I learned this a while back (not all parts), and wow it opened up a whole new level of interest for me, just being able to play it gave me a huge kick :) I will digest your lesson here, which you teach fantastically well, as always. awesome job.. I looked back to the live performance at the Apollo in Glasgow.. and I still think Agnus is starting the riff after the 3 A chords on an upstroke octave A on the 2nd fret G string.. and you are right.. it throws the timing off as that note falls on "and"... much like HTH starts on an "and".. but I hear it ever so slightly.. wish i could slow that vid down as they have quick shots of Mal playing as well.. if they are starting with that A note .. my guess is that Mal plays the open A string instead as is the case with the brothers.. Love this album.. when listening to Down Payment Blues.. you can tell Angus has the hotter head and blackback celestions that are brittle and punchy, while Mal has his old faithful heads or superbass through the softer greenbacks.. love playing that one and listening for those differences.. I purchased my G6131MY during covid used and was the best thing I ever did.. LOVE that guitar.. just has the vibe..

    • @malpractice5904
      @malpractice5904  2 года назад +1

      Thanks BJ. It definitely could be there. When I listen to the isolated track and think there is that A note in there. I hear that. The when I listen and think it’s not there I don’t hear it. Crazy!! Anyway glad your enjoying that guitar. Great instrument indeed!

    There's a reason I've shy'd away from ever trying to learn this one. There's a Hell of a lot going on in there and it's all played so damn quickly. Yikes! 😄 thanks for laying all these parts down, it's gonna be a work in progress, but I'll get there eventually. You nailed this! I just wish my stubby little fingers could move as fast. Another great lesson brother, much obliged.

      Hey Z. I had trouble with this one for years. The key for me is to think about stopping the main riff on that 5th fret on the d string and then finishing it off. Instead of trying to play it through. It helped me play it more smoothly. Kinda breaking it up. Even tho it’s only 2 more notes. Keep practicing you’ll get it!

    Hey Mal Practice, I need to ask, how do you get your original AC/DC songs as backing tracks through RUclips Content ID? All of my AC/DC covers got blocked worldwide, and I was doing the same you are? what is the secret? I just redid my Live at Donington "Hell Ain't A Bad Place To Be" as a test, blocked worldwide again. I had the songs running for years, I assume once they flag your channel you are doomed? I appreciate your accuracy, Mal sig Gretsch, JTM 45, and correct amount of distortion!
