    Really appreciate the review, it’s been so helpful for people who’s looking to buy a jeep grand Cherokee….

    I’ve had 3 Grand Cherokees. 1998, 2002, and my [current] 2011. They are generally reliable if maintained at least to factory specs, but I follow the more comprehensive heavy dusty maintenance schedule for better coverage. A lot of people seem to be oblivious to maintenance beyond oil changes. Changing all fluids with OEM fluids every 30K - 60K seems to be the key. My 2011 has been very reliable and I’d buy it again, but I’m wanting a WL, which is why I’m here listening to your video. Thank you for your time. I did replace the oil filter housing preventively, but it was a $200 kit and took me a solid afternoon - evening. I used OEM gaskets. Get the Dorman version if you upgrade yours, but use OEM gaskets, torque specs, torque sequences, etc. It does require some special tools for tight spaces.

      I think my 2014 had the oil filter housing cracked before I got it at 34k miles lol. My WL doesn’t seem to leak from there and I always use a torque wrench on the filter canister

    Have you ever thought of doing oil analysis with Blackstone? Maybe comparing different oils? I really like your long term vids like the fluid film/surface shield stuff.

      Most of the name brand oils perform pretty similarly and you can’t go wrong with any of them really. Thanks! I like providing long term info for people, the short term stuff doenst really give you any useful info

    For starters, I'd be having that oil changed every 5-7K miles instead of 10.

    thank you for this video. I am shopping for a 2024 GCL and getting nervous with all the bad reviews I see online. putting it in perspective that it is probably a small % of the total ownership that will have issues is reassuring.

    Had a 2014 gc for 10 years, 108k miles, and had AC issues every single year, they patched it instead of fixing it under warranty. I finally replaced the AC compressor out of warranty and this is the first year the AC worked after a winter.

      All companies do that but honestly we bought Volkswagen Jetta and vw dealers we found most honest out of all never they tried to trick us over charge us lie always honored what they offer never paid a penny for recalls or anything else and I drove that car to 2020.000 km and replaced engine for 1800$ Canadian with only 80k on it and still driving it after 9 years only since then since I owned it replaced small cheap parts most myself was super easy to work with
      But I never trusted Volkswagen but after 9 years driving the hell out of Jetta for me is the most reliable car even better then Honda I had
      So driving the sht out of it after 9 years head gasket blew after 220000 km I just replaced the whole engine for 1800 with buying it and cost to replace with 80k on it I can't complain still driving this Jetta
      The only issue is cars too expensive now even the new atlas SUV top trim is 65k plus tax plus finance you paying 80k even low trim is 50k which shouldn't be
      Most cars in Canada are way over priced even Hyundai SUVs top trim going for 65k lol plus tax finance 80k that's ridiculous
      I think these car companies are losing their customer base most companies marking their cars as luxury even when they aren't even close to luxury

    So I just changed my oil on 2024 WL with Pennzoil Ultra Platinum 0w20 5 qt with Mopar MO349 filter. The engine seems to be a bit louder especially when the oil temperature is below 190F. Not ticking but more of a rumble like diesel. Do you ever hear anything similar? Oil pressure is 30 psi during normal running and spike when it is above 3500 rpm. No other issue.

    • @KurtofTrades
      @KurtofTrades  4 месяца назад +1

      I think that’s just how the exhaust sounds, it’s a little rumblier than the previous generation all the v6s have dual exhaust now

    • @f4nyang
      @f4nyang 4 месяца назад

      Thanks! I agree. I took a sample for the oil for Blackstone oil analysis and now waiting for the result. Partially I believe it could be the factory fill is the Pennzoil Gold which is more of a synthetic blend that muffled the sound.

  • @jakey20022
    @jakey20022 Месяц назад

    That is strange about the brakes. It is always the front brakes wear more than the rear brakes .

    • @JBLynch

      I had that problem with a 2008 Honda Element, only it was the rear brakes that had constant wear. Pissed me off.

    But honestly our of all manufactures vw i would trust most in canada their dealers i found few i went to very honest and straight forward thats my experience
    Again only issue is the prices i cant buy a car i like because they are so expensive richt now for 30k 40k canadian you will buy most basic suv and you still paying tax finance fees dealer bs fees and you end up over 55k for a dam super amall basic suv

    I love the GC. This is my 4th one. 23 Overland, 4XE. Love the car all around, however DO NOT lease or buy the 4XE. IMO, its horrible. The 4 cyl Turbo is a crime on this car. Picking up speeds, this block is loud and sounds terrible for such a quite car. Second, the gas/EV combo is crap!!! The transition between them has a baddddd delay and it makes the car very lazy. On the EV side, you must get level 2 charger. Level 1 takes FOREVER to charge on getting 28 miles charge in the Summer time, 24-25 Winter time. Not worth it to me. I will NEVER lease one again. This car MUST have V6 or V8....period. Maybe the new V6 Hurricane Turbo will make up for this garbage. Overall, the rest of the car is fantastic. Its a Range Rover for the poor among us.
