hello! I'm Adonai Regis, I'm Haitian. Warren I don't know how to thank you. I'm not a academic musician so, I do a lot of research so I know lots thing about musical theory. I can compare me a little like a conservatory musician. as I said, I know lots thing. I could tell you, I have a little knowledge of almost every topic you develop. but but but, the only problem its, I didn't know how and when I had to use these theory. now, watching your videos I could say you make me too much better. Respect to you Warren you are the best I meet. Thank a lot.

Another brilliant eye opener🙌🏾, especially the concept of borrowed chords..
this is why experimentation and ears is critical in playing because if you step back and try to remember all those rules, it basically says you can play any key almost any time.
Great lesson as always.
Thank you 🙏🏽
thanks warren , your lessons really motivate me to keep practising! thangs a lot !

Exactly warren. This is some of the tutorials you should cover more. :-) I want to be able to analysing every song I play so I understand the chordprogression in any song I play. Autumn leaves or many other jazz or pop song sometimes not only use the diatonic system and for me that can be confusing. Thanks for all you do. You are a wonderful player teacher and singer.

Can you do a vid on the Minor 6,7 chord options?
best piano mentor
shaannnnn 😊👍🏾
Who in the hell dislikes ur videos? 😨 They should get electric shock tapping the thumbs down. Even me who never got music lessons learn something from you. Like the diatonics of the 2 most used scales are in my head, but watching u play them in different variations/inversions inspire me so much. I’ll watch ur videos over and over. Btw I think I’ll make some trance music based on ur harmonic and melodic scales tutorial. That shit sounds so dramatically epic and exciting for trance music.🙌🏾🔥💥💥😍😍😍
Deep deep ..but thanks a lot I have learnt....a lot.. Talk about..how to use half notes...and slash chords and how they work...also talk about suspended chords.... I'm from Kenya... I have really liked it...God bless..
Edgar Motugi Thanks for watching 😊👍🏾

Sounds so much cool n nice. Well done bro, I respect you to be my mentor. My question is; "how do i fixe my left hand while playing the minor, n hw do I subtitute the major to the minor in song? Thanks n more grees to your elbow sir...
Thanks very much sir you've been a blessing to this community I now understand the minor scale and it's chords what I don't understand is how to actually use it is it that I could play a song on a major scale and still play that same song on it's relative Minor depending on the mode o want to give to the song ?
Bruv u the best
What you have told us is exerlent...if you can be doing songs... In a different Chanel it will be exerlent..# CHALLENGED... This tutorial has brought challenged me...thanks a lot..
Hey, Warren: I'm new in your channel and your contents are great. I wonder if you have any video about playing technique to avoid finger pain, because sometimes I end my practice with pain, stifness or a little discomfort, so I want to fix that because I want to take make music very seriously. Thank you for your reply.
Hi warren great video as always i was wondering if you could do a tutorial on Donnie McClurkin Great is your Mercy
Lincoln Soezenberg 😊👍🏾
Please make a video on how to use a sustain pedal
Kingsley Atuba will do
Omg! Literally can't wait OMG!!!!!!!!
Hi warren excellent video on minors. Could you teach Preacher Chords and Shouting chords? I'd definitely pay for that training.
Jovan Ashton honestly preaching chords and shouting chords are not really my thing. I wouldn’t be the right person to teach that as it’s not something I do.
I know this video was not about borrowed chords, but I want to know more about it! I hope you have the topic on your list of things to cover!!!
That short discussion was blowing my mind. It was awesome.
One question I had was where do you use the borrowed chords? I await the video answering this question. :)
Victor Scott so the term borrow chords and passing chords are using interchangeably, because most of the time to use Passing chords are not diatonic chords, therefore it was borrowed from a neighboring key.
When to understand this fully, it has to be taught in conjunction with reharmonization, and passing chord because they all sorta mean the same thing.
I’ll do a video elaborate on the differences and similarities in these concepts.
Definitely looking forward to this as well.. Thanks alot bro
Thank you, Warren! I look forward to that!
Absolutely agree with you guys. I'll look forward for it too. Modal Interchange, yea, awesome. 👍👍👍👍
14:45 I really liked how you showed how you can borrow chords from the minor scale. Some of your examples here sounded kind of Pat Metheny(ish). :)
That's so great, can make a chart for us please ?
Kaijin Is The Greatest !!! Unfortunately no charts available
Sir you so amazing teacher your the one who bright me from empy to fully may be one question what is the nice book in which i can get through all the materials in their fluency
No books, I create step by step videos lessons in my membership program; you cN learn more here; pianolessonwithwarren.com/all-courses/
Are there common minor cadences or chord progressions, maybe with a song example? Like minor is a whole different world where you dive into Arabic, polish, Russian and French music. The European jazz/swing stuff, they all have different minor sounds, could you talk about that?
Ever since I found your channel you saved me so much time, you are the perfect library. Very structured and organized. Good tempo and explanation as the examples and visualizations you give.
I am becoming a music teacher and you help me prepare and remember, thank you a lot.
Could you talk about bass a bit more or did you already?
Looking forward to your answer
God bless you
HeiA I’m not familiar with French or Russian music so I cannot speak on that, but the same concept will apply as along as the song is using western harmony concepts.
Here is a tutorial a did last year on walking bass. ruclips.net/video/LJVADZvhjIg/видео.html
Hey Warren, I’m learning the melodic minor scales. But how do I learn to incorporate scales like this and the other minor scales into my playing?
I can see that you are a good teacher.. the problem is I'm just getting started.. so may you please do one on one lessons with me
Elijah T Chiguvi I have over 200 videos for all skill level. Check my beginner playlist.
@@PianoLessonwithWarren Okey thank you so much
I really learned SO MUCH from this lesson, Warren. It feels like it taught me some very important and central ideas I did not know. I am definitely going to study this and all of the tutorials by you that I have not already learned. Thank you.
I have one simple question: How are you creating the visuals? We see you, your piano and some graphic that shows the name of the keys at the same time. What do I need to do this automatic Key Naming? I have IOS, MacOs and Windows available to me.
Kerry Zvalueman are thinking of creating video?
What you see is three videos recording combined and edited to give you the final result.
The virtual MIIDI keyboard on top is called MIDIculous. Then one overhead camera for my hands and for for my torso.
Then all video clips are edited down in Premiere Pro.
Thank you so much for this information. The magic I was seeking was "MIDIculous". I will have to research that. I don't necessarily want to create video, but I love to learn.
Kerry Zvalueman cool 😎
