Powerwolf's first ever North American tour coming up in Feb 2023. NYC and Montreal sold out. They added a third date in Mass. Hopefully, they'll add more.
Hope they make it somewhere near me. Would be a great way to start the year.
I thought you'd dig 'em. In my opinion that particular song is more pop rock-ish, so if you continue down the rabbit hole you'll find they can perform some good power metal as well. Great analysis as usual Mr. Clark. Well wishes to you and yours.

There are actually 2 versions. Alissa also did an accoustic/ clean version of the song that is really interesting

You need to check out what kind of band founder of Kiss fun club of Finland wanted to see on stage. That kind of band he is leading now.

Powerwolf is a great band with great stage present. Resurrection by Erection is a fun song to check out. The band themself is heavily inspired by religious stories.
If you want to try something different you should check out the band Myrath. Their a progressive band from Tunisia that has a middle eastern style of music mixed into their metal making a sound most other bands couldn't pull off. Believer live in Carthage is good place to start.
Since nobody said it yet, they are playing without a bassist. Apparently its because they like the vibe as they are, so they record the base beforehand and use the backing track. I concurred the tracks suggested from them.

I Drink Your Blood is another very good song.
Never heard of Power Wolf before. Not sure about the message of the song, whether I should take it at face value or if it is symbolic only. It was a little too repetitive for me. I do really like their stage makeup.
When you replace demons with men, the lyrics will make alot more sense.
So the overarching theme is creatures of the night (werewolves vampires and such) and their want to not be what their nature defines them as. Lots of religious symbolism involved
This is a good song but not their best, more of a poppy and cheesy poke at ballads. For Powerwolf metal, try Return of the Wolf King, Christ and Combat, Lupus Dei (sung in Latin). Good reaction.
