One thing I really like about Jamila is that she always leaves room for individual taste and personality, and her advice always feels not only gentle and friendly, but also doable. Like she doesn't say "you have to wear this or else" but just gives gentle general advice on overall guidelines and then encourages you to adapt it. I also like that she isn't ashamed to say she'd had something for nine years and worn it a lot. I feel like most women wouldn't dare say that but there's not wrong with it, after all, clothes should last many years. So thank you for another wonderful video Jamila! I love your perspective and warm friendly feeling.
I agree with everything in your comment. I am not afraid to wear my favorite pieces over and over for many years. In fact, some of my favorite dresses are hand-me-downs from my mom, who can no longer wear them. She is happy that I can proudly wear her dresses, which she bought at exclusive boutiques in NYC before I was born, at any time. I get compliments when I wear her old dresses. They have been holding up for more than fifty years. Unfortunately, I am appalled by the quality of clothes in general these days. The lesson is to take care of your favorite clothes. 👗👠💕
I do not have fancy clothes, but I got lovely dresses and skirts I have not been wearing for a decade because I gotten to big of a girl, but will wear them once I drop enough weight. I love them enough it will take the place of buying new clothes. I got new dresses last year and this year that I can still wear once I hit my goal of losing 90 to 95 pounds because the largest dress is XL, though a couple dresses I might got to let go because them being XXL. My XL may be a little loose, but that can be solved it need it be. So very glad you got your mother's dresses. I wish I had my mother's sun dresses she had in the, say late '80s or early '90s. I do not remember them that great buy I bet they were lovely. I wish I still have two dresses I had growing up. Dunno if I can would fit into them again as I was 95 in junior high and 100 in HS. My goal weight is 110 or 105. I did finally get an evening gown last week or two. It is pure white. Now trying to get another one. This one being a darker color. I may never make it to a formal party, but I still want something dressy as if I was in the urban instead of rural, I'd be semi to fully dressy most or all days of the week.
I love that she got something she wears from nearly a decade ago. That will be me one day, as for me personally, I cannot find my style hardly in 2020s. I wish I can time travel, and get stuff from the '90s until mid '10s.
FINALLY my long time question is answered : what is a cocktail dress. Thank you, it was something that was making anxious whenever I had to dress to go somewhere with that particular dress code!
You are the epitome of elegance in each and every one of these lovely outfits. Fabulous taste and wonderful, informative content on demystifying dress codes!
My normal style is really punk rock and I appreciate this guide! I am attending a cocktail-dress coded award ceremony for my husband and his coworkers and I was nervous considering my unusual hair and wardrobe options but I feel confident to clean up quite nicely for this event now! Thank you!
Your channel is a pure goldmine. Great series, looking forward to rest of the videos. Most of us aren't exposed to etiquette knowledge in depth and until I watched your videos, I did not realise how important and how much of a difference even little things make. Thankyou Jamila. P.S.Red look is my fav., Gives femme fatale vibes
Would you be open to making a video on the etiquette of garden parties? I have seen too many women ruining the lawn (and their anckles) with their high heels, they didn't know they should have worn wedges or flats.
More videos on dress codes!😍😍 Maybe also with mentions of cultural differences between the major western etiquette styles (french, english, and american)
I really like that your outfits are timeless and classic. You even mentioned buying few of them 3 7 years ago and you wear them from time to time. It's very practical and doable, unlike fashionista who buy things on trend and throw them away after one or two time uses.
I love the red dress the most! I liked the second black one too, I think that company is really good. I love the change in make-up, it really changes the 'mood' of the dress. The dress with the arm sleeve things would really work well with with some nice jewellery!
Absolutely stunning! My favourite are the first and the red one. Next video could be an update on your spring skincare routine. Thanks for sharing this wonderful content 🙏🏻🌷
Thank yu, I really enjoy your channel. I'm learning slowly how to be an etiquette young woman. It takes time to watch all your videos, but it is worth the time. I adored everything yu had on..
Dear Jamila, this was a very informative video. When/If I'm invited to a cocktail dress code event, I will now have the confidence to attend, knowing the best sort of outfit I need to wear. I adored the red dress you wore. Very stylish. Cocktail dress code has now been demystified, maybe you could explain what a casual smart dress code means. Thank you for all the information, I look forward to your next video 🐼🐼
Since prom season is coming up what are approiate dresses hair styles accessories. Hairstyles on all the functions I have listed.I loves all the classy dresses you have shown in this video for cocktail parties
Thank you for sharing your knowledge with us @Jamila Musayeva, I love the White dress, Black dress with feathers and the navy blue dress looks very classy and elegant. Hello from old subscriber ♥️♥️♥️
I personally liked the dark navy dress ❤️🌹 it looks amazing on you , can u please make a video on eating fruits and desserts etiquette it will be so interesting to watch ❤️
I am attending a military awards ceremony/dinner and the dress code is cocktail. The dress I have is beautiful, but I'm now wondering if it is appropriate. It is a black, one shoulder [thicker strap, not spaghetti] that comes down just past my knees. It has a very simple/ elegant tulle rouching so the dress is slightly textured. It is form-fitting with a slight flair around the knees. Do you think this is too much of a "social" cocktail dress? Active-duty Marines are to dress in their Alphas, while civilians are to dress in "Business or Cocktail Attire." I'm so confused!
Good information! I travel a few times a year for events and parties with both formal and cocktail dress codes. Any chance you could create a video on how best to transport dresses, jewelry and shoes?
Thank you for mentioning how it is different from white tie. Somewhere I heard ( I might be confusing it with something else) that the way to differentiate day time and evening dresses is that the later is made of shiny fabric. Am I thinking of the right thing? Thank you.

Loved this. What would you wear to the Four Seasons for an early lunch? Would it be the same as for dinner? Dress code is smart casual. Help
Depends on the weather but could be a nice pair of pants with a blouse or a blazer or a knee length dress.

Please do a video on black toe Vs white tie dress code
Please do provide some tips on lipstick colour etiquette. For instance, which colour should be opted for during daytime events.
Lighter- day time, brighter- evening. But with fashion these rules have become somewhat more blurry.

My daughter (13) and her friends are wearing nice sneakers to cocktail parties with their party dresses….Golden Goose, Nike Air Force, Vera etc
That’s nice. So does my 7 year old daughter ☺️
Does heel height and color still apply to cocktail at night? For example, are low white heels best for daytime?
