Appreciate the comparison and the Venu 3 content. Nice review. However, the much better Garmin battery is a big deal. And, while I would agree that the Apple Watch is a much better smartwatch, I wouldn't necessarily call the Venu 3 a SLIGHTLY better fitness watch. I think it's a lot better. While both watches have industry-leading accuracy in their sensors, Garmin does a much better job of utilizing the information the watch collects. A lot of that has to do with how much better the Garmin app is than the Apple Health app. And, even though both watches have many activities, Garmin actually collects and shows activity-specific data in many more activities than Apple. For example, something like Yoga, Garmin shows HR, stress change, respiration rate, estimated sweat loss, total poses, time of poses, etc. Apple is simply HR and calories burned. The same for running, cycling, rowing, etc. With Apple, with the exception of running and a bit with cycling, all of the activities are simply labelling - there's no activity specific data. Plus, all of this is captured in one app. You don't need a bunch of third party apps like Apple. All of this provides a vastly superior fitness tracking experience from Garmin.

I totally agree with you and thanks for the many informations. Garmin Venu 3 definitely does a better job in the sport section and what it does with it

I would agree. I have just returned my Apple Watch Ultra 2 and purchased a Venu 3. I have always held back on getting an Apple Watch due to the poor battery life and the fact that it can't really monitor sleep tracking etc. However, I hoped the Ultra 2 would be suitable for this but wasn't fully aware how poor Apple Health is as an app and the collection of data (or lack of). Although the battery life is reasonable on the Ultra 2 it falls well short against Garmin when it come to the fitness functions and is more suited to someone who wants a smart watch with some basic fitness functions. Clearly, the Apple Watch 9, which is a similar price to the Venu 3, has the same failings as the Ultra, and the associated Apple Heath app, but can't also provide any sleep monitoring etc due to it's poor battery life

@@richardstreet2104actually the sleep tracking from what I’ve heard is like the best you can get nearly, from the seven up anyway. At least according to people who work in that field and have tested it.

@2:51 your ECG appears to be flipped upside down on the apple watch. Make sure to go into Settings > General > orientation and tell the watch which arm you are wearing it on.

Hello, I'm new to the Garmin world and enjoying the Venu 3 thus far!
I've noticed that with the default 'wear on left' the buttons are oriented towards your hand/wrist bone, which can result in accidental presses when weight training with gloves on, etc. I think I might have seen somewhere that other watches in the Garmin line allow for an orientation adjustment- essentially flipping the watchface 180 degrees and placing the buttons on the elbow side (like the default for a right wrist wearer).
Is this possible on the Venu, and if so, how?? Thanks!

Thank you for taking the time to compare these two watches. It seems that the Apple Watch may be better suited for my GF while the Garmin may be better suited for my needs. Your video was very helpful in comparing the two.

I can’t get a good reading here on what’s better actually as I feel like people will say whatever is contrary to the expected thing sometimes. Like if one thing is really famous they’ll say they like the other because it’s like the contrary less expected answer. It’s like liking the cool niche band or whatever. I don’t know why people do that but it makes it hard to judge how accurate their perspective is in the comments.

Good job on the review. It would be great if you commented on the quality and defects of both watches. You should update this video to point out that the new apple watch watch will be removed from market due to the patent poaching that apple did.

    • @GH-ic4ll
      @GH-ic4ll 6 месяцев назад

The watch will not be removed. The feature will now be disabled in the watch. If this feature was your reason to purchase the watch, maybe, there will be some type of compensation regarding its removal.

I never owned Garmin, but with the release of Venu 3 got my eye on It. Everybody says that Venu 3 has less smart functions than Galaxy watch and Apple, but nobody says which ones . Could somebody explain what smart functions, that people daily use, Garmin doesnt have? I mean really useful, not animations or other embellishments.

I use galaxy watches for years and I ask what features people is lacking. Not me, but people, who own Garmin.

I think it's simply hard to say, most people own either or, not both so they don't know for certain. With Garmin, it's largely you get what you see. There is limited third app support. With the exception of the Venu there is no mic or speaker in Garmin watches, usually there is no LTE on Garmin watches, so a phone is required for notifications and calls. Responding to a text is limited to Android, and even then it's limited to a selection of prewritten responses. I suppose with the Venu you can use your digital assistant to respond that way generally speaking however, texting on your watch is not happening.
I don't own a Venu, I own a Fenix which is even further removed from a "smartwatch" than the Venu is. There are no apps for my Fenix for my smart devices, for example. I can not turn on my lights with it. The Venu gets around that by granting you access to your phones Assistant, but a native app on the watch currently does not exist, and it's the only watch in garmins line up that gives you access to the assistant that way.
Garmin watches, since they lack LTE, can not stream music, they can only control your phone or play music that has been downloaded on to the watch if it is a model capable of that.
That said, I have never owned a Galaxy watch and my Garmin experience comes from their Fenix line, which is an outdoor focused watch with bare minimum smart features, what I know of their other watches is largely from reviews like this.

Gw4 could connect to google maps, had a record function, could measure your body condiitions like bodyfat, Google pay which more popular than garmin pay, could use google fit which had a huge range of sports list and some google metrics which is a bit like garmins weekly itensity minutes of 150, ECG and Bloodpressure measureing These are the differences in finctionality i realised.
But i go with venu3 the other things are not important to me, cause garmin has much better calorie steps counting and heartrate sensors. It is the much better sports watch. also because of HRV status.

I have both Apple Watch Ultra and just got the Venu3 after using the Venu3. It's miles above Apple and Android as far as fitness. I'm a runner and my VO2 Max was way off with the Apple Watch Ultra. It's truly fitness focused with smartwatch capabilities. I haven't taken the Venu 3 off since I got it. Going to sell my Apple Watch. Smart phone features lacking are seamless integration with notifications and interactions. Text messaging and calling are better on the Apple Watch and Android. There is no LTE option either so you need to be by your phone to get notifications. In my opinion, the features of fitness far exceed the lack of smart watch features as to why I'm selling my Apple watch and keeping the Garmin.
