Why do you not set the soft clipper to the specific track? I imagine each mix has a slightly different output level so just turning it to -2.5 or whatever will give a different result each time
@@devs1980 I think it's an average estimate. That being said, it's up to us how we adjust it.
need a sample of your beat on RUclips
“slightly more ass” 😂 thank you
Lmfao that hit different. Just a smidge, A tad more ass 😅
Thought it was funny too 😂😂
Lol
😂
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🔥
I tried this and it was damn near similar to my main mastering chain. But it's less plugins. Overall this was a dope quick tip.
Buy why use patcher instead of just putting it directly on the master
Facts, your mix has to sound crisp though 👁️👁️
💯
Bro just fixed my entire problem with mixing in a short 💀
👑 you dropped this my guy
🙏🤝
Dude this is amazing. I use Ozone, but you can do the SAME THING with FL stock plug-ins. That's awesome. Keep making videos man!!!
Bro he said slightly more ass I’m at work in the bathroom and I instantly started crying laughing in the stall 😭😭
Mixing might be the hardest part but with practice improvements come
Mastering is def harder because it has more rules. Mixing is more of the creative side of things.
Very helpful!
I've been struggling to get a loud master, and this fixed it.
Def needed this
Glad I could help homie 🙏🙏
Just came to check in and leave this comment to say, this has been my go to formula and I continue to use it. Thanks Chu
My pleasure homie. And thank you for going thru the effort to come back just to say that. I appreciate your support. Blessings to you 🙏🤝
This is sacred knowledge right here dude
wow first time in a while a tutorial that actually worked thanks man
this one make my mix more louder without gaining more db on the master
thanks a lot
🔥😎🤝
Thank you so much this has helped a ton 🙏🏻
Super cool
Merci beaucoup thanks you very much for this tutorial Big up from France
My pleasure, thank you so much for your support!
This shit a 💎 🔥
Thank you sir! Keep it up!
Thanks Chu!
You saved my sanity
Glad to help
I guess I’m a bit confused as to why you’re using patcher for this? I get that saves effects slots on the channel but outside of that ur not doing any sort of complex routing or do u do this just save it as a patcher preset? It’s good to see someone on here who’s not slamming their soft clippers and limiters for once because loudness comes from the mix. Keep up the good work
I just like doing it that way. and thanks man
This knowledge is not only for beats, it is actually helpfull for other genres! thx!
I tell you one thing with the patcher with kick and any low sounds
Make a normal line , nothing in that
And another line with eq , cut all up to 500 ,
make 2 line ,
one take in a multiband with the preset noisy neighbors
The other with maximus with preset trasparent
Unite it in fruit chorus an take the preset fat clean
Put off lfo and increase depth to 3 ms put stereo to 90 or 60
And make a line to output
With chorus and maximus
Adjust volume of that 3 line
GOOOOOOOD !!!
thanks bro
Personally I wouldn’t use fruity limiter as it squashes transients honestly Maximus is way better for that same purpose
Finally someone said it. Saturation brings some of those back in the limiter, but honestly the best way to go is a maximizer.
The mastering also depends on the mix and is therefore individual for each song

