took me forever to find a tutorial for this type of haori I wanted to make so this was such a luck find. I’ve never sewn anything before lol but your tutorial was super simple and easy to follow, and my haori turned out perfect! You’re so talented, thank you so much!

    Hey is it possible that you do a mini series on basic sewing techniques, I am a beginner and I want to learn how to get a better finish on my garments. Is it possible that you can help?

    • @afifahh5935
      @afifahh5935 7 лет назад +15

      Amnah Alawadh i think if you're learning garment construction, Aya's videos are helpful and you can actually learn all the basic skills if you go binge watch her videos .
      But, if you're looking for specific techniques, id recommend this channel: Made to Sew

    How do you do the hems (the first)?
    Why dou you do a second hems for the sleeves?

    I love this video my only question is can a haori be colorful with all kinds of colors like pinks, purples,blues, etc, I see lot of neutral colored haori's is that traditional ? mostly asking out of curiousity for the culture itself.

    Hi! Thank you for the tutorial! I am making one in a heavier fabric for winter - i sewed one sleeve and the bottom part is very thick and doesn’t lie nicely because of the doubled up seams - what are the purpose of them? Are they needed?

    Nice video but i've got a question. I've heard somewhere that there are two versions of haori. One for men and one for women. I don't know if that's true. To me they look the same for everyone. but i have to ask. Is the one you show in the video for men, women or universal ?

    • @MrCarmenator8
      @MrCarmenator8 7 лет назад +2

      You make a great point, there is a difference, in length and width dimensions to fit all kinds of men and women. And obviously the design and accent art will be different between men and women. My issue is i cannot find dimensions for a men's haori online. Ive looked everywhere. Theyre keeping the secrets to this wonderful jacket all to themselves lol.

    • @hello1735
      @hello1735 7 лет назад +2

      I don't know if it helps but I just found a similar version called "Noragi jacket," which is similar to the Haori, and it seems like it fits better the men than women

    • @MrCarmenator8
      @MrCarmenator8 7 лет назад +1

      yeah thats pretty similar, thanks! also another male jacket that is similar is called a "hapi" which has a thinner arm sleeve compared to a normal Haori. so i have a few options to reference, thanks!

      That's not what she was going for here but in her yukata video she shows how. You have to put interfacing into the collar strip. Get the iron on kind. Also is used on the obi.

    By zigzag stitching, are you meant overlooking?

    • @princessjello
      @princessjello 7 лет назад +1

      It's the same function- to finish the edges. If you have a serger, by all means do so, but not everyone has one so a zigzag stitch is recc'd.
