  • The Exile decides to ask Kreia about Revan's past and her connection between them. This is a scene you can get if you have enough influence with Kreia.
    This video takes place at M4-78. It's a planet cut from the game. This module is a raw incomplete module.

    To be honest...Kreia was never a "villain" to me, more like a teacher. I played KOTOR 2 as a Sith, because Sith are a lot more fun than these boring Jedi. At the end of the story I was confused...But after playing the game several times and thinking about her lines and teachings, it's quite clear. It wasn't her goal to "destroy" the force. The force was her only true enemy, the invisible power that drives force users to cause death and destruction. She showed me the arrogance and self-righteousness of both Jedi and Sith, the emptyness of their teachings. She wanted to deafen all force users, stripping away the force from everyone in the galaxy to end its "will", its influence. The exile was interesting to her because he/she was able to use the force, but wasn't used BY it ("a dead spot in the force").

No... she is the only one that looked beyond the push and pull of either side of the Force, and saw the horror of it. She is Sith only because she knows how many people will die as consequence to her actions. But she also knows that if she does not do it, more will die.

  • @Wolffeye13

    Speculation? Yes. But well supported speculation. The fact that Arren Kae and Kreia were both Revan's first and last master, the fact that "Kriea" is literally a composition of "Kae" and "Traya," the fact that Arren Kae's body was never recovered from Malachor V, and Kreia remained to teach at the Trayus academy...
    Speculation? Yep. But it is supported by so many different evidences, including the fact that it would fit perfectly with Brianna's story & Kreia's exile. It is an epic twist.

    God, KotOR 2 was so underrated. Yeah, it's a shame they had to cut so much content, and the game wasn't really the same without it, but the story and dialog were superb, and the characters were amazingly well-written.
    Also, is Kreia removing her hood part of a mod? I've never had Kreia do that before, but I don't know if I ever maxed out her influence meter during a playthrough anyway.

    • @Lucifronz
      @Lucifronz 6 лет назад +33

      Yes, it's almost certainly a mod of some sort. Even modded, I have never had it happen, but I never installed this particular mod, (the cut content planet), so maybe it's part of that or perhaps it's something else entirely. It's nice, though.
      I agree, too. When I was younger, I did *not* appreciate KOTOR 2, but in many ways, it beats the first. Particularly in character writing. I love the first KOTOR and I do love it more than 2, but it is part nostalgia and part appreciation for some of the clever elements of the first's writing (the twist, namely). KOTOR 2 is a masterpiece and absolutely one of the finest Star Wars games in existence.
      It's just a shame that, to get the full experience, you need to mod it in order to restore cut content. That is partly why I did not appreciate it as a kid. It was so torn apart and had too many unfinished segments and unexplained plot points. When I came back to it, before the KOTOR 2 cut content mod, I appreciated it more. Then I came back after buying it on Steam and downloading the cut content mod and was fully able to appreciate it.
      KOTOR 1 and 2 are my favorites and Kreia is a damn good character. She beats any other Sith lord because she isn't a Sith anymore and she breaks that mold of "Jedi or Sith" that the series has fallen into so many times.

    Kreia is the one force user I respect the most. She pretty much sees that people and the galaxy are instruments for the twisted balance the Force is trying to achieve. I mean if you think about it Sith are born again and again within the Jedi order's ranks...Otherwise the council becomes a lair of douchiness where people like Atris and Vrook have influence. This looks to me like the Force never favors the dominant side for a long time...So kreia IS the better teacher...

    I like to think that Revan was the embodiment of the will of the force, not so strong as the Chosen One, who was birthed through the force. More like the force flowed through him like a river, calm and easy, yet large and not to be taken lightly. He didn’t care about the light side or the dark side, and once he realized that the Jedi would not perform their supposed duties due to the threat of the dark side, revan felt that falling to the dark side to save others was something he felt all Jedi should do

      I'm not sure you could even get this kind of story in to a holywood movie, not one with as much mass appeal anyway, which Star Wars kinda needs as it's such a huge phenomenon and can't just cater to us nerds. It's all a bit too dark and nihilistic, with pretty complicated mature themes. I would not have gotten it on any level when I was like 10, but a New Hope or something can just be enjoyed as a fun space adventure with laser swords, and that's what gets most people in to SW in the first place. A TV series, or another RPG though... There's definitely a market there for more nuanced storytelling, without the 2-3 hour limit to cram everything in to, which isn't so difficult with a standard good vs evil SW story.

