Hey so for those considering the BrenTune I wanted to give the pros and the cons. I got stage 2 on my 21’ ZX10R and I will say it really wakes the bike up. The bike is so restricted before the flash. I got the F1 air filter and a sc project crt exhaust w stock headers. Once I got my flash installed I went out roll racing against an R1 that’s been giving me fits before the flash, and let’s just say he still gave me fits even after the flash. With that said, although it’s a much better ride, you probably still will need to get a power commander or dyno tuned to get it dialed in. I gave all the relevant info when getting the flash but it’s still not quite there so I’d say the power numbers you see on their graph are not necessarily what you’re gonna get (obviously). I’m gonna get mine dyno tuned in a few weeks and I update y’all on what baseline numbers I’m getting for those that are on the fence.
Just an update for those wondering, the baseline numbers I got on my local dyno with a stage 2 flash on 93 pump gas were 188 whp, so not quite the 201 advertised, or the 193 advertised even for stage 1. But still an increase.
@@MillsOn2Wheels the important test is the dyno before flashing to see gains. No dyno reads the same. Some read high, some read low. That’s why a same day comparison is key, with the most important information being the gains over the stock baseline. If your baseline before flashing was in the low 160’s, your gains would be exactly as advertised.
@@badass1g I’m confused? I said it was 188hp with the stage 2 flash - I’m not paying to dyno tune the bike after paying $1k for a flash tune lol - granted this dyno I use reads really low so that 188 is probably like 198 on any other dyno
@@MillsOn2Wheelsyou should always get a custom tune for these bikes. ECU flash is fine but knowing you are not at the bike’s limit for a few hundred saved is a huge kick in the balls
no electric suspension adjustments, no psi display, no slide control modes, no wheelie control modes, no launch control support, no fuel gauge?, pretty flat blipping and quick shifter that can't be used without full acceleration or no acceleration...
Kawasaki is smart they knew people would mod the bike so they cut 50hp near redline so that this engine could pass euro5 and they wouldn't have to redesign or discontinue this model
Fantastic video guys, unbelievable how restricted this ecu is, even with the stock exhaust system still fitted the change in the bike after stage 2 is just insane. 👍
My 2 cents as an owner of the less restricted eu version of this bike. I Know that the US Version dies after 12k ish rpm and some say that it would have issues fending off 600's in a straight line. The US version still delivers ~175hp @11k so there's not a lof of truth in that.
Agreed. I have a bone stock '21 US model and I can smoke 600s and 750s. It is weird from a dig though, you have to trick the throttle as you can feel its holding back when you go from no throttle to full throttle. You have to have it already partially open when you hit it hard.
To be honest does it really need anymore power than that on the top end if all you doing is street riding. The average person is not doing track days so how much faster does the bike really need to go on the top end on the street? Seems pretty fast enough to me for what the average owner is gonna do with the bike.
Don't forget that this is an infomercial, with normal day to day riding the 175 hp you get at 11K is plenty for most people and if you shift before the (US) bike falls off at 11.5k rpm you won't notice it. But there's other advantages with the flash though like better throttle response, less jerky on/off throttle etc with better QS speed and feel. I got my flash primarily for that and that it needs more fuel when adding a full or a 3/4 exhuast system + high flow air filter. With the flash and the lesser engine brake "light" setting the bike is near perfect on/off throttle imo. I use the top part of the rev range a few times each time i take the bike out but i don't really NEED to, it's fun but also demands focus.
Hi I’m a complete noob to this. What is stage 1 vs stage 2 mean? What should I get for a 2023 ZX10R that I’m about to put a an Arrow half system on? Is there a video tutorial on how to do a brentune on this specific bike? Is dyno necessary after brentune?
Did that bike have aftermarket exhaust on it? Sounds like it. Probably why it felt so unexciting in stock form? Aftermarket exhaust with no tune probably lost power before you actually tuned it lol
Hi Sir, did you hesitate a bit in the beginning of the 60-130 run or were you in full throttle from the start? I think you could have gotten a better 60-130 time. I'm just curious..
Also worth noting my cruise control works intermittently however this was an issue from day one from the factory. Have reported to dealer and initial suspicion is the clutch lever switch acting up.
@1:12 I'm glad you mentioned this because if your aren't sure what you are doing and have a quick shifter (DONT FUGGIN TOUCH IT)😂😂😂 my friend did this and then we hauled his bike in to get his new bike REPAIRED! They ended up ordering a new quick shifter (replaced) a new clutch pack(replaced) when the QS was still malfunctioning! We were hanging out in my garage having a couple cold ones and starts messing with the adjustment on my clutch cable. I smack the 💩out of him and immediately I realized what he did to his 21ZX10RR. I wish I had a video of him when he told the mechanic he messed with it trying to adjust the play out of his lever. He remembered turning the screw 1 and half times before tightening the lock nut and like magic everything works perfectly. The ecu print out didn't pick up any missed shifts because the bike was shifting but really rough and out of sync but was triggering the TC or ABS to act up. Thankfully the mechanic was very professional and shook my friends hand for coming in and being honest after realizing something he did might of caused the issue. He checked it off under warranty and did him a solid.
Can you explain the difference between stage 1 and 2? I have a 21zx10r and I'm going with a trickstar 3/4 pipe. Will your flash keep the flapper open and the throttle at 100% the whole time?
@@priyanshu1265 The OEM titanium headers are actually pretty good, check Chris Moore's videos for more on the subject. Not a lot to gain topend with a full Akra system compared with a good 3/4 decat system like Arrow/SC project/spark etc. You DO get 4-6 ~ more hp midrange with the Akra but considering that a full Akra Titanium system is more than twice than the titanium Spark 3/4 system i changed to with the flash it isn't worth it for me.
So with the stacks installed paired with sprint filter and a full akra, how much hp can we expect at the rear wheel with this stage 2 flash? Given the bike is running on 93 pump gas.

Making me miss my ZX10R, I love that green.
"Pretty basic electronics" bike has Launch control, 5 settings of TC electronic cruise, Bluetooth, quick shifter, lean sensors downshift blipping and more...

Yeah, but why would you be using a quick shifter at no acceleration that’s just retarded

Makes sense. Inspections/ emissions are strict outside the USA
The forward slack also blips the throttle. When shifting down.
Y’know I was wondering why that was happening on some shifts 😂. Didn’t see it in the manual

Forward slack prob is an option to disengage cruise control. Aprilia has that too
I noticed the same thing with my 2020 ZX10R, especially compared to my 2021 MT09 which has a very smooth quick shifter.
Nice work as always 👍 BT Moto is much appreciated.
I love how post-flash it barks when downshifting. :D

The switch on my brake lever was giving me trouble with ASV levers. Put an adhesive space in there and the CC works good now.
Is this like a mail-in ECU flash? Does it matter what mods are done to the bike?
We mail you a handheld so you can flash your bike at home. We send you files based on your mods.
Did you remove the o2 sensor and is it necessary to remove it?
Also would like to know this
@@wrenchrat they do tell you to disconnect the o2 sensor once you install the flash. I have stage 2 on my 21’ zx10
Yes you need to disconnect it. You can simply cut the wires if you’re lazy like me. It will run like ass if you don’t.
Should I buy velocity stack I’m about to get your tuner and sprint air filter for this bike
The neg slack cancels the cruise control.
I can see the difference by just watching the vid, oneday ill get one lol
What's the best engine oil for the 2021 zx10r?
