Agree completely. Here in Orange County it’s actually a much more affordable option. My friend rents one and it’s great, 3 beds and 2 full baths and it’s really nice. Granite countertops nice floors.
I really enjoyed this so much. It’s a lovely park. Issues can arise when they double the space rent. I know of a senior park that went from $1,000 a month this month to $1,770 at the end of this year, and that will never end.
This is the first mobile home park I've seen that I would love to live! The houses there have so much character. I hope they are able to keeo the cozy creative feel of this community.
Thanks for showing Ramon Park. I asked you only a couple of weeks ago to tour this one. My husband and I are interested in living here. Love all your videos. Thanks again.
Loved this, Steve! Love all of your videos for that manner. My family lived in a trailer park, as we call them here in NJ. Mobile home or Caravan Park, as they reference to them in the UK sound so much better. The Mobile home in your segment is so adorable! So glad to see you getting better and better! Hugs to you and your family! Stay safe!
I love all the decoration and citrus trees. What's fascinating is that other than those 2 walkers, it was absolutely still. It's almost as if it was a movie set, waiting for cast and crew to arrive for a day of filming. Lots of charm.
Hi Michael, yes, I did walk pretty early in the morning because it’s peaceful and most people are still in bed. I usually only run into dog walkers lol! 😄👍
@steveinpalmspringsca I think I meant to say backlot (not movie set). What can I say, I'm not in the biz. I enjoy your content and, frankly, would love to see Palm Springs for the mid-century architecture alone. Thanks for the response.
Hi Steve it’s lovely too see the mobile home park I loved that beautiful actress she was one off the greats 😊the homes there are beautiful 😊take care Steve

Love these videos of the mobile home parks! Recently, my husband and I have started looking on Zillow in the Palm Springs area, just to get an idea of home prices, etc. Did you know that there is a mobile home park that was developed by Bing Crosby? Recently, there was a mobile home that was for sale, in the Blue Skies Village. Upon further reading, that is the mobile home park that Bing Crosby, Jack Benny, and a few others invested in. I thought I’d mention it to you, because it’s in the area, but I’m not sure if it’s fully gated or not. Nonetheless, very interesting. Great video, today! My husband pulls up your walking videos when he misses the area. Which, is about weekly. 🤣😂🤣.
Hi Carla, yes, I am very familiar with blue skies village. I love it. I used to have friends who live there. So I know it very well. Unfortunately it is gated and very difficult to get in. I was just thinking about it yesterday and if they have an open house there in the future that might be an opportunity for me to get inside the gate and walk around and film it. That’s awesome that your husband enjoys watching these videos too. 😎🦩👍
@ I had a feeling it was gated, but I thought I’d mention it. If it ever comes up to where you can walk through there, I will definitely watch that one for sure.❤️
Ramon Park is an awesome place to live. It's a 55 and older park. Space rent is about 787.00 a month and that includes water and sewer. Many parks charge extra for water. It's close proximity to shopping, restaurants and parks makes it an ideal place to live. Thanks for highlighting Ramon Park Steve! 🌴🌴🏡🌴🌴

Hi Robert, if you end up moving here and you ever see me out and out walking around town definitely join me for a walk and be in whatever video I’m filming. That would be fun. 😎👍
In 2023 the NYT did a profile of a guy from SF who moved to a mobile home park in Palm Springs as part of their The Hunt real estate series. It was the first time that I became aware of the appeal of this housing option for some folk. Love all the personal touches throughout the lots in this park. 😎
Thanks for sharing that with us J. It definitely is one of the best kept secrets of affordable living here in Palm Springs and in other expensive places too! 😎👍
@@steveinpalmspringscaI bought one 10 years ago as rental property. Turned out to be a smart move on my part. It has tripled in value and I own the land so there is no space rent. HOA dues are only $80 p/m😊

