Thanks so much... Our family went there several times in the '70's before it shut down. They had an arcade where you could get cards of '50's & '60's movie stars. Also, enjoyed the bumper cars. Our Mom & Dad always found the best places. [It was great to see the religious sisters in the video sharing in the fun].
I worked there summers from 1969 through 1972. Operated the Whip, Dodge-em cars, Olympic Bobs and kiddie rides. Sold ice cream cones and cotton candy, operated the games, Though the home movies were taken before my time working there, I am grateful to view them and be reminded of the summers during my college years. Thanks!
I remember going there.
This is awesome. We were just talking about Dandilion Park at dinner with this past Sunday. Some of my best memories as a child revolve going to this park. Small but it was big and fun when you are 10. Took a while to get the nerve to ride the tail spin!!! I have a dislike for Ferris Wheels to this day because my friends thought it was funny to rock the seat.
Sure would be nice if life was still this simple...48 now. Thanks for posting this.
Sure do remember this place!
Love this!
I went to the park back in the 70's and it was such fun and so small town and just unique. So sad to see it go, just like Riverview Park.
Wild Mouse is visible at 3:45 in lower left corner. When I was a preteen my parents would not allow me to go on, but did when I was a teenager.
I remember this park when I was a Kid.
this was great. thank you. i think it was the last time i ever rode the bumper cars.... ;(
at the end of every school year this is where they had their last field trip.....i believe 3rd grade was the time then they shut dandelion park down...st.hedwigs elementary school. milw,wi class of 1978
My dad ride some rides at this park.
When smoking was still Cool
No tats
Only girls ears were pierced
This place was better in many ways than 6 flags Gerney
Short lines
Plenty of snacks and drinks
At reasonable prices
Good times really enjoyed as a young kid.
What year was this video taken? Great memories.
I was there in July 1974 when a boy fell from the ferris wheel and died. He bounced off the pavement just like a basketball and landed about 15 feet from me. The parents were foolish for not suing.
actually it was 6th grade was the last year.....grea emories
sweet! thx for sharing. just like i 'member...except maybe less nuns. :) thx for producing/sharing. was this b4 the Wild Mouse? big yellow slides & gunnysacks also stick in my mind. yrs after it closed, 2 kids got thru the fence & burned down the ofc. turned out it was 1 of the 1st schoolhouses & i was working for a tv repair biz guy who also ran the muskego historical society so a friend & i ended up in the hose-soaked bldg w/firemen on the roof. came home, brand new white nikes soot black! :(
Xcellent, thanks for the memories :) What is the name of the song used in this?
I witnessed the fatal ferris wheel accident in 1974. Very sad. The boy bounced off the pavement just like a basketball. He landed about 15 feet from me. He was twitching and flopping around for about 5 minutes before help arrived. His parents were very foolish for not suing. The poor son of a bitch died in vain.
My Mom puked on the Wild Mouse. Last ride she ever went on. lol
could you put this video up again without the music ?
Did you know that you can mute the volume on your device when watching youtube videos?
why'd they get rid of this place anyway
housing developments came
WHY THE HORRIBLE MUSIC ?
good question!
I agree
