I've shared this with my sister in law. We both manage arthritis, especially her, so fingers crossed she can find a technique here that is effective. Thank you! BTW, I was embroidering and stabbing my fingers as I watched. hahaha. Humans. Silly things. :) Off to find my thimbles now....
I liked it. I am a traditional thimble user. (Sounds like I'm in a meeting :)) once I figured out that they were sized I found the one that fit and kept stitching. But this was really helpful. I never thought to investigate newer styles some of them are really clever.
Thanks for the video, watched it 2x. I've ordered a variety of thimbles and looking forward to seeing what works best for me. Recently new to embroidery.
Love this kind of helpful video! I always wonder what silly things I don’t know. How many thimbles do I own? Only the black hole of my sewing stuff knows that. lol. Do I use them correctly? At all? Sommmmetimes... Also, one day you’ll need to talk about the fabulous painting over your shoulder. I feel like I’m supposed to recognize it. I would have it on camera, too. 👍🏻 🖼 🎨
Great video! One of the best things about sewing is there is always something new to learn. I love hand sewing and treasure my absolutely necessary basic metal thimble, but my new struggles with arthritis has taken the fun out of it. I'm definitely going to get a couple of those silicone thimbles for my thumb and pointer. I'm excited! Thanks :-)
Great question! No the silicone ones just help you grip the needle to reduce strain on your fingers. That's why I use a hard thimble or a leather thimble on the finger that pushes the needle.
“They are not just for monopoly, who knew!” Perfect.
Cool, I have several different ones that I use depending on what I sewing. Even some from my mom & grandmother!
That's awesome, it's so great to have those little treasures from family❤️

Hand sewing is such a joy! I hope those silicone ones help!
Do the silicone ones stop you from pricking yourself with needle or does the needle just go through