I have a cuestión where you add the peacher . add you on the Chanel rack on in the mixer side
Hey Chu, i got a question, when artist hops on your beat, is it better if he just hops on mixed beat and master it with vocals after or to master the beat and then vocals separately ?
Good question, I need an answer to this too
I would master it w the vocals after
is there a difference using patcher to do this vs the master channel
is patcher on the master?
tysm mann
My pleasure homie
Why the eq looks different on video after You talked about it ?
Does this mastering tutorial with FL Studio stock plugins only work with dance music?
Do u do this with all your beats or the majority of them? I gotta look at Patcher cuz idk how to use it tho.
It has a bunch of cool presets. It’s a really fun plugin.
What is….”crunch”?
Doesn’t this not make it more quiet?
🍅
What’s the diff between using patcher and just using the mixer for those plug ins???
What does threshold do?
All the signal that goes over the threshold will be effected by the clipper in this case. Works the same for ever plugin that have a threshold like a compressor or a gate.
Example:
If you have a sound that peak at 1dB and your threshold is at 0dB only the sound over 0db will be effected by the plugin.
Will not do anything with the sound below 0db 😘
So I used fl and I love that limiter plugin but I’m in Ableton now and is there a plugin that has kinda this same set up with the visuals too?
The stock limiter? It's perfect as it is, you don't need that fancy stuff.
While the super low sub isn't needed usually, if you make hard dance or techno you might wanna not do that
Obv don't have your sub clipping
@@yuxanne. I would always recommend 20 hurts or more on every genre and mix
Could I apply this to individual instruments and vocals during mixing?
I wouldn't
ayoo thx
Can i master a song with this too?, not only beat right?
🔥💯
Can i just add these plugins on the master channel ? Or do you have to patch it together like you did in this vid ? Many thanks
you can add them to the master and do it that way. In my opinion it's less complicated and serves the same purpose.
Wish there was a better way to save shorts
Same tbh, it I heard they are working on it
Crunch? What does that mean?
Dictionary
Supper
Is this what you do with every beat regardless of genre ... surely not
Honestly the only thing I'd recommend from this video is the 20hz cut.
@@prod.hallow only do that if the eq has a linear phase mode, otherwise you might be fucking up the low-end of your mix
Is Fl Studio Fruity supposed to have demo plug-ins such as sytrus and harmor? For $100 seems like the only difference between the free demo and Fruity is the ability to save projects.
Forgot to set the EQ in linear phase mode
It doesn't show LIN because he didn't click the arrow that shows the option. It could be enabled
does anybody kno wht turning off the noise gate knobs do?
💪💪💪💪
🙏
personally
Why patcher?
It let me buildout the chain as a console, sort of like Ozone
@@ChuTheCreator ahhhhhh interesting
This dude got no idea what he’s talking about
thanks for watching tho
@@joeproyaknow Exactly lol Chu's beats always sound amazing when it comes to his mixes
@@joeproyaknow the leveling in the mix is good but there's a lot of resonances in his mixes and they sound boxy as well
Last step I use Maxiums - it's a much better limiter!
Good step by step though!
Just put God Particle on the master channel

The thing ab cutting frequencies under 25hz isn’t true, humans literally cannot hear those frequencies and it doesn’t matter whether you eq them or not
but speakers can output them. Speakers can only output so many frequencies and that's why it matters.
Lowkey though when I mess around with cutting around 30 it always slightly changes the sound of the 808 sample. Sometimes it sounds worse when cut
@@Imnotbink Could be the eq also slightly cutting hearable frequencies
@@ChuTheCreator That’s not true lmfao
@@Imnotbink it might because your eq isn’t set to linear phase
I use Parametric EQ 2 in FL and on the bottom of the plugin there’s a button that says “LIN”. I turn this on usually for any instrument thats focused on the sub region as to prevent phasing.

👍
Make sure your cutting below 25Hz and not just bringing it down to make sure nothing gets through
sauce
what do I do once I hear the damn crunch lol

On md it’s way easier
yessssssssssssssssssssss
Pro tip: Dont. Get the fab-filter bundle
Dot
I'm lost 🙄
Not sure what he means by a chain. Why not just put all these on your master channel.
Bro giving clipper settings as if the numbers are universal smh
lmao
DIS NOGHA USES PATCHER 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭
thanks for watching doe
@@ChuTheCreator ofc g love ur channel I just thought it was hilarious
Patcher actually kind of a cheat code for bootleg versions of expensive plug-ins
@@prod.hallow I actually just had to use it on a track so that I could have a mixer track bypass the master 🤦♂️ humbled
patcher is genuinely the best thing about FL and the only reason I'd ever consider switching back to it. The sound design capabilities it has are damn near limitless
😂😂
🙏
Note from an engineer not mastered your beats
*dont
At what volume should i be exporting it then for youtube unmaster
The high-pass is killing your phase, dont do that. Just pass your mix to a mastering engineer.
yes
straight uninformative
yess
Playboy vallah
yesssssssssssss
Lowpassing your master is scrub

Doesn't seem like you know what you're doing there
and you do?? with your 225 subscribers??? yes, teach us, sensei. lmfaooooooo
@@ChuTheCreator I don't make youtube content man. I will teach you if you want tho
@@ChuTheCreator how to lose all respect as a creator and display immaturity and insecurity in 12 words... And you *do* seem to be clueless
@@ChuTheCreator he's got a point, you are quite literally squashing your mix, and making it boxy. I'd suggest using a maximizer as it keeps the transient when it hits the threshold, also you can see your peak RMS and LUFS. You wanna be at -14 as that's industry standard atm
@@ChuTheCreator clowning on people based on sub-count is seriously pathetic and ignorant my guy
Cool stuff but probably mostly retained as nonsense
Thanks for watching doe
whats the song in the background called?
Individually cut out subs bruv
Huh... you always want 20 or more hertz cut from your master
pointless to do a 20hz cut on your Master track...bad advice. learn how to mix