Fun tour with lots of uniquely decorated homes, Steve! Recently some 900 residents of the Lil Abner mobile home community in Sweetwater, FL were given months to vacate after the corperation that owns the property decided to sell to developers! YIKES, huh? (Sorry for such a downer comment.) Not owning the land beneath your house has its disadvantaged, particularly for us low/fixed income.😢Where will all these folks go?
Love these types of mobile home park tours. I have loved Della Reese’s powerful rendition of “Don’t You Know” (from Puccini’s opera) ever since my Jr High music teacher played that record in class one day over 50+ years ago.
Watching from Rome 😊 I miss Palm Springs and I definitely enjoyed that walk, thanks very much! My brother lives close to CVS and Ralph's grocery, very convenient. It's compact but all little yard signs are positive and uplifting. You make it so fun to tag along with you. Fun stuff to do at the club house. Very nice, clean and tidy. Glad it was open for viewing. You should be in real estate...good eye, kind comments, pointed out all kinds of interesting points. What is the with the pink flamingos? Is that a Palm Springs thing? A mobile home park thing? I’m from Australia, and I’m just curious about why people have them. They look very cool, and I really like them. I’m really enjoying your videos. I get to see part of the world from the comfort of my home. Thanks for doing these videos. You are very cool.
It's nice to see people taking pride in their properties in PS no matter where they live. The only thing that scares me about these mobile home parks is the close proximity. If one of those would catch on fire, the ones next to it would be affected as well.
What a small world. And yes, there are so many hidden in plain sight places like this that most of us never even see unless we just happen to be walking by. 😎👍
I love this park I’d like to know what the rent is? Very well maintained tk for sharing. Ok Steve I looked up the park on there web site park rent average is 600 to 900 a month. I guess it depends on the space. Hope this helps
I would imagine it was pretty common, lots of stars stayed in Palm springs seasonally and weekends, so this was likely a safer place from break ins that happened in house's
I can only imagine how hot those mobile homes get during summer. My presumption that when the place went in, the residents were mainly winter seasonal residents. I think that in certain cases that mobile homes are an affordable alternative to regular homes. But only if the lots are individually owned or of the park owner is in it for the very long term and won't rip off the customer on lot fees. No doubt that these are well tied down in the event of an earthquake or heavy winds. Looking at the recent hurricanes in Florida in how well many mobile homes withstood the wind damage. Might anyone know if the famous Malibu mobile home park still exists?
Hi Ken, all good points. One thing I’ve noticed about the mobile homes here in Palm Springs. Is that many of them build structures over the mobile home to shade them in the summer. I’m sure that must help quite a bit. I remember years ago hearing that actress Minnie Driver lived in the mobile home park overlooking the ocean near Malibu. That would be interesting to know if it’s still there. 🤔
Wow, that must have been a long time ago. I've never heard of that trailer park and I've never heard of a drive-in theater in Cat City! Thanks for sharing that desert history with us. When I Google both, neither even comes up as history! :-(
@@steveinpalmspringsca yea I cant find it either. I left in 1977 it was still there at that time. Desert Sun might have an old story on it. My mom worked at Gene Autry's hotel. There is or was an old hidden cave with a hot springs in it on the way to the aerial tram. Long pipe running on the side of the mountain. At the bottom of that pipe is a hole and the cave is in there.its on left side going up the mountain right side coming down. went skinny dipping a couple of times there. It was very different and very beautiful back then.
Hey Steve and viewers! If you find yourself short on time to watch Steve's longer videos in full, you can watch his videos at double speed and still enjoy them. Steve speaks at a moderate pace, so you won't miss a thing since he's still understandable when you increase the playback speed. Thanks Steve! 👍
Thanks for the tip! I've never heard of this before. I just Googled how to do it, but it says you do it on your phone. I don't watch videos on my phone. I cast them to my large screen TV. I will see if it works that way too. 👍
@@steveinpalmspringsca Same here, Steve. I rarely watch YT videos on my phone. Mainly on my laptop or with my tablet in bed. For anyone wondering, if you want to control playbeack speed (slower or faster): While watching a video just click on the gear symbol (lower right corner if viewing on YT website or upper right if using YT app). Then clcik on playback speed for options of how fast or slow. I find slow-mo very helpful when something goes by really fast and I want to get a better look. However, not sure how to control speed if casting to TV. I Iike to jump around alot on You Tube and find it too slow with navigation using a remote. BTW, I wonder if the residents in the trailer park are mainly snowbirds or year-round. It seems that with our intense heat in summers it might be difficult to stay cool in a trailer, or maybe not?
I used to live in a trailer park in my trailer Mom and I were owners well I was co owner until she moved out then died three years later but last time I was at trailer was Feb 27th 2021 the day I moved to Landmark . We moved from house I grew up in March of 1998 . I lived there almost 42 years . Trailer for like 22 or almost 23 years .
@@steveinpalmspringsca So have you found any other supporting facts that Della Reese actually lived there at 217 Mini HaHa! I googled stuff and it was indicated she only resided in Encino, so perhaps she bought it for a family member possibly! She was married to a Mr Lett so one of those mobiles might be a bit cramped ,at least the average sq ft of a 50's and 60' s model! Thnx for reading n replying to my comment! Keep up the great vlogs!

That is really helpful, thanks for sharing that information! 👍
I would imagine it was pretty common, lots of stars stayed in Palm springs seasonally and weekends, so this was likely a safer place from break ins that happened in house's
Parts of that Hall look like an old Quonset hut from World War II era. Neat.
Yes, exactly! :-)
Nice video! How's rehab coming along?
Yes, been good. I only have two weeks left. Thanks for asking Judy. 😄👍
Ramon Mobile Park is a 55+ older community located in central Palm Springs. The rental fees are generally between $600 and $900 depending on the space
Thanks for the update supermama 😄👍
I used to live in sage &sand trailer park on hwy 111 across from the sunrise drive in theater in cat city
I heard Pia Zadora lives there
No she lives in Summerlin in Nevada .
Wonder how much the lot rent is monthly there 🤔
If you look through the comments, dozens of viewers looked it up and shared it in the comments.
That’s what I want. Simple
It’s 55+ park steve
Thanks, Jerri, I noticed that on the flyer once I was home and started editing the video. I just didn’t see it while I was filming. 😄👍

Just looked it up it's $600 to $900 a month and it's a 55 plus park Steve.
Thanks for sharing that with us Dorothra! 😎👍
Space rent is $600 a month
Thanks Zoso!
Keep an eye out for tornados, floods, and murderers. They frequent mobile home parks haha.
😳😩
Dude u need go dr u out breath walking ..wow ..
@dorathrawalker. $600 -$900 gets you what? Does that cover just the lot rental in the mobihe park?
I can’t say for sure, but usually it is just a lot rent and maybe trash pick up and sometimes water.
Just got dishes done and got your invite to go walking. Surprised so many single wides. Have a great day.
Same to you, Dora 😎👍
