  • I was stopped by Filipino Police at a Festival in Agusan Del Sur Mindanao, but it wasn't what you are thinking...
They recognized me and were hoping I could give them my 50 peso sunglasses!? VERY COOL!
In this video you will see the Fighter Boys continue our adventure to the Province of Agusan Del Sur where we decided to check out something called "Naliyagan Festival". This Filipino Festival had an amazing set up right in the Provincial Capital! There was a lot going on, and you will see Bret Maverick and I exploring some of the local cultural houses in this first video.
    Festivals in Mindanao... AWESOME!
    Police in Mindanao... AWESOME TOO!
HERE ARE THE VLOGGERS I WAS WITH:
    FINN SNOW - / finnur12345
    DANIEL MARSH - www.youtube.co....
    MIKE COREY - / mikecorey
    BRET MAVERICK - / 27bretzki

Bet you that police captain (He's a senior inspector based on the rank insignia on his uniform) will start wearing those shades and start telling the girls, "My 'friend' Kulas gave this to me. Oh you don't know him? He's very popular on RUclips and on TV. We're best buddies." Hehehehehe... Niliyagan has gone a long way, and so has Prosperidad (which means prosperity by the way), it was just an old dusty and sleepy town when I was assigned in that area back in the early 90's. Thanks for the updates on how Mindanao has changed Kulas. Laag pa more! Super apir!

Oh by the way... that "Tandok" variety of banana, its what you westerners call as plantain. And the "Adlay" or Adlai is also known as Job's tears, its a grain that is from Africa and apparently it was popular in biblical times as their grain source. It was introduced to Southeast Asia as a rice and corn substitute during the time of the droughts in the 80's because it could withstand high temperature, and apparently its more nutritious than rice or corn... :-)

I do want to do some very newbie vlogs for my family and friends. If i may ask a question... Drones in the Phillipines, how are the regulations over there? There are regulations on drones flying in Metro Manila cities and you need a license to fly those. Those cities have sky scrapers, power lines and stuffs so drones flying need a permit and you have to have a license to get a permit. In the provinces, it's not regulated.

Adlai, the biko that you ate, is being touted as the new supergrain, just like quinoa was rediscovered in the last 15 years or so. Adlai is better than rice because of its very low glycemic index, high protein and fiber contents, and is particularly good for diabetics. Adlai is a ceteal grass, and grows in the wild, but is now commercially farmed. It's about 4 to 5 times more expensive than rice, as sold in metro Manila health food stores. The seeds of adlai make natural beads and are made into rosaries. In tagalog, it's called Katigbi. And in English is known as Job's Tears, after the Bible character Job, who endured many spirit-crushing trials from God, yet remained faithful to God inspite of them. Hence the seeds are named Job's Tears, because they're shaped like teardrops. And if anybody could shed large, hard teardtopss like that, it'd be Job. It's scientific name is coix lachryma-jobi.
