  • Suzi shares her full recovery from severe ME/CFS, a 15+ year journey. In 2017, she became fully bed-bound. For the next 2.5 years, she could only walk to the toilet. At her rock bottom, she found her full path out. This is one of my MOST inspiring interviews! Starts 0:23. TIMESTAMPS below.
    Summary:
    Suzi Leach, now in her mid-30's, was knocked down by glandular fever at age 17 (she had some symptoms prior to that). She was soon diagnosed with ME. She had up and down periods, until a bad crash at age 30 left her fully bed-bound. For the next 2.5 years, she went deep down the diet and supplement route, and tried to perfect her pacing, but still remained in bed. She was seriously considering doing a coffee enema on the floor… when she found a new path out.
    She has been fully recovered since March 2020.

    Hi Suzy. I have absolutely loved watching your recovery story. It's funny because I've recently had a big aha moment which matches everything you say! I've been ill 5 years with ME/CFS but many health problems and anxiety since a teen (I'm 39 now) I've been doing GUPTA retraining for 9 months and I also have a book called reverse therapy that I've read 3 times(it's basically Mickel) I'm also doing the trauma into childhood as this has been absolutely key to me in understanding the 'why'. Why I people please, overacheive etc. I can't believe how much energy I'd put into a social situation to prove myself. All because I didn't feel accepted as a child! My body hates it! I'm having a huge revelation and now becoming so aware of my thoughts! And changing them! It's unbelievable because I'm finally gaining traction. I also have been doing curable for around 4 weeks and it is absolutely brilliant and in line with everything I'm learning. I love the bitesized practical tasks! This is find out who we truly are. Everything you've said is just so spot on! I can't wait to be able to earn some money soon and use it to travel! Thank you so much for sharing x

      Suzi can I ask you what your rewire looked like? Did you focus on something else, like counting chairs in the cinema looll ?? Thank you, I’m going to listen this interview a lot!

    • @suzileach4833
      @suzileach4833 Год назад +1

      @@clarissericardo2313 Hi Clarisse, the rewire technique I used was from the ANS rewire programme. The intention is that you are shifting the nervous system state back to one of regulation. So I would interrupt my thoughts, do some breathwork or use tools to calm down my nervous system, give myself the new perspective and understanding of why symptoms are there and then engage my attention in something else. So yeah focusing on something and distracting is definitely part of it, I definitely used a bit of looking around the cinema! Happy to help 😊💙

    Hi everyone, thanks for being here. I hope you enjoy this inspiring interview. Take your time with this one, because there are a lot of powerful insights. Suzi is such a gem has so much wonderful wisdom. Based on past feedback, I warmed my screen so my wall appears less white to make it easier for people to watch with light sensitivity. Hope that helps. I also included closed captions, as well. A written transcript of our conversation will be up on my site next week. Sending my support and encouragement!

    Very inspiring! I have chronic pericarditis, most likely triggered by Covid, and have lived thru similar symptoms and long Covid symptoms. Nearly 3 years down the line, I’m much better and can go for small walks but my heart has never fully healed and I get regular flares. I have never lost hope that I will fully heal without having a pericardiectomy and Luz’s stories inspire me and make me try out new ways of healing.

      @@doritamayrhofer4736 Oh Pieter mentioned that a few weeks ago. Glad these stories have helpful, and I'm so sorry you've been going through this. For me, the bob naviaux research about post-viral illness being a block in the healing cycle was helpful (more-so than the initial trigger), and on how inflammation can be significantly influenced by the nervous system. Because I certainly tried all the turmeric like Suzi (and 20 other anti-inflammatory anti-viral herbs)! But at the end, I just followed what helped people heal and what resonated with me. Then afterwards, I got back into the science to understand how it all worked. Sometimes I'm surprised it did. But last month I was sitting next to a neurologist at the wedding of Pieter's former student and telling him about how I healed from post-viral CFS. He was describing how it makes sense because of the HPA access - and how the prefrontal cortex can influence it, and how the vagus nerve can influence inflammatory response. Some of the nervous system regulation programs get into the science about that more than others. Sending my support and healing vibes for your full recovery!

    Sadly mickel therapy did'nt work for me at all. I could never identify the " keys"(emotions) and it would make me even more frustrated and upset.

    • @HealwithLiz

      It seems like all approaches depend on us to love ourselves and self-compassion. The order and approach really matters. The promise Suzi made to herself (3 years before she came across it). The brain retraining for a year before. Then the trauma exploration / journaling / Sarno inspired app, while doing the Mickel therapy. From our last chat, I'm glad you've found resonance with the Jim Prussacks somatic experiencing approach and letting your feelings come up rather than rewiring everything. And you inspired me to go back to my old healthy habit of getting up at dawn. Dom I believe in you!!!!! I know processing a lifetime of trauma isn't easy. You will inspire many people.

    When she says 45mins "I was rewiring all the time" what does she mean? What was she doing? Thanks!

    • @HealwithLiz
      @HealwithLiz  4 месяца назад +1

      Brain rewiring comes in all different forms. In the context Suzi was referring to, it's likely she was recognizing a pattern, thought, or behavior that was based in fear, reminding herself that it was her nervous system, taking steps to calm her nervous system, and redirecting her attention on something positive. There are different programs that have different approaches. Some are more trauma based than others.
