They were mostly experimental and unstable. Designed to generate a lot
of money for greedy aviation companies. Only a handful of designs by Fokker or Sopwith were reliable and the whole concept of Zeppelins were lethal inflammatory death-traps

Yeah, but it's better and more realistic with a joystick.

No but it was faster and could dive a lot better. The DH2 lost height quickly turning hard so at low altitudes it lost that advantage.
