Yes, If you were to investigate the cars' chassis numbers and race history, you'll find they were original cars built and raced in period. Some of the cars in the race were pretty significant examples as well.
In period, most race cars were one-offs or factory-built race cars made in small numbers. The Bugatti Type 35, and its later update the 51 were made in hundreds. They were fast, and you could actually buy them.
I know they are grown men...but racing these cars is incredibly dangerous. I think the cars should have the basic mods to keep the drivers alive. At least a roll bar.
many thanks to the owners for letting these cars be raced and not stuck in museums
huge risk but appreciated
Nice to see these lovely old cars being properly driven 👍🇬🇧
I love this channel, Great coverage of the races and the commentary is perfect. The cars ain't bad either.
The cars ain't bad? You don't say.
OMG OMG That race... that cars... I love this ...
Tolle Bilder 👍.... Danke dafür!!!
I nearly can’t believe what I see here.. Whatever I usually think about people with too much money I admire the guts and go shown here.
21:12 and the enthusiasm of the flag guy is amazing!

Obligatory "F1 Could Learn A Few Lessons From This" Comment
Would it be fair to say that most of these cars are worth more than a million dollars or so?
Dwight Brown I think it would be fair to say that most of these cars are almost priceless- the ones that aren’t are TENS of millions, not a million.

Looks like 2/3 of the grid are Bugattis
That is because you can buy a brand new replica that is period correct. A real Bugatti 35 would be far too expensive to race I think
@@Charon58 No. These are all real.

Bad comment, only names!! More about the cars.
Then look them up
Why the alfa romeo have the Scuderia Ferrari logo in the side?
Ferrari ran the Alfa racing department back in the 1920s & 1930s before leaving and setting up his own company.
No roll bars ? Gulp !
You ARE the roll bar!

If the drivers want to stay alive, they shouldn't crash ,yes?😘
@@Charon58 impossible. Bar would be stronger than the chassis
@@dudleybarber7199 No one races intending to crash. But they still do, yes?
Charles...what a plonker
