- Storms across southern parts of England and Wales are expected to continue throughout Thursday morning, interrupting travel and potentially bringing the threat of flood.
Warnings remain in place for the south-west of England and Wales until 8am Thursday, the Met Office said, while a warning in south-east England was extended to 10am.
Commuters have reported facing delays as trains are held up on tracks while repairers work to reconnect power and The Met Office warned of “difficult driving conditions and some road closures”.

It's a bit of hail and thunder. What's the big deal - that it happened in London?
It did happen in London but it was pretty brief,. in my area, only about 20-30mins I think.
We had it here down in Cornwall
Just waiting for the name of the storm, i have no idea why they do this, its bad weather
Awfully dangerous weilding a sword during lightning.
@SceneArtisan we're 20 miles Cambridge side of London and we got thunder and lightning at around 04.30am
One of the cells that passed over my town was virtually continuous lighting. Mostly cloud to cloud ( C to C ) but the lighting count on my lightning app was clocking up 1 a second. That's 3600 strikes from just that one cell in an hour. The BBC weather lady said that there were 4000 strikes across the region. She meant 40 000. So anyone who says oh it was nothing much was clearly either asleep or the weather system had simply not gone that far north and west.
😂😂 didn't hear any battering storm just some rain lightning and thunder
We had a good bit of thunder here in Somerset. It was excellent
I'm next door in Dorset. Right next to the Somerset border. Someone mentioned it to me this morning. I'm on some new sleep medication though and snored all the way through it. Didn't hear a thing. 😴💤
Never reached Torquay.
@@Jamie_Wulfyrsame except for the sleeping thingies
Thors not happy ⚡😊
Why do the UK media make such a big deal of stuff like this - it's hardly severe weather, especially compared to other countries.
Because it's Southern England and London, we get more frequent storms here in the Midlands then Southern England but they make a big deal about it like they do if they get 1cm of snow in winter.
@@KJames2345 but some of these frequent storms are rare
@@Mrtrollololo No it's London, anything happens in London it's breaking news, these storm ain't rare neither, I like stormchasing these storm ain't rare, the storm was a low elevated thunderstorm nothing too dramatic, convected storms are the worst storms the UK gets, more chance of seeing those storms north of London such as central England.
All we had in Heartfordshire was a bit of thunder for about 5 minutes
Hertfordshire
Hertfordshire 🙌
Lasted for about 5 mins where I live in London, but I have to say it was the loudest I’ve heard, woke me up
I woke up to it, the storm was MASSIVE!
It woke me up
This rain soundscape is pure magic! I've been using it to unwind before bed, and it creates such a cozy atmosphere. Thanks for sharing!
I used to experience heavy thunderstorms every summer time in my home country, having thunderstorms here is quite exciting :)
I'm in my 70,s and as far back as I can remember we've had thunder storms yearly . Nothing new then, maybe if they were given names that could then be considered much worse than past storms
They need to stop messing with the weather
Who’s they?
bloody government!🤣🤣🤣🤣
Don't panic, weather has been happening for a long time now. Even before we were here
All natural baby
I was in this storm! It was great. I love thunderstorms
I live in England man it’s crazy there when I heard thunderstorms I get really stressed out and sad when I got home I got all wet

Me and my family was at 165 romney walk and not only we were surrounded by the storm WE WERE IN THE STORM.
Never seen lightning before I was wondering what it looked like..
No heatwave but storms
That's "Riders On the Storm" weather...we haven't got that up here...wandering around in a T-shirt weather is highly unusual for Scotland today!.
Where I live it was very bright and a lot of lighting and thunder in the road where I live the lighting struck a parked car it sounded like a canon going off and lighting was a very bright flash so not much sleep
... thanks for the video.. I slept through it...!!!
Meanwhile, every afternoon in the MidAtlantic and Southern U.S. May-September…
Apparently Dubai is a bit wet too...
Fantastic sky show.
Holy cow what the hell happened to this weather?
Who got creative mode and changed the weather
We never have storms like that in Yorkshire
That’s cos Yorkshire folk are not heathens like those strange southerners ❤😅
Rather be a heathen than an inbred yorkie 😂😅@@tamrielspirit3285

Thor has visited England🌩️😊
I LOVE RAIN AND THUNDER I DO ,I GET MY MUM TO EMPTY A WATERINGCAN OVER ME AND MY SISTER TO BASH TWO METAL DUSTBIN LODS TOGETHER AND MY OTHER BROTHER TO SITCH THE LIGHTS ON AND OFF IN THE HOUSE JUST TO GET MYSELF OFF
Hahaha
ooh, what’s that flashing light? that’s never happened before. if the wrong rain gets on the rail tracks all the drivers will be terrified & they’ll HAVE TO cancel all trains UFN.
What was all the fuss about?
Had it of been like a thunder storm from the 1700s that lasted 3 weeks and destroyed a village, now that would of been news worthy.
I remember a thunder storm from around the mid 1960s lasted all night and most of the next day
*have
If it’s the one I’m thinking of that was indeed a cracker, our teacher was hiding in a classroom closet hail as big as golf balls and spectacular lightning spanning hilltop to hilltop set against a black sky.Not a lot of rain though.
@@davelowe1977 "Have" what?
@@macraghnaill3553 "of been" and "would of" should both be have not of.
@@davelowe1977 Very good!
Now remember that the English language is evolving all the time, if it wasn't we would still be speaking Latin
When I went to school we were taught that one could write as we speak as long as it wasn't done in important letters i.e family and friends ect write as one speaks [Y/T would come under that heading] everything else write correct English.
Thanks for your input as I feel so much better for receiving it!
Wow, tell the world, world news, how pathetic the uk is
Just the beginning guys
It woke me up at like 3am
Smae

'Battered'
Other countries that have REAL weather must be laughing at us
I love thunderstorms.
What do I see here but Almighty God demonstrating His great power in the storms which were over southern England in the early hours of today.
We are all without excuse on the great Day of Judgement which is coming upon us all at the end of the world!
If only people acknowledged all of this & not comment such bunk on here, the better!
The day of judgment justice shall be served! 🇵🇸☝️
What sort of Batter?
That’s not a storm 😂
I fell asleep last night to typical cornish weather, windows opened so I could listen to and watch it. Cornwall and Devon are used to subtropical storms as we are sub tropic counties.
Sleep right though it 😴
Climate change it’s a rare storm and it’s raining

Haven't they gave it a silly name 😂😂😂

Subhan Allah Glory be to Allah the lord of the worlds.
Jesus Christ indeed. He is God manifest in the flesh and thunder is God's voice.
Psalm 7:18
the voice of thy thunder was in the heaven,
the lightnings lightened the world,
the earth trembled and shook.
Yes God Is Not Happy With It Here He God Is Very Frustrated Angry And Dissapointed As Is Father Jesus
More lies...
Soft southerners! 😂
I'm a southerner, I enjoyed it. I've not heard anyone complain about it. It's just media exaggeration as usual
