There's no need to be so confused. Most movies explain themselves if you give them a chance to. Especially if you're not talking over the dialogue that explains whatever it is you're confused about.
Once again from the cheap seats please. Too many of them talk unnecessarily and are rarely critiqued for it. Millennials and GenZ do it because they feel that every thought needs to come out of their mouths. They should be respectfully paying attention while the story unfolds as intended. React with facial expressions, body movements and low toned noises (yeah, oh shit, whoa, nice, ew gross, uh oh), save the chit-chat commentary and questions for the end.
Thank God as Gen-Xers, we watched the movie as it was without overthinking or over-analyzing every single scene. As such, we see it for what it is and enjoyed it without feeling confused. So I can imagine why your mum loves the movie just as many us of the older generations.
I love the bit when he lifts Barbara's dress up with the stick and he has a look up her dress. 20 : 46 to 20 : 54 "oh yeah". LOL makes me laugh everytime that part.
I'd also add another Tim Burton film to this great list. Watch 'Edward Scissorhands' with Johnny Depp and Wynonia Ryder. Another thing that you'll notice with Tim Burton films is most of the musical scores for his film are composed by Danny Elfman, which really add to the whimsical and strangeness of his films.
If you don't get the "don't mind her, she's still upset because somebody dropped a house on her sister" joke, you need to watch The Wizard of Oz. There are a lot of references in pop culture to that movie, and it's a pretty amazing watch.
My favorite bit in the movie (aside from The Banana Boat Song): Adam: What are your qualifications? Beetlejuice: Ah. Well...I attended Juilliard. I'm a graduate of the Harvard business school. I travel quite extensively. I lived through the Black Plague and had a pretty good time during that. I've seen The Exorcist ABOUT A HUNDRED AND SIXTY-SEVEN TIMES, AND IT KEEPS GETTING FUNNIER EVERY SINGLE TIME I SEE IT!!!! NOT TO MENTION THE FACT THAT YOU'RE TALKING TO A DEAD GUY!!!! NOW WHAT DO YOU THINK? You think I'm qualified?
Catherine O'Hara; I say it takes a talented actress to be able to portray both the endearing mother of Kevin and Lydia's contemptible harpy of a stepmother.
I'm writing that my name is Josh and i've been reading online that Beetlejuice Beetlejuice will have an official 4K HD digital release on Tuesday October 8, 2024. the digital release will also .include special features including a second version of Beetlejuice Beetlejucie with an audio commentary by Tim Burton. this means that everybody at home can do first watching video for Beetejuice Beetlejuice beginning on Tuesday October 8, 2024. I can confirm that there won't be deleted and extended scenes that will be included on the 4K Bluray and DVD release on Tuesday November 19, 2024. that might be the exact same day that Beetlejuice Beetlejuice becomes available to stream on MAX.
Oddly enough, when this came out, I had all the merch... even though I was three. I had the VHS which I watched on loop, the bedsheets, and I used to carry around this ugly pull string Beetlejuice doll that's probably worth a thousand bucks now. There was even a Saturday morning cartoon series that ran for years. Makes me miss growing up in the early 90's lol. Nice reaction
Fun fact, Beetlegeuse is actually a demon, not a ghost. Even though he says "I'm the ghost with the most". But he's actually a demon which is why he has powers.
She is wearing a glove on her head 😂 you are the only reactors I've seen catch that. Notice that she wears her husband's hideous sweater as bottoms during her cooking scene.
I just saw the sequel and it was great wont spoil it for you but I will give it a 9 outta 10.. I do have a question. if you guys were in Barbara and adam's situation would you seek Beetlejuice for help or would you take your ghostly caseworkers advice?
24:15 In this scene, BeetleJuice's hair reminds reminds me of the 1987 film when Kiefer Sutherland played as David in "The Lost Boys" but with green mold on the edge of his hair.
Huge fan of this movie! The HHN house was amazing for hardcore fans like myself...I'll be at the theater for the long awaited sequel! And I loath theaters

This is one of many PG films from the 80s when the rating actually meant that parental guidance was necessary.

Henry Selick directed "The Nightmare Before Christmas", despite it being called "Tim Burton's". He designed a lot of the characters and design.
I can't wait for the sequel! I never imagined it would even be a thing! Tim Burton rarely disappoints as a director. Almost ALWAYS amazing movies!
Michael Keaton As Beetlejuice damn good acting 👻🕷️🕸️🖤
he killed it!!
Still my fave Tim Burton film and Michael Keaton should have won an award for his performance.
As messed up in a sense this movie is I absolutely loved it as a kid. At the time I didn't realize Beetlejuice was also Batman!
I still remember how much I loved this movie growing up. We had action figures of the characters and I also watched the cartoon they made of it.
The new one definitely looks pretty good. I plan on seeing it.

The town they're in is a fictional town of winter river
The actual name of the town is East Corinth In Vermont and it's very close to this other town called Salem Massachussetts.
