- This is definitely the most dangerous thing you could ever do in the Philippines, and probably anywhere in the world. Finn Snow and I decided to go on a little morning adventure in Mindanao, and it was awesome. We ended up hanging out with a local tribe and learning a thing or two about how they create amazing bracelets. Not to mention we really enjoyed the mountain air and adventure in Mindanao!
The Bukidnon/Davao highway is a very beautiful area that anyone can drive around and explore. In this video you will see Finn Snow and I trying to get around hitchhiking. Yes, there isn't much local transport around because it was a highway... and so... we had to hitch!
Which at times can be dangerous, but it was such a fun experience!
This is just a simple video hitchhiking in Mindanao and having fun interacting and learning!

I am amazed by all my "discoveries" since yesterday -- Westerners who fell in Love with the Philippines -- it's people, culture, food, etc.-- You, Wil Dasovich, Daniel Marsh, just to name a few... (Sorry for missing to name some of your "Fighter Boys" and "Vlog Crews" that I don't know yet).
While, here I am in the Western World (US of A) working towards my American Dream.

Kulas, they didn't actually translate the "How much?", They answered it that's why they said "sampulo pesos" which means "ten pesos".
Thats one thing i really miss in mindanao....hitchhiking in a ten wheelers truck only in Mindanao...

Scary experience riding 4 people on the bike without protective equipment. Fun to watch but it could be the end of a great adventure if you crash.

@Amristar Dunno about your province but in Bukidnon it is _very_ common for big trucks (usually sugarcane haulers) to give rides to locals. Especially in the interior roads. Their drivers come from the same communities and the same tribes.

Gotta hand it to you Kyle. That was the most outrageous motorcycle balancing act I have seen if I may say so. I've seen people ride habal-habal's like that in Mindanao, but that wasn't even a haba-habal. Its just a regular two seater motorcycle with the driver cradling his other passenger so that he could accommodate you and Finn, that was insane man! By the way, the pepper you saw was a scotch bonnet pepper, its a pepper found endemic in Jamaica and in Louisiana in the USA, its not "scat bonnet". And "sapulo pesos" meant ten pesos each in the Matigsalug language. To ask how much you say, "tampipila". ;-)

I don't think I'd be able to resist stopping and buying all those gorgeous plants... 😓😓😓 PS... my plant addiction is something I got from my parents so blame them not me! 😂😂😂 All jokes aside my mom, like a lot of Filipino moms loves planting flowers and covering our whole garden with them... My dad loves to plant fruit trees/trees in general he has planted so many of them all over the town in little patches of land owned by our family 😁😁😁

Can't get enough of the beautiful views and camaraderie of the fighterboys! The cultural aspects of your videos are great. Supporting the locals by getting to know them and their crafts and of course the food! Rice congee - lugaw is comfort food especially for stomach aches and during fevers - our favourite is arroz caldo (a kind of chicken rice soup with ginger) and rainy cold day snack/breakfast of champorado. It was so nice of the drivers to offer you a lift up and the ride down was really dangerous but cool! It was fast downhill and the road was nicely paved so as long as you're only risking yourself, enjoy it! Stay safe :)
