When I was a kid the 20R was often replaced with a small block chevy. We called them Toyoletts or a Chevota. Parts breakage was guaranteed even if you swapped v8 into a much stronger fj40.
nothing a little welding cant fix... lol
1: build it
2: wheel it
3: break it
4: upgrade it
5: go back to step 2
It just needs new mounts. It's the 12V Cummins mounts I used that failed. The frame side stuff I welded up is fine 😅
@Dirt Garage oh wow... im surprised that a mount from a cummins failed! Those were designed to take alot of abuse lol...
Came here expecting a broken birf… surprised me with a broken engine mount😂 Edit- nevermind I commented too soon 😂
Yeah there is a couple things that break in this video.
good thing that tree had all that snow around the base to hold it in place
Would have been better without snow, then we could get the rope around it more than 2 feet lower where it is stronger, instead of applying the leverage up high
This made me very happy to watch
this better than an issue of lowrider magazine... where are the snow bunnies 🐰
Amazing Toyota pickup love those 4Runners
Howdy have a question. I'm currently installing a 3uzfe into my 88 4 runner. I am planning on doing the 63 chevy leaf spring swap and was curious if you have ran into excessive axle wrap with yours?
Do you know what rear suspension setup the tan and red 2nd gen has? it has really good lower link angle compared to mine. mines almost 45 degrees down with a ~6in lift lol
That was a nice outting to watch !
Man I love those 2nd gen Runners 😅
Glad you enjoyed
Good times, if you're not breaking then your not doing.
Hey man, whered the guy with the grey 4runner get the headlights from?
Thought the blue runner was gona tip in the beginning,
Great job editing the music,
Was close! Up on 2 wheels for a split second!
I have a 1990 Toyota 4x4 pickup and want to add a locker of some kind. I’m no hardcore 4x4 guy but want at least 1 end to be lockable and I am stock so no solid front axle. Should I add a locker to my front or rear axle???
Also I don’t want a locker that requires air or electricity so I guess that leaves a like a Detroit or spartan style ratchet type locker. Are they good for someone that drives the truck on road as well ???
Awesome
Id of just bolted a chain to the mount and frame and sent it
I don't remember, was the 5vz breaking parts?
I blew birfs with it yeah. Trevor's rig has 5vz and it broke here
I should have been watching this video instead of the President visit in Canada live video - sorry a boat that eh! 😅
My brother's 4.3 vortec keeps snapping his 22re mounts so im surprised how long it took for the 1uz to break those 3.0 ones
Those are not 3.0 mounts. Those where cut off. It broke the 12v cummins mounts I used
I run a chain from from the driver's side of block to the frame, the way I put is where it just has a tiny bit of slack not tight, that way the mount can still move a little bit but not enough where it could break it
YODA POWER!!!!🤪😎🤘🤙👍👀
Everytime bro goes wheeling his rig breaks
That's not necessarily true 🤣
Is there a vid or 2 of the v8 swap🤔 id like to watch that✌
There is a whole bunch!
@@DirtGarage ok....i will search it out thx😁
You got lockers in that thing? Might help so your not punching it
Yup, front and rear. Both engaged the whole video.
Ifs 2nd gen for the win! #4runnergang
His diff didn't even blow up this time!
@@DirtGarage have seen a lot more blown diffs on sas rigs than I have ifs lol axles may be a different story lol 😂
@@brian7133 Well the guy in this video on IFS has gone through 2 diffs this winter alone. I only have 1 video where someone blew up the ring and pinion in front solid axle.
@@DirtGarage is he running a locker in the front? Cause if so gotta be geared low and go slow lol
@@brian7133 It's welded. And on stock gears.
