    I came from an Apple Watch 8. Currently, I have the Venu 2+, but I will definitely be trading it in for the Venu 3. Nothing compares to Garmin, and even though I am an iPhone user, I will NEVER go back to the Apple Watch. Garmin is just that much of an improvement

      For sure, but if you have a Venu 2+, might be worth waiting to see if they have any black Friday deals...

    • @AspieStingrayLover
      @AspieStingrayLover 10 месяцев назад

      @@misstornton3848 the battery life on Garmin is miles ahead of any Apple Watch. I can be quite forgetful at times (which I attribute - in part - to me being on the autism spectrum), and this is a BIG problem with the Apple Watch. You HAVE TO charge the Apple Watch every night, or every other night in the best case scenario. Otherwise, the watch WILL run out of battery. With the Garmin, the watch can last about a week average before you need to charge it (with always on display turned off). Therefore, it’s become a routine - something that is very helpful for me - to put the watch on the charger each Sunday morning. Plus, being able to track naps in addition to regular sleep is pretty useful as well. And lastly, as a more personal thing . . . I barely used any of the third party apps on my Apple Watch. And the native Apple apps were not really used much either, so the Apple Watch, over time, became a glorified fitness tracking device. Seeing this as a waste of money and product, I switched to Garmin after a brief - and abysmally negative - experimental experience with Fitbit. I get all of the fitness tracking abilities and none of the c**p I won’t use anyways, all in a really nice, battery efficient, and decidedly premium device. Needless to say, I’m satisfied.

      for me, Garmin offers extensive data if you have a much more active lifestyle, for example weightlifting, and even though apple watch is much more accurate regarding the hr, their battery is less powerful compared to garmin, you need to charge your watch every night. @@misstornton3848

    Nice review. I'm an Iphone user but like rugged G shock type watches, so I bought a Garmin Instinct 2 Solar Tactical. So far so good and I'm loving my first ever smart watch. My Wife is also an Iphone under and I wanted to buy her a watch for her birthday, which is in Oct. I waited for the Apple event and was not really that impressed with the Series 9. My main gripe is battery life as usual with Apple. The Garmin Venu series really seems to hit the spot. This new Venu 3 looks like the one for her. Shes not a runner, but we do go hiking and it would be an all-round general watch. My Sister is a runner and she really likes her Forerunner. I agree that Garmin really are at the top of the game. Apple are very accurate with their sensors, but battery life is such a let down.

However, Apple keeps adding new features, the heart rate monitor is one of the best on a smartwatch, and the GPS is pretty accurate. Hahaha! For sure. This Venu 3 seems to bring most of what the $1000+ Garmins bring. Perhaps just not in a titanium shell.

    The Samsung watch looks sooo much better though. Unfortunately, the battery life is unbearable and the data analysis lacking.

    A bit disappointed they stuck with their proprietary charger.

      Yes, for me it's OK since I've been a long time Garmin user. And....you don't have to charge it very often.

    Spotify will not sync my music. I am so pissed off! It sees my playlists but it will NOT sync the music onto the watch.

      You have a Venu 3?

      @@SammyGeekI have the Venu 3 and I’m having the same problem with Spotify. I also can’t get Komoot to work either. If these don’t work I’ll have to return my Venu 3. The watch syncs with my iPhone.

      I'm on a forerunner and getting the venu later for my gf. But, if you launch music from the watch what's it's doing from that menu?

      @@chriscotton4207great question! After a full reset and several re-installs of Garmin IQ I got Spotify to install and work. I’m still planning on returning it next week. I basically spent two days trouble shooting why the advanced connective features weren’t working. I still can’t get the Komoot app to exist/function on the watch.

      Good question! I don't use that app, but I bet it would. I might have to test it.

    here's a tip, when you do reviews of watches, maybe put the display to allways on.... just sayin

    • @emin74
      @emin74 11 месяцев назад +2

      I believe even if the always on display is active, watches know when they are not on the wrist and turn off the display

      I had the Garmin set to low brightness....I'm a dummy for that. I'm going to make another follow up video soon, and I'll fix my lighting and brightness. Yep, they were on AOD, but they turn off when not on the wrist. 😞
