    Hi Dez! Here’s my take: if you have the money to spend on a pricey cashmere sweater and you love it, then go for it! You just lit up wearing them and talking about those 2 sweaters!
    Absolutely love your cozy winter style!❤️

      Thanks Tina! I do get excited when I find something I love. But I promise not to buy any more *slaps wrist 😉 It's very chilly here in London this week so cashmere is my go-to right now! Happy Thursday❤️❤️❤️

    For me £295 is too much to pay for a sweater, even if it is cashmere. However, if you can afford it go for it. Everything looked very cosy and comfortable, which is right up my street.❤

    Hi Dez, I think our “style” is the same. Unlike you, I don’t think I take the time to refresh my wardrobe enough. I do prefer casual clothes for my lifestyle and I like them to be comfortable. I love the cashmere jumpers but they do usually make me itch. I definitely need to update my leggings. I don’t know what brand I want, I want a high waist. I have spent too much on several pieces in the past! Great choices. I need to check out Quince! Mona ❤

      Thanks Mona! Comfort is an absolute non-negotiable - I'm sure we all spent time in our younger days tottering about in heels - and lying down on the bed trying to do our zips up 😱 - thankfully those days have long gone ❤️

    Yes, I think over 200 quid is a lot for cashmere - but if the quality is good, and you are happy - why not? With the proliferation of cashmere available at the moment, at so many different price points, it is easy to fall into the trap of thinking they are all the same quality. Not so! I have purchased Quince, at the very good price of $50, but have to say they pill easily, and the finish of the seams is really skimpy. I have a cashmere jumper that I got for my 50th birthday, so 27 years ago, and it is fantastic - no pilling, quite thick, and sooooo soft (it is Scottish cashmere). Just this week Macy's, one of the big department stores in the US, was having a sale on its in house cashmere brand, Charter Club, and I bought a cashmere hoodie to see how it stacked up. Bonus is that it comes in petite too, which at barely 5'1" is very important for fit. I am really impressed - the finish, the softness, the thickness, the seams - all top notch, and this was under $50. It arrived yesterday and I immediately went back on line and ordered a crew neck and a v- neck. Just thought your US viewers should be aware . Will give those Good American jeans a try - they sound good. Like the lighter hair, too!

      Agree, I used to love Brora - they are a Scottish brand. Thank you for the tip re Macy's - wish I'd gone upstairs now when I visited the store in NYC 😉 - and thanks re hair - I am pleased with it ❤️

    Hi sweet Dez. I'm so with you. I need warm and cozy in the cold months.
    I've never had Good American jeans, but I like the way they fit you. I don't see a tummy on you! I love the oversized cardigan with the jeans.
    Great gray marked crew neck sweater and the wide pants.
    Unfortunately, I can't wear cashmere. My skin is so sensitive that even really good cashmere makes me itch.
    Navy blue is definitely your color.
    I'm a big fan of the front tuck. It gives me a waist that has disappeared.
    Great choices. For me, $295 is definitely too much for a cashmere sweater, but I'm glad that you're loving yours. Big hugs, my sweet friend. 💖💖🫂🫶😊

      I know, it's way too much - I won't buy any more at that price, I promise! Interestingly, re Good American, there was an article by a fashion journalist in the London Times yesterday who's plus size, and she recommended Good American as a brand, so they do cater for those of us with tums - plus size or not. What do you wear to keep warm as you can't wear wool? Hugs to you too, dearest Rene - we need them to keep warm 🥶❤️❤️❤️

      @beautybydez my darling, it's your money. Spend it as you wish! I layer, and wear cotton or a cotton polyester blend sweater.
      We're actually due for a bit of snow here tomorrow. I'm hoping it doesn't come to fruition. And I definitely need to try the Good American jeans, even though I can't stand the Kardashians!😅

    I agree, in winter, i want to be warm, cosy and comfortable, the latest trend is right down the bottom of my list, fashionable is good, in season, colour code of the year...the style of the season....but absolute Trends that are gone again next year...nope... my budget doesn't cater to that (well, no more than maybe one top that will give me that pop of colour and latest trend) as for buying a whole season of latest trends...I don't go there, these clothes end up in landfill....😢😢

    Hi Dez - great video as usual! I have a quick question. I’m really curious why few influencers these days mention buying cashmere sweaters from heritage UK brands such as Pringle, Johnston’s, William Lockie, N Peal, etc. Have they stopped producing, have prices skyrocketed, has quality declined, or is it something else? I have vintage cashmere sweaters from these brands that are still in perfect condition even though they were thrifted and are in many cases quite old. Do you know? I always laugh when people insist that all cashmere pills because none of mine pill. Just curious. 😊

    • @beautybydez
      @beautybydez  День назад +1

      Thank you, and interesting you should mention those heritage brands - was thinking about N Peal when I responded to Fiona below. N Peal used to be v expensive but I haven't looked at it lately. Pringle I associate, perhaps unfairly, with golfing jumpers 😉 Good to hear they don't pill. I wonder if the processes have changed over the years and they are not as rigorous as they once were.

    • @drinab3430
      @drinab3430 День назад

      @ Hi Dez - I am no expert, but based on what I’ve read the process of producing cashmere has changed. Basically, most cashmere is now over processed during the milling (washing) process so that it’s soft and fluffy when you buy it because consumers prefer that and think that’s how it’s supposed to be. In the old days Scottish cashmere wasn’t scratchy but it wasn’t super soft when you bought it - it became softer over time. I will never forget an Everlane cashmere I once had (bought new) which I finally gave away because it pilled excessively. If I used a depiller I would end up with piles of fluff and a sweater that looked nice for maybe one or two wears. 😂 Ugh. Sadly I do think many heritage brands like Pringle are no longer made the same way so I’m guessing they may now pill too….

    I think cost of items is relative to income. In a year when I was feeling flush I bought my OH a joint birthday and Christmas gift of a cashmere hoodie from Ted Baker which was £250 but it's beautiful. Would I spend that on me right at this moment -no.

    • @beautybydez
      @beautybydez  3 дня назад

      Completely agree - it's a ridiculous spend, I know, but I will get so much wear out of them and they fit my body so well - but you're right. Uniqlo do great cashmere, particularly the men's.
