Geoff added some 808 subwoofer bass hits throughout the sound design. Rattles the headphones but really adds to the atmosphere of the arrangement!
No, the rumbling is in the video. Love your face when reacting to the rumble and his low, low notes.

Took me several listenings to really appreciate the discordant section. Some Sound of Silence purists will not like Geoff's interpretation, but I love it!
He sent out an instrumental track to his patrons, it included that Jurassic Park low, low sound. This is the first time (so far) that he's sung harmony without showing the backup Geoff's. I looked for them for awhile and then realized that they would have taken away from the sadness and loneliness of the song.

He likes to give visual representation of the harmonies but skipped the Geoftettes on his video for "High and Dry" as well as this one. I agree the lone man video format fits the dystopian vibe he wanted for this one.😊

I like this more, the more I hear it. I really love the creative choices he made. This song has been done so much, it's hard to bring anything new, but he managed to do it. As he always does! We can always count on Geoff to bring us something we haven't heard before in those amazing buttery tones of his!

This took me a few times to process it. It is so different and compelling.
It is a totally different experience with and without headphones- even with my cheaper ones. Both are good, but with headphones it really hits you

Love your reaction to Geoff's take on this classic old song. I grew up with the original (it came out when I was around 7 or 8) and have heard so many versions since then but this one is definitely one of the best! To be honest, I now prefer many of the covers to the original....... Absolutely love the glimpse of "Geoff the rockstar" when he is stood belting in his higher range and his low bass self rumbling underneath!

This is one of those songs that I had to sit with a bit-happens more often with Tomi P. It’s not that I don’t love it right off, but I have to listen a bunch of times and process what I’m hearing. Geoff threw a lot of surprises at us, but they were all really good ones. Love this cover!

Tomi P. lacks the ability to reach the depths of one's soul like Geoff does. Geoff makes you feel the music & lyrics with every ounce of his being.
@@marshayoung9387 Geoff is twice Tomi’s age. He wasn’t this good in his early 20’s-it’s taken years of hard work to get where he is. I love that he likes to encourage young talent, and I try to do what I can to help support them, especially when they’re as talented as Tomi is.
@@lkayh that may be but Tomi & the rest of the bass gang will never be able to put the emotions feeling's into a song like Geoff does.
@@marshayoung9387 We don’t need to gatekeep artistic ability. Geoff can be wonderful and so can the members of TBG. And we have no idea yet what they can do-they’re just getting started. Geoff’s been at it awhile and put in years of hard work to get where he is.
The sound you hear is definitely part of the song. I double checked my earbuds the first time I listened to this and thought I was getting an issue with them. I commented to Geoff about it sounding like "electric frizzle". It's the vibe of the song, adding to the post-apocalyptic, rise of the machines feeling. It sets a really dark tone to the emotion of the music. Love your reaction, and you aren't crazy re: that big distorted bass sound effect 🥰Note to all: definitely wear headphones to hear all the sound.

Geoff's arrangements are amazing! My other favorite is "Take Me Home Country Roads", composed by John Denver.

the sounds you taklking about in the beginning : those "almost string-brushing sounds" are because he presses the pedals on the piano to mute some tones or hold the notes nd so on i bet you know how pianos work ;) but it fits and you can clearly hear he plays THIS piano, not a midi one :D (if it is midi, it is a gooooood source O_O )