  • @JediShemL

    Kreia is Kreia. It's simple, yet the truth. From what she has said about herself, she was a Jedi Historian and she was once Revan's master. She was expelled from the Jedi Order because she was blamed for Revan's fall and the many Jedi who followed Revan to war. Her teachings were to blame.
    She turned to the dark side in effort to learn the Force in all its forms so she could destroy it and she is also on a mission to prove to the Jedi Council that her teachings were correct.

At this point 9 years later, why hide this secret? What's the point? Especially now that the franchise is killed, but yet there are die hard fans who want it revealed.

    Kreia: when i looked at revan it was like staring at the heart of the force
    Exile: what do you see when you look at me?

    I personally think they at the very least they should make Revan genderless because in KOTOR you could, and I did, play Revan as female, and you could play as male too, but because of that option Revan should be genderless, either that or in KOTOR 2 and TOR they should either ask the player directly if they'd played Revan as a specific gender then make Revan that gender for that player, or through character conversations have to play to speculate as to what gender Revan was then him Revan that gender, though the easiest thing would be to simply make Revan genderless, never show Revan without the mask, never refer to Revan with gender pronouns simply as Revan.

      When you first meet Atton while he's locked in a force cage. The option comes up in conversation as you suggested. It's then you can determine the gender you played in KOTOR1.

      Canonically, Revan is a male and the Exile a female. Even if you played Kotor one as a chick and Kotor II as a dude, Revan is still a man and Meetra Surik is still a woman.
      When they realized so many people wanted the Kotor stories to continue they had to make the main characters a specific gender, so they just settled on one and said: 'Revan's a guy, Meetra's a girl. Play the games however you want them, but when it comes to the real story, that's what they really are.'

      They should have made him transgender. Androgin, you know.

    • @CuteGallifreyian
      @CuteGallifreyian 6 лет назад +2

      Sadly they gave Revan a canonized gender and the same with the Exile. But I agree with you. TOR would have been much more enjoyable if they allowed the player to play a Revan and an Exile with the gender you wished. For me, it would have been a Female Revan and a Male Exile.
      As for KOTOR 2 that option already exists, you have that option to pick what gender you want for the Exile and what gender Revan is when you talk to Atton. I agree though giving people the choice of who Revan was male or female makes players much more invested into game play.

      Raven is not your character in kotor 2, hes long gone to malachor 5 by the time your character wakes up on a damaged Ebon hawk. Also raven never really got cast out of the jedi order , he left without their permission to fight in the war but they didnt cast him out because while the jedi didnt think they should be in the war they were not gonna stop anyone who wanted to go fight in Ravens mercy corp, then later he returned and attacked the republic, so if anything he left the order himself. And the most damning evidence against your theory is the fact Bastila and Carth talk to your character near the end of Kotor2 and tell you Revan went to malachor 5.

    Direct action is not always the best way.
    Perhaps Kreia's cryptic character was framed in such a way to make the player think. Her words of wisdom were that of a true jedi. It takes thought. Perhaps the makers of the game wanted us to think, to put pieces together-- to finish what they started. No where else but through that could we ever know where Kreia came from. You don't always need to spell things out, and Kreia DID tell us Brianna would lead the jedi as a historian; as she once was.

Exile the General, true potential with such horrors etched into her very being that she was a wound, a void in the Force that could kill it. And at the edge of the universe, where none others stand... the two meet again.

    ...hence, having nothing left to loose, Kae marched to war, she was already an exile when she joined Revan, and died in the war. Mical does mention Revan going back to his original master to learn how best to leave the Order. As for Kae he says that Revan went to her before she had gone to the war, in the same period of time that Revan, and Malak, went to Zhar Lestin and Dorak.

Perhaps she did know once, and didn't want to tell us where her old student is. Or she had an idea of where, but wasn't sure. That's the thing about Kreia, you never quite know if she's telling the whole truth. When one talks with her, you can never tell if she knows more than she leads us to believe.
