as a DH skateboarder I can tell you this may look crazy but there is a huge amount of work beside that. These guys train like hell and know every single turns of the roads they skate.
Their trucks and board are expensive as hell and are super precised, stable (and turny at a time) and allow you to be very confidend at high speed.
      Brave but not crazy ^^
In my team rider there are some guys who used to be street skater like you. And they learnt DH skating very very quick like in a year they were able to reach 70-80kph. Give it a shot ;)

My adrenaline spiked while watching. I am 56 and back into skating parks before the lockdown but the other day I bombed a hill at the end of our street. I had planned it and brought my skate wrench but forgot to tighten my trucks. I got going pretty fast and uh oh some wobbles.
Scared the shit out of me. I’ve left a lot of dna on hills I’ve stacked on in the past but this time I remembered a downhill video I watched on RUclips and the guy said 70% of weight on the front foot and lean forward.
I held my front foot as steady tight as I could and didn’t stack! Bombing hills is a RUSH!

fr it’s crazy the amount of leg strength board sports take. I remember the first time I tried wakesurfing I got the hang of it really quick but my legs gave out after 5 minutes just from holding the edge in the wake

that's why the guy screams ," OWww!" at very end; that front leg feels like pins&needles after maintaining tuck for this long a run.

I remember skating home from school with a friend and a couple times when we were close together our foot would clip part of the others wheel, then they'd go flying.
I know in the vid they're not pushing but man does it stress me out seeing how close they get xD

In my younger days of riding skateboards, maybe yes. Now at 70 years old, there's no way in hell I would even think of getting on a skateboard. I'll leave this to the younger generations and brave at heart. Good luck and just know this. If you fall it's gonna hurt like Hell.
